  15. Now... this is admittedly a fairly interesting thing. I got to play with VR in the last jump, so an artificial reality seems to be the natural evolution that follows. And isn't that something I've seen in my chain? I find something neat, and then come across a more advanced version, or I end up in a place where I find what I sorely needed in the previous. Well, this fits both of those departments, honestly.
  16.
  17. But in the end, despite everything that's interesting, the game is a game and I can't let myself be distracted by its details. Human? Sure. Craftsman? Even with the ability to learn fantastic things, it's a bit silly. Better to plumb its depths than gain a broad understanding. With that comes its own advantages, of course; learning new ways to do what I could do, learning how to manipulate the raw energy of souls, which gives interesting insights as to my own nature. Moreover, learning how to play with the local type of magic... the local technology. Learning how they interact, and bringing that understanding into what I could already do.
  18.
  19. But no, even with all of that, the real payoff is the data stick labelled "Future Data". Countless and massive amounts of data about this world... and every other I've visited. The technologies and magics that they have. What they will have, in the future after I leave them, hundreds or thousands of years away. While the minutiae of this world doesn't hold a great deal of interest, what I HAVE learned will pay off. In spades. But despite everything, I don't really have the time to untangle it myself.
  20.
  21. But then, that's what the Magi Triumvirate is for. Why invest my time when I have three supercomputers to do it for me? They can untangle in a decade what would take me dozens of centuries, after all - they've been doing that all this time, managing the upgrades to Hyperion.
