- >Day ### in Equestria - Anon POV
- >You'd gotten yourself a job with the Wonderbolts.
- >More or less.
- >Spitfire had insisted that you be head of administrations at the Wonderbolt stadium in Canterlot.
- >She had a position like a queen.
- >Someone else ran most of the going-ons, but you still wouldn't be stupid enough to tell the queen 'no' would you?
- >That orange pegasus had feelings for you, you could tell.
- >But you were with Rainbow.
- >She knew that.
- >Why did she keep making advances on you?
- >Not much you could do about it though.
- >At any rate, it was a VERY well-paying job.
- >This could get messy fast though.
- >Captain of the Wonderbolts AND the element of Loyalty fighting over you?
- >Shit son.
- >"Hey Anon, how's it goin?"
- >You snapped to.
- >You hadn't heard Sorain come in.
- >You'd been sitting at your desk, contemplating life again.
- "Oh! Hey Sorian. Sorry, was... lost in thought."
- >"I could see that. Anything I can do to help?"
- "No, I don't think so. I appreciate the offer though. What brings you here?"
- >"The Princess has a schedule she'd like you to review. It's on its way here."
- "Ok. Not that I don't enjoy seeing you Sorian, but mail would've gotten it to me one way or another."
- >"Yeah... There's something else..."
- "Whats up?"
- >"It's... Spitfire."
- "What about her?"
- >"She uh... Well... she got into a fight..."
- "Again? Boy, PR is gonna have a field day with her..."
- >"With Rainbow Dash..."
- >God dammit.
- -------------------
- "Great. Did Fleetfoot sort them out?"
- >"Yeah, for now. We don't know who started it, but we've separated them and have them calmed down at least."
- "Not calmed by much I take it?"
- >"No, not really."
- "Ok... Let's go get them."
- >You head down the stairs and find the lobby where Rainbow and Spitfire had apparently gone at it.
- "Wait over here. If things start getting ugly, I want you to intervene; but until then, I want to avoid violence, ok?"
- >"Right."
- >You walk to the center of the room.
- >Rainbow had been seated on a bench on one side, and Spitfire had the same fate on the other side of the room.
- >Angry glares were apparent.
- >When you broke their stares, they both started talking at once.
- >"She started it!"
- >"Bullspit, she started it!"
- >Incomprehensible babble continued for a few seconds, before you decided that enough was enough.
- "ENOUGH! Now then, we'll settle this in my office. Upstairs, now."
- >"But-"
- "MARCH."
- >They exchanged angry glares with each other, then made their way towards the stairs.
- >As they were going up the stairs, you could hear the arguing starting up again.
- >It's just gonna be one of those days.
- >You looked around the room, and proceeded to regret doing so.
- >Fleetfoot was over on a bench, he looked pretty roughed up.
- "Fleetfoot, you ok?"
- >"Yeah, I'll be fine."
- "Did you see what happened?"
- >"Not really. Heard a crash, and when I came up here, those two were going at it."
- >Wonderful.
- "All right, looks like I've got a busy day ahead of me. Can you two get some ponies over from maintenance?"
- >"Yeah. Where you off to?"
- "My office. Someones gotta deal with the two destroyers."
- >"Good luck."
- >Yeah, one of those days.
- -------------------
- >You leave the disaster zone, and head back up to your office.
- >The two pegasi are already arguing, better diffuse the situation before your office starts to resemble that of a war zone.
- >You open the door, and the arguing ceases.
- "Oh, don't stop on my account. The two of you were doing an absolutely AMAZING job downstairs."
- >You shut the door as the bitter words crossed your lips.
- >They both remain silent, and are making an effort to avoid eye contact with you.
- >You sit down in your chair behind your desk.
- >It was a custom made chair, considering you were the only human in Equestria.
- >A perk of the job, no less.
- >A job that wasn't all fun and games; much to your dread on more than one occasion.
- >But it paid well. REALLY well.
