 -if looks could kill, you'd be dead. when you're with ava, you'll know when you are doing something wrong or something that annoys her. you can also tell on which level of annoying you are to her. first, the 'you're annoying but i can live with it annoying." when you're at this level, ava will have a resting bitch face (she always has a resting bitch face but moving on,) she'll also let out large sighs and the occasional rolling of the eyes. and lastly, the 'i will tell you how annoying you are and leave the room. oh and don't come looking for me' annoying. notice how there are only two levels of annoying-ness for ava. even if you cough while you're in the same room as her you're almost in the 'i will tell you how annoying you are and leave the room. oh and don't come looking for me' annoying. all in all, ava just found everyone and thing annoying and will tell you. ava is also quite the risk taker. she's done everything from skydiving to swimming with sharks. this dare devil is also known for pulling others in to her antics. if ava was in danger and you wee within ten feet of her, you were in danger as well. fun right? many would infer that she would never get a boyfriend, but ava could prove you wrong in a second. her flirting skills are 11/10. she'll start off with pretending to hate you but in a playful way. classic flirting. to make it subtle, ava would become friends with your friends so she could get close to you but won't come off too desperate. and after the two of you are close enough to be friends, she'll go in for the kill. you see, ava has a way with words. whether it be her tone, word play, or how she put her words in order to make it sound pleasing, she could do it all. despite her having a plethora of boyfriends and a couple of girlfriends, ava never made it pass first base with her significant other. ava is also a very good critical thinker. need a hammer? sh could make one out of anything that was around her, even if it was marshmallows and q-tips. when she was in deep thought, or right brain, she said nothing and let her hands do all of the work. are you still intimidated by ava? yeah you should be. but to lighten the way you  think about her, i'll inform you about all the things that make her smile, or at least less intimidating. ava has two weak spots. her brother and animals. whenever she sees them, her face lights up and glows as if she just found out that she got a scholarship to an ivy league school. a cheerful and ecstatic countenance appears on her face as her eyes curl up into half moon shapes. her mood also takes a shift and she'll even find you less annoying. wow. what a time to be alive. in addition to that, if you've grown close to her as a friend, and not just a friend so that she can hit on you, but as a genuine friend, ava will be very protective over you no matter what.

 -ava grew up spoiled and joyful in the state of florida. her parents loved her, actually now that i think about it, everyone loved her. she was just that regular 'ol clueless and curious three year old that would touch everything they saw, even if it looked dangerous. ava thought that she couldn't be happier at the time. and she couldn't. she turned seven. at her extravagant birthday party, which was jonas brothers themed, her parent revealed that they were having a baby. a boy to be exact. immediately, she sprinted out of the room crying and screaming. this was the thing that she feared the most. even though she was only seven, she knew enough. her classmates had told her that when you get a younger sibling, you would be forgotten and all the attention and love would go to the sibling. and that was her biggest fear. being left alone. whether it be alone in her room, or her being excluded, she hated it all. the following nine months were the longest nine months of her life. they were also the longest nine months of her mother's life. ava spent her days exasperating and pestering her mom with ways to keep the baby in her stomach, or at least change the gender, because having a baby and a boy on top of that would be horrendous. and finally, on march 18, 2001, her baby brother was born. how disgusting. he was fat, wet, and hairless. or that's what ava thought. she was blinded by the fact that she would be left alone, making her brother seem like a total monster. she was even wrong on her being left out because she got to see the baby before her dad, who had actually been there during the laboring part, but ran to the bathroom right before the baby came out. when ava reluctantly and sluggishly made her way into the room, she was blown away. her baby brother, who was just named aaron, was actually kind of cute. she noticed that they had the same eyes which turned into a half- moon shape when they smiled. that was also something that ava had noticed. aaron smiled ever since he came out the womb instead of crying. she thought nothing of it at the time, but she didn't realize that it would be such a big deal until she turned thirteen. aaron was five when they found out that he had pseudobulbar. this disease made aaron display emotions for no reason like laughing even when he didn't find anything funny or crying at an inappropriate time. ever since then, ava was very over-protective over aaron. (will go more in depth in the 'brother' section) even after her brother was born, ava still had a fear of being alone. she liked to call it her third arm. this fear was attached and would control the way she acted or responded to certain situations. to combat her fear, she tried to surround herself with people. she was the social butterfly of her middle school. she knew everyone and everyone knew her. when she turned fifteen, she moved to korea because her dad had some business to attend to there. they were originally going to stay there for a couple of weeks, but they fell in love with the country and decided to live there. and of course, like anyone would feel, ava was very against it. she had spent a good two years working her way up the social ladder at her school just to move somewhere else to be alone again. her first day of school was even worse than when she found out that her mother was pregnant. everyone looked at her weird and whispered as she walked pass them. it was like those korean dramas that she binge watched when she was supposed to be doing her homework. everyday after that was the same for the next two months. and no, things did not get better. yes, she had made a few acquaintances from trying to fight against her third arm but they all left except for two after hearing about her brother. ava felt like trying was useless. if she tried, everyone could tell that she was trying. trying to fit in. trying to seem okay. in response to that, ava stopped trying. before she knew it, she had grown a 'fourth arm.' this arm repelled others rather than attracting them. she glared at everyone and honestly didn't care. she could rip her shirt in front of a huge crowd and shrug it off like it was nothing. apparently guys seemed to like that side of her and she took advantage of it by flirting back. everyone at her school thought that she could have sex with anything that had a penis, but the only thing she could get to is a peck on the cheek or holding hands before her significant other(s) got scared of her. she made them swear that they wouldn't tell anyone that they had ended it or else she'd rip out their hearts and stuff it down their esophagus. miraculously, she graduated high school, and got accepted into a small run-of-the-mill college. ava was actually good at studies, she just decided to hide it so that her badass persona wouldn't be tainted with straight As. during her time in college, she discovered an interest in animals and anatomy. ava would say that she adored animals simply because they were o' so cute, but that wouldn't fit 'badass ava.' ava took all the classes that were required to get a degree to become veterinarian.
