  1. Maeve Illumir says, "I..."
  2.
  3.
  4. Senevбl asks, "Yes?"
  5.
  6. Maeve Illumir says, "Could persuade you. To fight even harder, too."
  7. Maeve tilts her head to one side.
  8. (Maeve Illumir)
  9.
  10.
  11. Senevбl says, "Ah? Well.."
  12. "I know that witches are capable of such."
  13.
  14. Yet, it was most certainly something that would be useful; after all, he imagines that Douma would actually tap into such advantage, if he would have to.. after all, he already has a witch by his side, does he not?
  15.
  16. "In case I do happen to fight either Douma or Veles, I suppose I could use that. I've heard both of them have grown rather formidable, and very quickly."
  17.
  18. "Any advantage would greatly help. I'm still a bit puzzled as to why they chose me as their champion, considering that I lack unique magics that others possess, but.."
  19.
  20. "Perhaps they're putting faith in my combat prowess."
  21. (Senevбl)
  22.
  23. "Though, of course... I'll likely only be able to perform the spell a single time... And no one will notice the rage, if you're already under the effects of a rage potion - more than likely. I think it could work... Better than some niche quirk."
  24.
  25. She reiterates a point.
  26.
  27. "A single time since I'm not the seasoned Witch to have drained vast ammunition from people. Yet. But, I'm willing to take this bet."
  28.
  29. She crossed her arms behind her back.
  30.
  31. "I'll try to be present for it."
  32. (Maeve Illumir)
  33.
  34. To that end, he merely gives a single nod to her- for he imagines that this could very well be something they'd find use for. But to digress..
  35.
  36. "Thank you, Maeve."
  37.
  38. "Finding anyone reliable these days is exceedingly difficult, but I'm glad I found you."
  39.
  40. There's almost betrayal of emotions upon his countenance. An exceedingly rare, genuine appreciation, even from someone who happens to be a demon- though, it is quickly hidden behind the neutral expression. Perhaps, it is because he intends to keep such hidden for the most part, but to digress..
  41.
  42. "Ah.."
  43.
  44. "There was something else I was meaning to ask." There's a pause, after which he elaborates. "I've long deemed you impressive in many fields, and those that I choose to accompany with myself upon the path of Black Silk are those that I pick carefully."
  45.
  46. "I've been meaning to do so for a long time, but I would extend invite to you as well - I intend to retrieve the Indras Shards this expedition, and as you've heard, the majority of demonkind already supports the notion of having the team with me as a lead."
  47.
  48. "Unless something goes terribly wrong, I should have it, for Versail intends to aid me as well."
  49.
  50. A pause, to which he adds.
  51.
  52. "Of course, if you wish to ask more, you may.. and it is your choice only."
  53. (Senevбl)
  54.
  55. There's a grin that irresistibly dragged upon the corners of her lips. Wider and wider, displaying those alabaster rows. This was another display of genuinity. Or, at least, that's what she believe she'd perceived from the Spider.
  56.
  57. "An invite, for what specifically? To join the Shard collection team; accompany?" She questioned specifically, since she'd already been under the assumption to be assisting this Black Silk organization of his like they'd discussed before.
  58.
  59. That cult.
  60.
  61. "Are you certain? Most view a child and close the curtain." She states, not seeming to be upset about the fact none could place their trust in someone this young.
  62. (Maeve Illumir)
  63.
  64. "For more than that, Maeve.."
  65.
  66. As much as it was a trace of genuine demeanor present upon him, it was quick to be discarded- for a simple fact that he was yet coming to terms with displays such as these.. and while he often wore fake smiles, fake laughs, something like this was rather exceedingly difficult to draw out from Seneval.
  67.
  68. Spiders tend to be cold-blooded.
  69.
  70. And he's prime example of that too; still, it doesn't mean that he doesn't feel anything.. merely the fact that he often knows how to hide it well. Instead..
  71.
  72. "The Shard I intend to retrieve would be used for myriad rituals to come in order to aid myself and those that are by my side to claim parts of Esshar as ours- perhaps, all of Esshar eventually."
  73.
  74. "Beyond that? I intend to become an Abyssal Lord. To grow and ascend beyond what other demonkind aspire to. If you've heard them on the meeting, none of them wantto lead anything.. they're uninspired, lacking, laidback." Which aren't good traits for a demon at all.
  75.
  76. "With time, I would lead humanity and demonkind alike to a new age. One that implies a new shared dream for everyone - and I will cast the web that no other Spider has cast before."
  77.
  78. Certainly it is a metaphor, but.. they could dance around the topic endlessly. Still, he merely squints at the assertion she makes of herself.
  79.
  80. "Come now, Maeve.."
  81.
  82. A single hand raises, and it is carefully settled onto the side of her cheek; it holds no malice, no trace as if he were to look down upon her.. but instead, something else..
  83.
  84. Almost as if he's puzzled to hear why she thinks of herself like this. Pride in another.. admiration even.
  85.
  86. "You're better than most. There's a reason why even the most skilled witches took interest in you - and I have a keen eye for someone capable, someone who would come far."
  87.
  88. The hand carefully slides downward, if only to grasp upon her chin, softly- it's only slightly tilted upward, as if a hidden gesture for her to hold her chin high.. one of a prideful demeanor.
  89.
  90. "Certainly you do not think I would think of you that way? I've known you ever since you were but a budding witch."
  91.
  92. "And I've known of potential you hold."
  93.
  94. (Senevбl)
  95.
  96. The tilt of her head straightens back up with Senevбl's further explanation upon his own goals. She narrowed her gaze ever so slightly, not out of suspiciousness, but out of deep thought.
  97.
  98. She was thinking, stewing, on each word he spoke. An Abyssal Lord? He had powerful ambitions. Just like she'd hoped to reach the stage of Amalia Elaide.
  99.
  100. She was not to be a Witch who laid in the background and did nothing. She was proactive for those she had faith in. Or took a liking to.
  101.
  102. Those ruby hues drift to the side, eyeing the hand which met her cheek. It reminds her immediately of the last time he'd done this. But, what was new were those words of encouragement as he upholds her chins slightly.
  103.
  104. Anabelle saw potential. Eudocia liked the rhymes. Sibylle, too, saw something. Serenity. Even Demons at the tower wanted to bring Maeve onto their side.
  105.
  106. "I would say I'm still in the process of newly budding... But..." She pauses, her smile met her eyes.
  107.
  108. "I do thank you. Myself lending aid will be true." She reassures in regards to the Shards.
  109.
  110. As long as there is space for those he had priorities to bring.
  111. (Maeve Illumir)
  112.
  113. It's in the moments such as those he knew very well that witches are to be harbored. That many find themselves wasted in the hands of another, if only because other demons tend to be terribly directionless with what they do.. as all they intend to do is merely acquire power and nothing beyond that.
  114.
  115. At that point, he knew that there would be much, much better purposes, better aspirations for someone like Maeve.
  116.
  117. "Whether you're in the process of becoming a witch or not, truthfully, matters little.. for I already know that you've grasped just enough." After all, had she not proven that already by studying under such capable figures like Anabelle?
  118.
  119. "But very well."
  120.
  121. "We'll step together into this new age - and the first stop will be at the Indras Shards, just as we grasp upon it."
  122.
  123. Eventually, the hand drifts down, if only to return to his side once more. There's a pause, to which he promptly adds.
  124.
  125. "I suppose we are to prepare for what's to come now, yes?"
  126.
  127. "Come. We could discuss the rest as we go."
  128. (Senevбl)