- >So you muscled on.
- "So, either of you want to tell me what happened?"
- >They both look at you and start talking at the same time.
- >Yup, saw that coming a mile away.
- "Ok ok, bad idea. Spitfire, you're supposed to be the role model here, so you start."
- >"I was just minding my own business in the lobby, when your cyan stalker pony over there started accusing me of harassing you!"
- >"I DID NOT!"
- "RAINBOW! You'll get your turn! Am I going to have to make you wait out side? I really don't want to have to do that."
- >Rainbow quieted down once more.
- >You'd swear you could see the raw hate towards a pony she had idolized in her childhood.
- "Thank you. Now then, Spitfire, you were-- DON'T INSTIGATE!"
- >Spitfire was sticking her tongue out at Rainbow.
- >Not helping, dammit.
- -------------------
- >Spitfire put her tongue away, and you could see the thought forming in Rainbow's head.
- "Don't even think about it Rainbow."
- >She looked at you with a sorry expression on her face, then resumed the stare of death at Spitfire.
- "Now then, you were saying, Spitfire?"
- >"I was saying how your little stalker friend--"
- "No name calling."
- >"...Rainbow Dash, came up to me and started calling me a sexually frustrated stalker!"
- "And what did you do?"
- >"I did the only thing that popped into my head. I corrected her."
- "So, you insulted her?"
- >"..."
- "What did you say?"
- >"I said that she was the sexually frustrated one, and that you deserve a better special somepony!"
- >Rainbow was fuming.
- >It reminded you of the Estrus, when she had to keep other ponies AND herself off of you.
- >She does have the capability of self-control, but it takes some damn extremes.
- >"And then you tackled her, right?"
- >"... maybe a little."
- "Ok then, Rainbow, it's your turn. Now Spitfire, I expect the same respect Rainbow gave you when you were telling your side of the story."
- >"My side of the story! There's no story here, what I said happened!"
- >You gave her a cold, deadpan stare.
- >She shut up.
- "Now then, Rainbow? If you'd be so kind."
- -------------------
- >"Gladly! I was walking up to see you, when SHE came up and started on about how much better off you'd be with her than me."
- "Why were you coming to see me?"
- >"...I wanted to surprise you..."
- "Ok, moving on."
- >"...err, right. She was going on about how much better she was than me, so I told her that she was just mad cause I was with the only human in Equestria."
- >"Ha!"
- "Spitfire! You had your turn, now it's Rainbow's. Continue, Rainbow."
- >"ANYWAY, she started calling me sexually frustrated since you're not a stallion, and that you deserved better than me."
- "And then the fighting started?"
- >"...yeah."
- >You put your elbows on the desk in front of you, and your hands on your temples.
- >This was gonna be just tons of fun.
- "Ok. Spitfire, you go to the track and cool down. Rainbow, you go wait for me in the lobby."
- >"But-"
- "NO BUTS! OUT!"
- >The two pegasi held their heads low, but obeyed.
- >Being the administrator of the track meant you held the power here, even over Spitfire.
- >She knew that, and she knew that you'd use that power over her if you had to.
- >That was probably the only reason she was listening to you.
- >You sit at your desk, and weigh the options.
- >On the one hand, you've got a pony who could potentially get you fired.
- >And on the other, you've got your special somepony.
- >
- >And there doesn't seem to be a way to get them both happy.
- >
- >Fun times indeed.
- -------------------
- >You walked out of your office.
- >Maybe some fresh air will bring some fresh ideas on how to solve this.
- >You walked around the large 5th floor, trying to think clearly.
- >Fleetfoot flew up the stairs, and over to you once he saw you.
- >"So, how'd it go?"
- "About like you'd expect."
- >"They both blame each other?"
- "Dead on. Any advice on how to deal with her? She is YOUR sister after all."
- >"Not really. Usually Spitfire wound up getting what she wanted, or just being really mad for a while."
- >A while.
- >Not the term you were hoping for.