family:
 -mother//mai ly tran// fairly close, ava doesn't talk to her as much as before but her mother assures her that she'll always be there for her. ava can always count on her mother when her dad won't let her go out with her friends. what can i say, mother knows best. in addition to that, her mother trusts ava to make the right decision. she even let ava hold aaron when he was a baby before anyone else. if that isn't trust, i don't know what is. although her mother nags quite a bit, ava couldn't have asked for another mother.// during the purge, her mother was at home. being the forgetful person she is, ava's mom didn't realize that that purge would have arrived so early. but she wasn't worried. even though her daughter wasn't much of a talker, she knew that ava had great critical thinking skills. but that wasn't a reason to sit back an relax. aaron, wasn't exactly the same as ava. she imagined that aaron would cry. but this time he would be crying because he was actually scared. her life? meh. as long as knew her children were safe, she could die happily.
 -father//minh chanh tran// he is quite distant from ava. this is because he was the reason that the family had to move to korea, transforming ava into a badass delinquent from a social butterfly. and to add on to that, he was against ava acting the way she was, enlarging the gap between them. their only connection with each other was aaron and her mother. her father absolutely adored her mother and put her before ava and aaron. aaron was his second favorite. ava hated how her dad even had favorites in the first place. but despite all of this he wasn't all that bad. he worked hard and tried to spend time with the family as much as he could. // during the purge, he is at his workplace in seoul, and stays there the whole time after being restrained from getting back to his beloved wife. of course he was also worried about his own life and kept a bat and a slipper with him at all times.
 -brother//aaron tran// aaron is ava's most prized possession. if aaron died, she would have died as well. ava was also aaron's most prized possession. if ava died, he would have died too, but ava wouldn't let him do that. aaron depended on ava quite a bit but also wanted some independence from her. (i would put more in this section but everything will be in the 'brother' section)// during the purge, her brother is stuck at school. this is a good thing because there are an abundance of adults and even police officers because they knew that the purge was coming. although he had a wall of protection around him, ava couldn't help but worry.

friends:
 -choi minkyung// minkyung was the first friend that ava made in korea.  and to anyone's surprise, they didn't meet at her high school. ava met her while she was trying to steal a pack of pads from the convenience store with the mindset of "i can't hold in my period, so why should i pay?" as the cashier started chasing after her, minkyung "accidentally" pushed over the shelf of canned spam and gave the poor man a concussion and ava a free pack of pads. they've been best friends ever since. they have a "tough love" relationship. always being sarcastic and glaring at each other, the two seemed the most distant, but they were actually the closest. they always backed each other up and helped each other in arguments, even if they were wrong.// during the purge, minkyung is in her car, a couple of miles from the library that ava is at. since minkyung was the only one in the group that could drive, she had to drive ava everywhere. and she didn't even charge gas money. as she realized that the purge was taking place, she kind of went a little insane. paranoid and anticipating everything, she hid in the trunk of her car and was prepared with a broken beer bottle in her hand. (yes, she's still a minor, but she could pass for a 21-year-old at convenience stores.)
 -min hansung// hansung is the most energetic and ebullient person you will ever meet. hearing this, many will think that opposites attract. but it turns out that he just reminded ava of aaron and it felt like she was with her little brother all of the time. but don't get me wrong, that's not the only reason that ava is friends with him. he's very comfortable to be around and took things that were meant to be jokes very seriously, which she found cute. ava obviously didn't tell him any of that. all in all, their relationship was just like any other pair of siblings, nagging, bullying, and love all at the same time.// hansung was in the comfort of his not-so-humble abode when the purge started. stuck in his mansion for twenty four hours didn't seem that bad to him until he realized that being rich, more people would want to steal from them and hid behind the front door ready to whoop anyone who went through the door.

