  1. History:
  2.
  3. 2351 AT: A solipsist AI lays claim to what will become the Bufo system. The system was observed far beforehand.
  4.
  5. 2353 AT: One planet in the habitable zone of both stars has been assessed as being suitable for an experiment. The creation of life.
  6.
  7. 2600 AT: The planet has flowing water, and an atmosphere better conducive to letting life flourish.
  8.
  9. 2745 AT: Life begins to be seeded.
  10.
  11. 2780 AT: The first provolves are added.
  12.
  13. 2800 AT: A single Darwinbot arrives in the Oort cloud of this system, and starts replicating, but the AI takes no attention to it... for now
  14.
  15. 3000 AT: The Darwinbot has reproduced several times in the Oort cloud, but is still not noticed by the AI. Meanwhile, on the surface, the AI begins toying with various lazurogens, to fill out more of the ecosystem.
  16.
  17. 3300 AT: First organized frog provolve civilization

  20. Deep lore:
  21. Aka apocryphal content, this content will not be added to the main EG page due to how far in the future some of this stuff is. This may change if the present date is changed.
  22.
  23. 100 - 450 years from present: Nearby terragen empires have deduced this system is now safe and the first wave are arriving in the system.
  24.
  25. 500 - ???? years from the present: At least one or more terragen clades arrive. The size of some them, compared to the frog provolves, initially causes many of them to simply hide, or even become hostile, due to the religious beliefs of some groups. However, after some time, the start of diplomacy was able to be worked out.
  26.
  27. ???? - ????: Technological innovations are given to the frog provolves to help hasten their speed to the stars. In addition, at least one clade of terragens modifies one group of biomechanicals to have a hydrocarbon bladder. While some members of this species go into the wild, and are hunted for hydrocarbons, others are domesticated, to allow for a farming of them.
  28.
  29. 20 million years into the future: Constrictor crashes into the planet, causing a mass extinction event. While the area it hits is in the northwestern hemisphere, which is mostly just a large archipelago, the entire planet is sent into an impact winter for a few decades. Provolve populations shrink rapidly, and some are dangerously close to extinction. However, due to incorporation in the galactic community, they are safe from a total extinction, and more advanced descendants of the original provolves start making mass exoduses to their homeworld to help those who stayed behind.
  30.
  31. 35 million years into the future: A bizarre mix of monotremes and basal archosaurs have in general become the dominant terrestrial tetrapods. Large platypus descendants take the roles of whales, seals, and in some cases, stuff like crocodiles and alligators. They have also gained the capacity for live birth, though some primitive members still lay eggs. Gigantic tortoises are not unheard of, and hero shrews have become heavily armored behemoths in some areas. Saint Bathans Mammal and any descendants it had, at least, any on this world, go extinct. Fake Men have left behind no descendants on this planet. Dicynodonts are some of the biggest animals on land, meanwhile, gorgonopsids are taking some roles akin to stuff like cats and other small mammalian carnivores. Dimetrodon become ambush predators that lurk in swamps. Meanwhile, near the equator, some volcanic activity is beginning to flare up, pushing up a previously sunken landmass further and further to the surface. It is suspected it may become a Zealandia-type scenario. Frog provolves still exist here, but populations of other provolves and other clades exist in smaller numbers as well.
