  1. Creation myth:
  2. Nefetria (Ne-Fe-Tree-uh) is small planet created long ago by the God Ammon and the Goddess Isis. The deep love they felt for one another breathed life into the small world, which to this day tell the tale of that creation. While various deities are worshiped on Nefetria, all life holds some knowledge and appreciation of Ammon and Isis; all except the followers of Apophis. Apophis is the god of chaos and brother of Ammon. Seeing him and his bride breath order and life into the world, he set upon it to bring about chaos. The fiends he unleashed upon the land to this day ravage certain areas of the world. After some time, Apophis brought forth a bastard child with a mortal, who he named Hastur. The embodiment of Apophis's Chaos, Hastur has no real form, and shrouds himself in a robe of yellow. Angered by his brother's actions, Ammon put Hastur to work as a god of the dead, forcing him to enter departing souls into the afterlife on the star Carcosa. However, Hastur hated and cursed his fate, mistreating the souls of the dead sent to his realm. Osiris, brother of Isis, could not stand to see these souls tortured wrongfully, and so began taking the souls of the virtuous to the star Duat, that they may be spared a fate of endless suffering at the hands of Hastur.

  4. Life:
  5. Wildlife on Nefetria mirrors much of the wildlife in North America, especially the less populated areas of the US, Canada, and Mexico. On top of that are many common fantasy creatures, most notable among them being the Chocobo used to travel the deserts of the south and the plains of the north. Among the civilized races not listed in the core rulebook are Sahkra (Large creatures that slightly resemble dragonborn, but with a rock motif. Think Aman from Tera), Syrinx (Owl people, some of which have wings, some of which have arms), and Jazora (Fish people, the men look like anthromorphic cat-fish, the women like LoZ Zoras. I'm not creative with names). Monsters in the world vary between common animal threats to the various fiends Apophis placed into the world to spread chaos into the kingdoms of men. Because of this, most major cities are surrounded by walls to protect them.
  6. Plant life on Nefetria varies from area to area, again mimicking much of the North American landscape. Notable among all plant life is the Tree of Life: Nimloth. It makes its home in the center of the great forest.

  8. Languages:
  9. Common (Ammon's Tongue), Elven, Dwarvish (Rocktongue), Infernal (Blightspeak), Goblin (Blightspeak with a really bad accent), Syrinx (Isis' Tongue), Jazira (Language used primarily by the small desert islands), Undercommon, Draconic (Language of Magic). If your races language isn't listed here, it's been changed to one of these, just check with me on character creation.

  11. Backstory:
  12. Your character has spent the last few years living in Alqamar, a small town to the south of one of the two great kingdoms of the land, Cairo. Whether you grew up there, or recently moved to the town is up to you, so long as you have been there a while. You and all the other PCs have become friends over time, and often spend your free time together. Your alignment can fall anywhere but evil, and I'd prefer it stay off chaotic unless you have a good reason for it. Because you are level one, while you may have had minor past exploits, you are largely inexperienced in the ways of the world as far as adventuring goes. Keep that in mind when coming up with character ideas, and have fun.