comrades:
 -liepas// liepas was stuck to ava. almost like her fifth arm. that's 5/8 of an octopus, and ava wasn't planning on becoming one. ava was immediately annoyed by her new arm and tried to avoid her at all times. leipas always hid behind her when a loud noise echoed in the libray or when she bumped into something. leipas knew that she was annoying to ava and felt sorry, but she just couldn't help it. after a while, ava didn't mind it as much, in fact, ava was starting to become protective over her. liepas was also the only person in the library who knew about her and her two personalities. everyone else thought she was a rude, bitch with "no chill." whenever someone yelled at liepas for messing up, ava would stand up for her stating how liepas was just trying to help and was doing her best for the group. in addition to that, ava was always there to trash talk about her ex, veidrodis. liepas wasn't for it at first, saying how immature it was, but she just went with it after ava nagged her for ten minutes about it. the two would always bump into him and gave him the stank eye afterwards. lastly, whenever liepas got emotional she would always calm her down and would spend hour talking to her to try to cheer her up.
 -veidrodis// ava hated him because he was her baby, liepas', ex-boyfriend. there was always something wrong with him to her. it could have been his voice, or simply the shirt he was wearing, there was just something weird about it. and it was the bad weird. agitated on how he even got himself to break up with liepas, she would always bring him down. whenever he had an idea, she would disagree with him and send him a smirk afterwards. veidrodis, on the other hand, was intrigued by the way ava was acting. whenever she acted out against him, he would mutter "that's hot." under his breath. veidrodis would openly flirt with ava in front of everyone, but ava just figured that it was a way to make liepas jealous and thought nothing of it. after realizing that that tactic wasn't working, he tried to be his version of "nice," and helped ava with everything. and as usual, she was annoyed. no, more than annoyed. exasperated, furious, there were no words for this feeling. she didn't need another liepas with her (not that having a liepas was a bad thing, ava just didn't want anyone else following her around anywhere.) veidrodis just stressed her out. so in response to veidrodis' clingy-ness, she took him aside and gave a good lecture about how she hated just being in the same place as him and having to be with him for the whole day, if i got into more detail, you'd despise ava for the rest of your life. after that talk, veidrodis didn't dare go near her, afraid that she would cut off his penis. (yes, that was one of her threats.)
 -veidrodis love interest ending 2// ava still gave him that lecture but his reaction was different from the first scenario. he was hurt. he wondered how someone could muster up the strength to say such things. as ava turned to leave, he said "ok fine leave, you heartless bitch." ava was fine with anyone calling her anything but not heartless. things were very awkward between the two afterwards. they both hated each other with a vehement passion. veidrodis couldn't take the awkward atmosphere and the two just talked it out. i guess you could say that they were okay with each other now. ava was able to talk to freely, without any worries, except for when liepas was around. after talking to him enough, she started to develop feelings for him, no matter how hard she tried to brush them off. she couldn't handle the guilt of dating one of her best friend's ex- boyfriend, that was the girl code of honor. vedrodis helped ava through her guilt happily.
 -kraujas//  although she had only talked to him one before in her sophmore year of high school, she absolutely loathed him. he felt the same way. it was as if he was her twin brother. and ava thought that there was no need for another one. every second that they spent with each other was a competition. always trying to one up one another, they both did the most outrageous things, causing them to get in trouble together. and when they did get in trouble, they would always blame it on each other with the "you started it," or "why do you always pull me in with you?" surprisingly, the two worked well together. they just didn't know it, and if they sensed it, they would completely deny it. if ava was doing something, kraujas would do something unconsciously that would compliment what ava was doing. the others wouldn't say anything about it because they knew about ava and kraujas' rivalry and thought that they would break their necks if they spoke out about their great involuntary teamwork.
 -lelija// ava surprisingly didn't mind lelija as much as some of the other people in the group. occasionally, they would talk to each to each other, but that was only when they were assigned to do something together or when liepas was talking to lelija and ava subtly joined in on the conversations. what impressed ava the most was lelija's strength and independence. lelija just seemed to naturally give off a vibrant and comfortable aura, which ava wanted. ava was jealous. jealous on how everyone loved and gravitated towards lelija. the only reason why lelija was bearable to be around was because ava somewhat admired her.
