  10. 8:29:05 PM kevinreilly@hotmail.com: The view expressed by Raymond Carver in Neighbors covers class structure, use of free time, and the role of Government in their (who's?) lives using minimal writing techniques to express feminism and Marxism. The class structure in Neighbors is best shown with Bob Miller, a bookkeeper, and Arlene Miller, a secretary. On the other hand, "Jim (Stone) was a salesman for a machine-part firms" and has a supposedly more socially accepted job. When it comes to free time, The Stones were always going out for dinner, or entertaining at home, or traveling about the country somewhere in connection with Jim's work. This shows a big difference in the lives that each family may lead based on their class structure and use of free-time..
