  1. After stopping the count many years ago at around 500 of these kinds of experiences I've come to the conclusion that it's basically "Same shit, different name" they all lead to the non-physical, where dreams exist.
  2.
  3. Though this is my current belief and I'm hoping that something will happen to change it, I would love for it to be true because it would have great implications regarding our idea of consciousness and we'd have a lot of new ground to explore but so far this is the one I hold.
  4.
  5. There's mostly three different kind of experiences that people talk about and it's OBEs, AP and LD.
  6.
  7. Some things that are different about them that I've observed is:
  8.
  9. * The way you make the transition.
  10. * The environment you transition into.
  11. * The clarity of your senses(foggy vision, can’t hear, etc.).
  12. * The lucidity/awareness of the situation you have.
  13. * The control you have.
  14.
  15. OBEs are to the room and often in combination with sleep paralysis and trying to stay awake and using a body focused technique. You usually transition into your room from this and often with low lucidity/clarity, you feel slow to thought and your senses are dull but you can experience flying in your room and even seeing your own body in the bed because you expect it to be there.
  16.
  17. Astral Projections are often someplace that's not your room. It can be somewhere else in this world or in a place you've never seen before. This is generally high lucidity, high clarity but limited control. When someone tries to have an astral projection they have expectations that it’s a real place somewhere and since they think it's "real" they can't control it. This means they’re subconsciously holding themselves from the very beginning.
  18.
  19. Lucid Dreaming is what I generally call all of this unless using "The non-physical". Lucid dreams are often high lucidity, high clarity and a great potential for almost limitless control. It's often someplace that's not your room just and it can just happen when something in a normal dream sparks your awareness and triggers lucidity. It can be somewhere else in this world or in a place you've never seen before. Lucid dreaming is where you don't limit yourself and can have the most amazing experiences.
  20.
  21. I like to think about the different experiences as ways of traveling to another country. You can take the bus, boat or plane, however, it's the same place when you arrive.
