  3. Evike recites:
  4.
  5. "Welcome to the long awaited Zombies Class. Scripter Busting for your
  6. Fun and Frustration."
  7.
  8.
  9. Evike says, "The purpose of this class is to provide explanation and
  10. clarification of all policies and procedures for dealing with players who
  11. are non responsive AND gaining experience within the game."
  12. Chakram asks, "No profit?"
  13. Evike says, "No."
  14. Chakram exclaims, "I was lied to!"
  15. Evike says, "Sucks dude."
  16. Chakram nods to Evike.
  17. Evike says, "Definition of a "Scripter":."
  18. Evike says, "Any player using any method to gain skills, money or *ANY*
  19. other form of in game advantage while non responsive to the gaming
  20. environment."
  21. Evike says, "But let's clarify that, because using a script in and of
  22. itself its not a violation of policy. Idle scripts, AS LONG AS THEY ARE
  23. NOT GAINING EXPERIENCE are fine. Travel scripts, with that same caveat,
  24. are fine. Scripts, to do menial tasks are fine as long as they are
  25. responsive."
  26. Evike says, "Additionally, people using scripts that cause excessive screen
  27. scroll, messages that are inappropriate, or who are using bots that are
  28. unresponsive are subject to receiving warnings. This includes responsive
  29. characters that use these unresponsive bots. (This is listed under NEWS 5
  30. 17)."
  31. Evike says, "Other examples are Traders sitting by their open tables in the
  32. market or plaza, and also people crafting while not really there. It's not
  33. just limited to hunting."
  34. Evike asks, "Any questions so far on what does and does not constitute a
  35. scripting violation?"
  36. You shake your head.
  37. Lawlite shakes his head.
  38. Nohn shakes his head.
  39. Chakram shakes his head.
  40. Chakram shakes Koyta's head for her.
  41. Evike says, "Alright. You guys are mostly here for fun and giggles anyway."
  42. Evike pokes Chakram in the ribs.
  43. Evike says, "First, how do you find a scripter? We find them via several
  44. means: Scripters may be REPORTed by other players, they may be encountered
  45. by hosts/GM's doing assists/referrals, and you sometimes even find them
  46. when doing /rp scans. You'll also see other ways to identify them. Some
  47. of them are pretty silly about triggers, or announcing it to friends on the
  48. gweth or in whispers. Now, we're going to focus on a tool called /scripter
  49. scan. Right now type just /SCRIPTER by itself to see the syntax."
  50. Chakram says, "I need a refresher."

  62. Evike says, "When you've done that tell me."
  63. You say, "Done."
  64. Chakram nods.
  65. Koyta nods.
  66. Lawlite says, "Done."
  67. Nohn says, "Done."
  68. Evike fixes Nohn with a frank, even stare.
  69. Evike says, "Ok. It's pretty self explanatory."
  70. Chakram says, "Also: They said this was zombies, I thought this was about
  71. the Walking Dead."
  72. Evike says, "You won't use most of the stuff there anyway."
  73. Chakram grins.
  74. Evike says, "Go ahead and type /SCRIPTER SCAN so you can see what that
  75. looks like. It'll be a bit scrolly now with all these F2P people, but take
  76. a minute to look it over because we'll be talking about some of that
  77. information later."
  78. Chakram nods.

  848. (we'll talk about those) and one to double check for warnings within the
  849. last 365."
  850.
  851. Evike says, "Now you have the information you need in order to test this
  852. person for scripting. But, we like to watch them for at least five
  853. minutes, and you /IDLEd them right? I have two monitors so I can still
  854. watch while I research, but if you don't, its still good to go back and
  855. scroll up to see if they've talked or looked responsive during your
  856. research time. It can feel like a lot of work, but a scripting violation
  857. is serious stuff."
  858. Evike says, "You don't want to miss something pertinent and possibly put a
  859. 3 time scripter into 33 (Scripting Violation Limbo) just because his
  860. offenses were on other characters. At the same time, you don't want to set
  861. someone up for huge percentage loss when their last violation was in 2002.
  862. Be very careful when reading the CCC for account name changes as well, this
  863. indicates a character transfer, and still pulls up accordingly (because you
  864. should have OLD LOGS ASSOCIATED ticked). It doesn t always mean it's a new
  865. owner though."
  866. Evike says, "Real talk -- this can be very confusing and annoying."
  867. Evike says, "But, it's a chain, and we need to follow it."
  868. Evike asks, "Questions about any of that?"
  869. Chakram shakes his head.
  870. Lawlite shakes his head.
  871. You shake your head.
  872. Nohn shakes his head.
  873. Evike says, "Remember, scripting violations are a world in and of
  874. themselves, and the warnings are weighted separately from other types of
  875. warnings. We MAY weigh the rest of his record, but for the most part, it's
  876. a very straightforward set up."
