  1. Evie ❤✿: I'm thinking of making a thread about overanalysis and obsession; spanning as far back as the 1983 ゼビウス1000万点への解法 ("How to Score 10 Million Points in Xevious") (one of first strategy guides) and how the source code was compromised. Edit about an hour ago

  3. Evie ❤✿: The irony is I overanalyze things myself. And this potentially gets philosophical. "The Game Freaks Who Play with Bugs" was published in a Japanese philosophy book regarding Xevious. www.kinephanos.ca/2015/game-freaks-who-play-with-bugs/ about an hour ago

  5. Evie ❤✿: I've always wondered (since learning this) if that is where Game Freak Co. got their name. about an hour ago

  7. Evie ❤✿: Right now I just don't have the energy. Thinking about it, a lot of threads on NinDB are long, deep, and general (as this forum is often about Nintendo as a whole); maybe that's partly why it's a little sleepy at times. about an hour ago

  9. Evie ❤✿: Compared with something like a forum dedicated to Mario, it might simply be "what's your favourite Mario character?" etc. about an hour ago

  11. Evie ❤✿: (Or well ours threads might be about gaming as a whole, general news e.g. releases, and cameos; where knowledge of cameos requires more knowledge of multiple franchises. So, age might come into play here.) about an hour ago
  12. x
  13. Evie ❤✿: (Because as people get older, there are more opportunities for experience of playing and learning about a variety of franchises for this knowledge; however, some people learn at a faster pace than others) about an hour ago

  15. Evie ❤✿: (And there is a neologism I use called the "Peanuts effect", it starts out like 'I like the character/I'm a fan' but then as people get older they might overanalyze; and covertly people are expected to be knowledgable) about an hour ago

  17. Evie ❤✿: Although, I tend to like smaller close-knit communities with complex discussions. about an hour ago

  19. Evie ❤✿: Being on the autism spectrum (high functioning autism); I like conversations that consider more holistic details - and I tend to mask fitting in with large communities sometimes, but honestly I like to have a few friends (often older) to talk about about an hour ago

  21. Evie ❤✿: complex things. about an hour ago

  23. Evie ❤✿: OK this is disappointing. I was writing an article reviewing a third party game, but Firefox crashed. I'll have to write it another time (never mind). Basically Sanrio Timenet is much harder than Pokémon (but like classic Mega Man some people liked it) 13 minutes ago *

  25. Evie ❤✿: In the sense that, they would work together to find strategies (like how in Mega Man you memorise patterns); not just relying on things like Charizard's Fire Blast in Pokémon but they might use moves like Counter to beat the final boss. 11 minutes ago
  26. x
  27. Evie ❤✿: As the pair of final bosses are at Level 99. Also you have to do quite a bit of grinding at the start (similar to MOTHER series). 11 minutes ago

  29. Evie ❤✿: Finally, these games have Yami Imagineer/Sanrio moments. Similar to Tomato Adventure. The manga Bouken Jikuu Timenet is even off-colour, but at least they decided not to include Sanrio's characters in it; only original Timenet characters/monsters. 10 minutes ago
  30. x
  31. Evie ❤✿: As Tomato Adventure looks cute, but some of the themes are quite dark. An example is one of the moves in Sanrio Timenet is called Blood Gas. There is also a monster with a mutilated face. 9 minutes ago
  32. x
  33. Evie ❤✿: On hindsight however; I might not write that article - I covered enough points here in brevity and don't need to elaborate more in a thread unless I want to later. 8 minutes ago

  35. Evie ❤✿: The other thing I'd like to add, is that despite this there seems to be a lot of depth to the worldbuilding and like Pokémon, the battle system, the items, moves, music, locations, etc.; combined there is a complex. 5 minutes ago
  36. x
  37. Evie ❤✿: They carried over great worldbuilding to the spiritual successor Space-Net: Cosmo Red/Cosmo Blue too (and the cancelled Cosmo Neo, and the obscure discontinued i-mode game Uchuu Patrol). While easier than Sanrio Timenet in my opinion, some parts 4 minutes ago

  39. Evie ❤✿: are still hard though. Lastly, the version differences for Sanrio Timenet are unique. Based on the Past/Future, locations will change (for instance, the past school becomes a haunted house in the future), and you'll find different real Sanrio characters 3 minutes ago
  40. x
  41. Evie ❤✿: as trainers based on the version. Monsters you encounter change too. And there are hidden monsters (other than the event ones, there are some while appearing are quite hard to get). Also, I think they had in mind Menko Cards(?) 2 minutes ago
  42. x
  43. Evie ❤✿: A lesser-known fact is that Pokémon was considered to be like this at an early point. Basically, once you beat a Trainer you get to take one of their monsters. One of the monsters called Zagurin is only obtainable by taking it from your rival. 1 minute ago

  45. Evie ❤✿: (That was a long set of messages in the Shoutbox. If you're interested make sure to read them all)
