  1. ADMINS
  2.
  3. Determining site direction(Membership, Site design, Banning, deciding on new users to become staff, what type
  4. of writing we encourage). Direction of site policy. Spearheading site projects. Delegating to moderators and SS.
  5. If shit needs to be done, and isn't being done, an admin should be the one you go to to bear responsibility for it
  6. happening.
  7.
  8. Admins are in charge of directing the site (membership, site design, banning, staff promotions, etc.). They are the
  9. final word on site policy and are responsible for bettering the site by spearheading projects and delegating tasks
  10. to moderators and senior staff. If things are not happening and they need to, an admin should be the one you go
  11. to bear responsibility for it happening.
  12.
  13. MODS
  14.
  15. Mods can directly watch the forums and community to enforce admin decisions and bring up topics from the
  16. community to the admins they delete things most times, based on admin policy Carry out projects. Be the
  17. dragons to administrators. Direct enforcement that isn't banning; "moderation" of user behavior. In practical
  18. terms, primary responsibility for deleting pages (admins can also do this). Mods should be able to delegate to SS
  19. they can set minor site policy in line with the major admin decisions Mods should be expected to have input on
  20. site policy, even though admins determine direction & make final decisions. A mod that isn't giving policy input
  21. isn't doing his/her/their job. Miscellaneous practical stuff like moving threads, locking/unlocking pages. An
  22. obligation to look for site improvements such as rewrites. Also, if no admin is available, and a mod is, that mod
  23. should be able to make an interim decision on something, if it's an emergency.
  24.
  25. Mods should directly watch the forums and community to enforce admin decisions and general "moderation" of
  26. user behavior. They are responsible for direct enforcement of punishments that does not involve banning. They
  27. are also responsible for bringing up topics from the community to the administration. Mods are in charge of
  28. deleting pages, moving threads, locking/unlocking pages, and looking for ways to improve the site including rewrites. If no admins are available, mods are able to make interim decisions to be reviewed by other staff in the case of an
  29. emergency. Mods should give input on site policy, delegate tasks to senior staff, and carry out projects that
  30. improve the site.
  31.
  32. INDETERMINATE POSITION CURRENTLY LABELED SENIOR STAFF
  33.
  34. Staff carrying out the low level site policy that needs to be done frequently and providing good opinions and
  35. being relatively active to do it all. Writing is generally a plus, but we don't want to be all writers and lose out on
  36. competent folks who don’t write here. Staff are more specialized and can be trusted to watch over specific
  37. portions of the site.
  38.
  39. Staff are responsible for carrying out low level site tasks that need to be done frequently, providing their opinions
  40. related to the site, being relatively active and giving out critique on writing. Not all senior staff need to be writers, but it is generally considered a good things. Staff can be assigned to more specialized tasks/positions and can be trusted to watch over specific portions of the site.
