  1. Another puzzle down and I must say you got it much faster than I would have thought. Well let's get into it.
  2.
  3. Org Hint:
  4. I've lost something, but you don't know what it is, luckily I know where I last left it! in the following sentence, can you figure out the missing piece?
  5.
  6. >St. Nick has a problem, every political outlet has been talking of a massive storm of flakes, but he can't find a single trace on the radar.
  7.

  12. Ans:
  13. This is what is known as a Printer's Devilry https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Printer%27s_Devilry. Essentially by removing a segment from a sentence you create a new sentence and the solvers must find the removed phrase. This is fairly
  14.
  15. simple taking a look at the sentence we see that there is a lot of references to weather, but only the word flakes, add in snow and you get
  16.
  17. St. Nick has a problem, every political outlet has been talking of a massive storm of snowflakes, but he can't find a single trace on the radar.
  18.
  19. Thus the answer is "snow"
  20.
  21. Hint 1:
  22. rcsamiths rete, hawt a yunfn mane orf em ot ese.
  23.
  24. Ans:
  25. This is what is known as a word scramble, take the time to rearrange the letters and you get "Christmas tree, what a funny name for me to see." Which of course means the answer is "tannenbaum"
  26.
  27. Hint 2:
  28. Holidays are so cheerful and nice. I can't help but smile and let my thoughts wonder. Perhaps you can see what I'm dreaming of by taking a look at that image.
  29. Accompanied by this image named simulacrum.png https://imgur.com/a/LXN07.
  30.
  31. Ans:
  32. Take a second to analyze it and you see White Tiger and Luke Cage. Take a look back at the original hint and the phrase "Perhaps you can see what I'm dreaming of" which is a reference to a popular Christmas song that uses the phrase
  33.
  34. "white christmas," you can alos reverse this by thinking of WHITE tiger and luke cage whose catchphrase was "sweet CHRISTMAS."
  35.
  36. Hint 3:
  37. I might as well open an art gallery with all the pieces I'm collecting, and how nice that each one is festive. Can you guess who my star is?
  38. Accompanied by this image named ididyourmom.png https://imgur.com/a/jWHMb.
  39.
  40. Ans:
  41. If you analyze the hint I am asking you who the star of this scene is, which of course is charlie DAY. If you count the shots there are twelve of him sitting on Santa's lap, thus the answer is "twelve days of christmas"
  42.
  43. Hint 4:
  44. You've made it quite far Defectives, but I know you won't be able to solve this riddle, so why don't you take some time maybe sing some of your FAVORITE Christmas songs http://www.metrolyrics.com/christmas-carols-lyrics.html, if you do
  45.
  46. it right things right it will be as easy as COUNTING 1, 2, 3, 4. The answer can be found, but only if you know my friend's name. Good luck finding that though.
  47.
  48. 1-18 15-4 106-1 148-1 146-1 159-1 92-1.
  49.
  50. Ans:
  51. This was supposed to be the show stopper of the puzzle, a disjointed multipart riddle that would require you to really think and get working. First off visit that URL and you see that it is a list of Christmas songs sorted by
  52.
  53. popularity, you'll note that I say: "if you do it right things right it will be as easy as COUNTING 1, 2, 3, 4." This is a multipart hint; first, you must grab the 4 most popular songs, which are
  54. 1. Rudolph, The Red Nosed Reindeer (2006)
  55.
  56. 2. Jingle Bells (2006)
  57.
  58. 3. Joy To The World (2006)
  59.
  60. 4. Winter Wonderland (2006)
  61. Once you have those, you can build a word bank of the lyrics, but what are you supposed to do with them? Well looking back on the hint you see the word "COUNTING" so now you must count every word in the lyrics to see how often they
  62.
  63. occur (be sure to remove [verse blah] as those are not lyrics). Do this and you receive a cipher text that looks like this https://pastebin.com/Napffx6d. Now to the next part,
  64. 1-18 15-4 106-1 148-1 146-1 159-1 92-1.
  65. This is clearly a substitution cipher, but without your decoder you will get nowhere. You see several numbers, they correspond to line number-occurence of the word. Thusly using the above cipher you can decode it to
  66.
  67. 1-18 15-4 106-1 148-1 146-1 159-1 92-1
  68. the reindeer love their spirits with her.
  69.
  70. Which is in itself another puzzle to solve. So who is this person and what do they have to do with spirits? Well if you know your modern Christmas stories perhaps you've read Olive The Other Reindeer. Olives of course are cherished in
  71.
  72. cocktails (hence the hint spirits), and you know to look for something reindeer related, the answer is "olive".
  73.
  74. Final hint:
  75. So you think you've beaten me? Well you are quite close, in order to truly win you're going to have to post my favorite version of a certain red nosed Christmast carol. Post a link to it and the following phrase
  76.
  77. "This brings the X to Xmas, fuck waiting for you to get it on your own."
  78.
  79. Ans:
  80. So you've cracked the last box, usually there's just a post, but I think I rather like making you work so in this final hint it's a two parter, you must post the code phrase and the object I seek, which is of course DMX singing Rudolph
  81.
  82. The Red Nosed Reindeer.
  83.
  84. That's it stay tuned for more.
