  1. I never heard this song before:

  5. I think I'd really like to change my worldview to be, in part, a sun cult. This could be with others or not. It would be a personal commitment to reminding myself of the sun every day. That all life would not be possible without its presence. An exploration of the views and experiences of so many cultures on what the sun was for them. I bet there's never been a single group of people to not have something to say about our heavenly friend.

  7. If you think about it, Adrienne, *sits next to you for the moment, pointing skyward* I guess there's nothing in the entire universe that is as important to our lives as the sun. It's everything every love song ever wanted to be. It's everything gods and religions ever hoped or aspired or claimed to be. It's the longest lasting relationship and love in our lives. It witnessed our birth, the births of all those we ever cared about, all sentient beings to ever inhabit this planet, and it will be there, unchanging when it all ends (to become something new). The progenitor of our civilization, the creator of our entire world. Mother and father to our children. Provider of energy and possibility to see what we might create. We are literally pieces and manifestations of the sun in different form, tendrils of its heat and power peering into the universe and back at ourself. Shepherd and overseer to every act of kindness and every genocide.

  9. Some 4.5 billion years ago, when our sun, like its children, shall age and begin to fall apart, having lived a goof life, it will be truly worthy of mourning. Though I presume my consciousness will not be there to observe, I hope that whomever is present shall take a moment to imagine the glorious multi-billion year history of life and evolution here in our Solar System, tucked away in a corner of the universe, one of the many homes in our universe, all made by possible by that dying star, initiator of a hundred billion trillion lives who dared to exist, even if only for the briefest of moments.
  10.
  11. 'You were a good star, Sun'