- "Well shit. I'm in for a wild ride then, huh?"
- >"Yeah."
- "Alright then. I'd better prepare myself. Would you mind going and trying to talk to you sister for a while? Maybe calm her down some? I've gotta talk to Rainbow."
- >"Sure thing, but I'm not going to tell her that you're not interested in her. I value my health."
- "Fair enough. I'll be in my office with Rainbow if you need me."
- >You both went down to the lobby.
- >Fleetfoot continued on to the track, while you found Rainbow.
- >She looked like she had been crying for a while.
- "Hey Rainbow, I think we've got some things to talk about."
- >She looked up at you, tears in her eyes.
- "Come on Dashie, lets go somewhere where we can talk."
- >You didn't even get a punch for the pet name.
- >Spitfire must've really gotten to her.
- -------------------
- >You made your way back up to your office, and sat down in one of the chairs in front of your desk, turning it to face Rainbow.
- "So."
- >Damn this was going to get difficult if she started crying.
- "Whats with the tears, Dashie?"
- >"She's right! You deserve better than me."
- >You're taken by surprise at that.
- >This isn't like Dash.
- "Rainbow, if anyone here deserves better, it's you."
- >"Wh- What?"
- "I'm not a pegasus. I'm not even a pony. I can't do anything you can; and lately I've been causing you more stress than anything."
- >"Don't ever say that. You're the best special somepo-- someone that I could ask for."
- "Really? I have a pretty terrible schedule; I'm almost never home when you are, and when I am home, I'm usually sleeping."
- >"I don't care! You're my special someone, and I wouldn't give you up for anything in this world or the next!"
- >You take Rainbow in one of your deathly bear hugs.
- "I'll fix all this, I promise."
- >"I know. You always do."
- >She returns your embrace full force.
- >You hold the hug for a couple minutes, enjoying the simplicity of the moment.
- >Just you and Rainbow.
- >Nothing else.
- >Nopony else.
- "I'll see you at home, ok? I've got to go tell Spitfire about my new job."
- >"New job? What do you mean?"
- "I'm quitting Rainbow. I'm not going to do this to you any more. I'll take a job working for the Apples if I have to."
- >"But--"
- "No buts. You're not going to suffer any more because of me."
- >You pull her in close for a hug before sending her off.
- -------------------
- >You filled out the paperwork, and sealed it in an envelope labeled for Spitfire.
- >You sent a copy of the paperwork to the owner of the stadium, just to be safe.
- >You made your way to the track, and found Spitfire and Fleetfoot chatting.
- >She seemed calm now.
- >Maybe this'll be a little easier?
- >As you approached, Fleetfoot piped up.
- >"Anon! Good to see you! How'd your chat with Rainbow go?"
- >Spitfire flinched a little at the mention of Rainbow's name, but restrained herself.
- "Pretty good, thanks for asking. I'm glad you're here, I'll need a witness for what I'm about to say."
- >You've caught the unwavering attention of Spitfire and Fleetfoot now.
- >Don't fuck up.
- >"Well go on handsome, don't let us stop you."
- >That little bit from Spitfire was all the motivation you needed.
- "I quit."
- >Fleetfoot's jaw dropped, and Spitfire didn't seem to acknowledge what you said as having meaning.
- >"Please. You can't just quit."
- "You're right."
- >She smirked to herself.
- "I already have. The paperwork is on my desk. I've already had my belongings sent home."
- >Her smirk disappeared just as quick as it had arrived.
- >"You're bluffing."
- "Try me."
- >"This isn't about my little disagreement with Rainbow, is it?"
- "Yes. That's exactly what it's about. I'm done with you going out of your way to ruin what I have with Rainbow. Fleetfoot, it's been a pleasure, and I hope to see you and the rest of the Thunderbolts around sometime."
- >Fleetfoot finally came to terms with what you said.
- >"See you around Anon. Sorry it had to end like this."
- "Me too."