 -vanduo// vanduo and ava didn't talk much. she honestly tried to stay away from anyone except for lelija, mirtis, and leipa (and veidrodis if you use him as her love interest.) vanduo didn't mind that she didn't interact with her as much either. the two just simply refrained themselves from talking, which was fairly simple. when she finds out that someone is out there to kill him, she starts to comfort him in the smallest way possible. sending him small smiles, or just encouraging him with "that was a good idea, i guess." (unless she's the one who wants to kill him.) except from that, she just acted like he wasn't there.
 -mirtis// the two really had no reason to talk to each other. one: they honestly didn't care about each other, and two: they were too busy and worried about other things. but strangely, ava wanted to talk to her. it was weird. she didn't mind that mirtis was similar to her but she hated the fact that she had the same personality as kraujas. ava aspired to be on mirtis' level of badass. because of her new role model, she would try to show how badass she was to impress mirtis without her noticing. the process was quite complicated. no matter how hard ava tried, mirtis was not fazed.
 -laikas// laikas bugged her a lot throughout those twenty four hours. to annoy her, all laikas did was be himself. 'a lazy ass who needs to get his priorities straight.' was how ava would describe him. she disliked how he made everyone else do the work while he coul sit back and relax like a king. she always wondered if he really cared if he died or not. laikas, was very scared of ava. it was a shame that he couldn't tell that ava was irritated by him and his lazy ways. he just assumed that being lazy was the only way to not interact with her, but he would have been better off if he had tried to interact with her. ava often scolded laikas in front of the audience of five (being the rest of her peers,) and even made him cry one.
purge:
 -when the purge was first announced the only thing that ran through her head was aaron. was he going to be okay? she prayed and prayed to god in hopes that he would make it out of the purge alive and that he was too young to die. if he died, she would have died too. either emotionally, or she would actually result in killing herself. rather than being scared or excited, ava was worried and eager to get out of the library safely and get to her brother's school. if she were to die that day, she would want to spend her last day with her brother. at the library, no one would let her outside because they were afraid that if they opened the door, people would be waiting outside, barge in, and then massacre them all. ava thought they were paranoid and fought as hard as she could until she simply just gave up. angry and furious at her peers, she didn't talk to them for the next five hours. although ava may seem like the type to, she couldn't kill. she was too cowardly, and hated blood. just the thought of it would give her a headache. also, she wouldn't have the emotional and physical strength to kill someone. during those twenty four hours she had wondered why people thought it was even okay to kill someone for no reason. just because it's legal, doesn't mean it's right. instead of hiding, she was just planning a way to get out of the library without haring anyone and letting anyone know. liepas soon caught onto her but understood completely and kept her mouth shut. if anyone in that library were to kill someone else and she knew who it was, she would automatically lost all respect for them and didn't even go near them.

brother:
 -her brother meant everything to her. and ava meant everything to her brother. aaron was, eccentric to many people. with his disease, pseudobulbar, everyone thought that he was mental and teased him a lot. they would say things like "you should be in a mental hospital," or call him names that aren't acceptable anywhere in the world like "retarded." aaron always laughed when they called him these names, making it seem like he enjoyed being made fun of. but on the inside, he was crying. he hated his didsease, and he hated his parents for not doing anything about it. but when he isn't getting picked on, he was full of wanderlust and curiosity. aaron wanted to be a scientist in the medical field to help people with pseudobulbar but on a lower budget, so that those people could afford the treatment. aaron learned everything from experience. even when ava warned him not to do something, he would do it anyways just to make sure, and ended up getting hurt most of the time. their relationship is unlike any other brother- sister relationship. rather than fighting with each other, they actually helped an depended on each other. ava would nag him about always forgetting to put on a jacket or to finish up that math worksheet that was due tomorrow. in return, whenever aaron got hurt, her parents would blame it on ava for not setting a good example. aaron would insist that none of this was ava's fault and would explain how she warned him and he should have listened to her. ava was also very over protective of her brother. aaron wasn't very good at handling his emotions so ava had to be there to calm him down. she also didn't like it when her brother was too overwhelmed with negative emotions, so she tried to keep him away from people with bad intentions to prevent that from happening. also, she wanted aaron to know that the outside world isn't like being at home. she always explains to him how there are people out there who want to harm him and that he's going to get his feelings hurt if he dies certain things. she never wants him to go through what she went through when they first moved to korea. inconsiderate people making rude remarks without any thought about how she would feel. ava also didn't want him to become like those people, selfless and didn't think before they acted. aaron really appreciates her concerns but he just wants to be independent ad experience things for himself, rather than having ava do it all for him.

 -i didn't know if you wanted a love interest for the characters, so i wrote the love interest for arbata in two ways: she rejects him; or, she ends up falling for him
 -i put liepas before veidrodis in the comrades section because it would make more sense if you read it in that order (i would think that you were fine with the slots being out of order, but i just wanted to let you know just in case)
 -i know you said that no names were needed for the family// friends but i just added them and i hope you're not against that :))
