  1. [10:42:01] Rilla led Kvaja down from Avalon, and into Lengsel once more. And from there, into her tower. One thing very prominent within the tower, was the numerous bookshelves all about. Rilla was a known bookworm, after all... And of course, that would be the most likely place to find the specific book she was looking for!
  2.
  3. "The book in question is one called the Journeyman's Primer. It's technically for those who have already moved past animals and the like, but it should still serve our purposes well. I'll have you read it, and it should give you an idea of how to go about it."
  4.
  5. Rilla would start searching through shelves in search of the book. Even though she loved books, Kvaja would notice that they were horribly unorganized... There didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to how they were placed in the shelves. Perhaps, a symptom of her bad memory?
  6. (Rilla Lithia-Brubeck)
  7. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  8.
  9. [10:46:53] She nods doing her best to follow along with the explanation..She kind of dreaded the idea of animals. Namely dealing with dead ones which weren't sitting around ready for cooking. This seemed a tad much but maybe once Rilla got into the proper explaining she would feel better about it.
  10.
  11. "So I just gotta keep all that cognitive and emotional stuff working towards Necromancy right? Not sure what you are suppose to feel as a necromancer..." In honesty she had always been confused by the practice keen to let smarter people handle it.
  12. (Kvaja Granzer)
  13. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  14.
  15. [10:55:16] "Well... Necromancy is an odd magic. And different people use it for different reasons. Someone like Morgan, for instance, probably channeled his desire to create. Someone like Rebecca probably channels their desire to learn. I myself channel my desire to heal. You would channel whatever motivates you to learn it."
  16.
  17. Rilla would nod. She supposed that would make it.. Emotional? She wasn't too sure on the specifics of that. She was still a rather new necromancer. Though she did have three years of experience now. About as many as Ceres had when they had started teaching her and Tarquin.
  18.
  19. She'd thumb through the shelves, until finally she came upon the book in question. The Journeyman's Primer! Taking it out, she'd hand it to Kvaja with a smile.
  20.
  21. "This is the copy me and Tarquin learned from, so treat it with care, alright?"
  22. (Rilla Lithia-Brubeck)
  23. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  24.
  25. [10:57:30] LOOC - Rilla Lithia-Brubeck: (I'm going to send you a message over discord with a link)
  26. [10:57:37] LOOC - Rilla Lithia-Brubeck: (This book has an actual Google doc)
  27. [11:03:58] She nods gingerly taking the book.
  28.
  29. "Hmm. I am not sure what would motivate me." She cracks it open.
  30.
  31. After reading for a while she her brow furrows "I feel more than a tad scared at the idea of bringing someone back wrong." She glances over seeing the full process and not just religious jargon was a bit different to say the least.
  32.
  33. Mumbling a few phrase "Lunar watch..Revi..Vification amnesia..." This felt more than a tad bit overhwhelming.
  34. (Kvaja Granzer)
  35. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  36.
  37. [11:08:28] "It can be scary. It can be demotivating. I myself almost gave up on it because of the failures... But the important part of necromancy is to push on. I'll get Tarquin to help as well, and together we'll help you learn it as best we can."
  38.
  39. Rilla would nod. She watched as Kvaja tried to read it over, and mumbled some of the words to herself. She remembered trying to read it the first time herself...
  40.
  41. "It's not hard to understand, it's just... Droll, really. Even Tarquin had a hard time getting through it. It's best read over time as you learn. In bits, I suppose."
  42. (Rilla Lithia-Brubeck)
  43. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  44.
  45. [11:14:17] She rubs her eyes and closes the book.
  46.
  47. "Understandable..Guess it will be up to you to tell me how to.." she flicks her hand open and closed "The magic part of it. I don't even know how to channel that stuff." She had been thinking about what could motivate her and honestly the dead were best left to rest so her fallen friends weren't a motivation.. The only person she could truly regret would be Clint and the last thing he would want is her even trying..
  48.
  49. "Plus he has most likely moved onto his next life.." She hadn't realized she was speaking allowed but does her best to change the subject. "Maybe I need something to think about..Which will be hard with dead animals being the subject of this magic.."
  50. (Kvaja Granzer)
  51. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  52.
  53. [11:22:21] "Tarquin and I will lead you through it. But... For motivation..."
  54.
  55. Rilla would think for a moment. It was better for them to think of their own motivation, of course. But... At the very least she could give her a point to start on.
  56.
  57. "Think about... The people who care about you. And... Think about how much it would devastate us if something were to happen to you. Think about me... Teaching you this is my gift to you. Out of everything I could do... This is the only thing I trust myself to be able to do to truly keep you safe."
  58.
  59. Rilla wouldn't comment on what she said... There were some things better left unspoken.
  60. (Rilla Lithia-Brubeck)
  61. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  62.
  63. [11:31:18] She will let her mana flow and got into her head a few ideas..They mostly just resulted in her holding her hands out in the air. She really thought about it. Tranen and Sachiko's husband seemed alright but that was the masters of the craft doing groundbreaking work. She shifted to the idea that they hammered into the Ookami of my village so we wouldn't be..Spooked by undead.
  64.
  65. Best their lives instead of ours. We knew how little we were worth and without the undead we would be filled right along the Drakanites and sent in mass to die..Everytime someone she cared about went off to war she thought what she would give if it was just someone else. It wasn't like calling her wolves just a part of herself willing to come out at anytime. It was her looming enemy that had tormented her the whole time here..
  66.
  67. Death..She wouldn't let it have Rilla, Or Tarq..None of the Brubecks. They were hers and this hellhole could have anything else but them. "My hands..Are kind of cold..Or numb.." She squeezes them together a few times.
  68. (Kvaja Granzer)
  69. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  70.
  71. [11:37:57] Rilla took Kvaja's hand. She didn't need to start it now. They could take some time... She'd allow a bit of holy lightning to go across them, a gentle warmth would flow across Kvaja's hand as Rilla held them.
  72.
  73. "Patience, Kvaja. We'll get to that part soon... For now, you've got the book. I'll give you our own personal notes as well. Read over them, and I'll gather what we need later. Alright?"
  74.
  75. Rilla would plant another kiss on Kvaja's forehead, before nodding. She had faith in Kvaja that she could do this...
  76. (Rilla Lithia-Brubeck)
  77. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  78.
  79. [11:42:53] She smile and looked at Rilla.
  80. It was probably dangerous to just channel mana with strange thoughts in your head with no clear goal..That was pretty basic. But her hands now being warmed by Rilla's light helped a lot. She set the book back on its shelf and noted its location in the haphazard system in place for them.
  81.
  82. "Yeah I might be stopping in here more."
  83. (Kvaja Granzer)
  84. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  85.
  86. [11:43:15] Rilla Lithia-Brubeck says, "I would certainly hope. But, let's go outside for a bit now."
  87. [11:44:37] Kvaja Granzer says, "Right."
  88.
  89. [11:44:49] Kvaja grabs Rilla's hand
  90. (Kvaja Granzer)
