- When I finished the series run last year, I was ecstatic that I had finished one of the craziest speedrunning feats ever devised, and vowed that should the series run occur in 2020, I would not do it. At the time, I had no idea if I would have the time, or the want to do it again.....obviously that all changed. Around February or March was when I began contemplating doing the series run again. I already knew the 37 games from the first one after all, and many of the new games I had experience with already, including Shield which I had just finished a co-op catch em all with my friend. I began routing, but opted not to tell anyone for a few weeks, as I thought I would drop it soon after i began working on it. Instead, as I worked more and more, I got more and more excited. Just like last year, the night before day 1 I got little sleep, as I was excited for what was to come.
- Over the course of 28 days (Specifically, 661:44:23 (hrs:min:sec)), I proceeded to complete 62 pokemon games, and capture 861 unique pokemon in a final game time of 378:59:38! I had a ton of fun, and while there were definitely moments of anger, frustration, and depression, they were outweighed by all of the fun moments I had. I won't go through every game, but in general every run went well! Here are some notable games though.
- - Pokemon Crystal was a trainwreck, just like last year. I will never speedrun crystal again, it can go fuck itself
- - Shadows of Almia went better than last year, but was still painful and slow.
- - Pinball: Ruby and Sapphire had iirc my first hype train of the run...I still don't know why.....I guess people
- like pinball?
- - Pokepark 2: Wonders Beyond had me perform a trick that was only discovered two hours prior, becoming the first
- person to do it on video. Then, later on I theorized another skip. While I could not get it myself, several hours
- later someone else did and now Rob Hops are an official skip in Pokepark 2
- - Platinum and conquest carts screwed with me, forcing me to emulate unexpectedly. This messed with me a bit, but
- otherwise went alright.
- - Sword, Shield, and LGP were plagued with joycon drift issues, screw switch joycons.
- - Entei LMFAO. I could make a ten minute video all about Entei (Maybe I will?!?!?!)
- So now, I want to thank people who helped me out.
- - Shoutouts to kiichii, wh0m, cinder, cheez, nacho, doctormiawoo, anthem, feranator, and anyone else I was in a vc
- with during the run. Nothing sucks more than not being able to talk to somebody vocally.
- - Shoutouts to all of my pokedex trackers! cascadia, web, furious, warning, wh0m, cinder, kiichii, cheez, and
- anthem! Because of you guys, marking pokemon off was much smoother and easier this year compared to last!
- - Shoutouts to everybody who chatted, whether you said hello to me once, only played hangman, and had deep
- conversations on the most random topics! I won't list anyone here because I could never remember you all and I
- would feel bad forgetting someone, but just now I thank you all so much!
- - Finally, shoutouts to everyone who donated bits, subbed, and gave out gift subs. When I started this series run,
- I knew there was a chance that I could get a few subs. When I say a few, I mean like....2......maybe 3.....yeah.
- Instead, I was shown that even in one of the darkest years the USA has faced in a long time, there are plenty of
- good people out there! I hope you all enjoy the emotes I have now, and I plan on adding new emotes for Tiers 1,
- 2, and 3 ASAP, as well as potentially new sub badges!
- So...now what? Well, as I have said many times during my series run, I plan on making myself primarily a pokemon
- speedrunner from now on. I enjoy running pokemon more than anything else nowadays, and so expect to see more
- pokemon runs! But what games? So, here's a list of all the games and my thoughts on running them.
- MAIN SERIES
- - Red/Blue: I want a sub 2 hour time, so yes, I will be running
- - Yellow: No plans for running anytime soon
- - Gold/Silver: Maybe? Probably not though.
- - Crystal: HA HA HA HA HA....Fuck that
- - Ruby/Sapphire: Probably will start running eventually, but no immediate plans
- - Emerald: Even less likely than R/S
- - Firered/Leafgreen: Probably not
- - Diamond/Pearl: YES, I want to run both glitched and glitchless too!
- - Heartgold/Soulsilver: YES, Similarly want to run both glitched and glitchless!
- - Platinum: Probably not, especially not if my cart continues to fail on me.
- - Black/White: I'm interested in running, but not a top priority
- - Black 2/White 2: Similar to Black/White, although it depends on if I'm doing 3ds manips. I'm not relying on doing drilbur manip
- on a 3ds halfway through a run.
- - X/Y: Probably not, I don't like the route
- - Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire: YES! This is actually likely to be my first project is getting a good time, specifically in AS
- - Sun/Moon/Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon: HA HA HA HA HA.....Fuck that
- - Sword/Shield: Entirely depends on joycons. If I get new joycons that don't drift, then I'd run Shield. Until then, no.
- SIDE SERIES
- - PMD (All of them): I will continue doing occasional PMD runs, but the only category I may grind out is BRT Unrestricted
- - Ranger (All of them): HA HA HA...no
- - Pinball/Pinball: R&S: No
- - Puzzle Challenge/League: probably no to challenge, but league I am interested in running! Maybe beyond easy as well!
- - Pokepark 1/2: YES!!!!! Pokepark 1 will likely be an early project for me!
- - Rumble/Rumble Blast: YES!!!!! Especially Rumble Blast, I want to get good!
- - Stadium/Stadium 2/Battle Revolution: No to Stadium 2, I want like a sub 1:40/1:45 in Stadium 1, maybe go for a decent time in BR?
- - Snap: Once in a while, but likely not going to grind out attempts.
- - Channel: I want to learn 100%, but probably won't try to improve any% too much
- - Let's Go Pikachu: NO!
- - Dash: Surprisingly, yes! I do want to actually get a decent time in dash!
- - Trozei: Also surprisingly, yes! I want a decent trozei time too!
- - Conquest: Probably not
- ` - Pokken: Probably will do more runs for a decent time, learn Chandelure for late game strats.
- - Colosseum/XD: Gale of Darkness: Once I have them on console, YES! I enjoy running them, but I am done running them on emulator
- - Typing Adventure: If I can get a keyboard working with the cartridge, yes! Maybe route 100%?!?!?!
- - TCG1/2: TCG2 I am probably done with, but TCG1 I wouldn't mind getting a good any% no ACE and a good any% time in!
- - Detective Pikachu: Probably won't grind it out, but a run here or there and maybe i can get a decent time!
- - Hey You, Pikachu: ;)
- With this, I think I am done! Good Luck to wh0misds and crrool who are doing their pkmn series runs soon, and I hope everyone enjoyed watching my pkmn series run and sticks around to enjoy all other pokemon content I do in the future!