  877. Evike says, "Now, we're back to looking at the scripter and you're getting
  878. ready to start testing the player. Lots of people have triggers that logs
  879. the player off the minute a 'SEND' comes across his screen, or the minute
  880. he's moved to another room. Some of them go into sleep mode the moment
  881. they get a 'SEND'."
  882. Evike says, "Some other common words and phrases that players trap for
  883. include: POLICY, AFK, A F K, 'LONG TERM', SCRIPTING, SCRIPT, $CRIPT,
  884. WARNING, TROUBLE, RESPOND, RESPONSE, CHANCE, 'OUT LOUD', ALOUD,
  885. ANNOUNCEMENT, SYSTEM, WHISPERS, SAYS, TODAY, PLEASE, 'YOU MUST', GM,
  886. REPORT, HOST, MASTER, MINUTE, and MINUTES. In addition to a whole slew of
  887. others now, with Genie's extensive and ever growing whitelist."
  888. Evike says, "Seriously, that thing gets bigger all the time."
  889. Evike says, "This is why it's important to try and be creative in your
  890. testing scripts. You may want to borrow a script from someone who has
  891. already had one approved, and then tweak it a bit to make it your own. For
  892. example, Persida has one that utilizes a bunny asking for a players to
  893. dance happy. Obviously if we have 12 GMs using the same script, even the
  894. most the unskilled scripters are going to learn to trap for the bunny."
  895. Persida does a happy little dance!
  896. Lawlite gets a Persida brain from inside his tiny pouch.
  897. Lawlite pokes his Persida brain.
  898. Persida sneezes!
  899. Evike says, "SHE TRAPPED FOR THAT."
  900. Lawlite puts his brain in his tiny pouch.
  901. Nohn chuckles.
  902. Evike says, "Take that idea as a model, and let's say one of you creates a
  903. mouse who wants cheese, one creates a snake looking for an egg, one has a
  904. sentient turban who needs a head to rest on... it gets slightly harder to
  905. trap for. When you create a unique testing script, please be sure that
  906. someone cleared for QC approves it before you use it."
  907. You raise your hand.
  908. Evike asks, "Sup?"
  909. Lawlite grins at Evike.
  910. You ask, "If someone is hunting say... lava drakes, can we make an
  911. unkillable lava drake, and speak through it?"
  912. Evike says, "Sort of. That gets into NPC tests, which I'll talk about.
  913. BUT -- here's the thing. I would avoid using the same creature that
  914. someone is hunting. Caveat -- without SGM approval because Genie."
  915. You nod.
  916. Evike says, "We can always get approval for more creative script checks but
  917. you should absolutely positively get SGM approval for those."
  918. Evike says, "Steph is a good person to talk to about creative ones, she has
  919. written a couple of them. They kind of scare me."
  920. Evike says, "I shouldn't say creative. I should say... genie foiling ones."
  921. Evike says, "They aren't going to be perfect at that, but they have been
  922. pretty good at it so far."
  923. Evike says, "But, that's going to be something you shouldn't look to tackle
  924. right away anyway."
  925. Evike asks, "Answer that for you?"
  926. Evike grins.
  927. You nod to Evike.
  928. Evike says, "Also, some scripters trap for special characters, like
  929. asterisks. The list of possibilities is nearly endless, so you probably
  930. want to avoid things like that in your check."
  931. Evike exclaims, "Remember, though, that testing gets easier with time.
  932. After doing a few, you'll start to recognize the signs, you'll start to
  933. understand how scripters work and think, and much of this will become
  934. second nature to you. Really!"
  935. Evike asks, "Okay, questions so far?"
  936. Koyta shakes her head.
  937. Chakram shakes his head.
  938. You raise your hand.
  939. Lawlite shakes his head.
  940. Nohn shakes his head.
  941. Evike asks, "Yes dear?"
  942. You say, "Protip, there are people out there counting more than 1 or 2
  943. consecutive capital letters."
  944. Evike says, "See? There you go."
  945. Nohn nods to you.
  946. Evike says, "Things we learn."
  947. You say, "All i got."
  948. You smile.
  949. Evike says, "Personally, I tend to avoid capitalization in my script checks
  950. not because I am mean, but because it should be easy to see. We'll see an
  951. example of that later."
  952. Evike says, "Now you're ready to actually test the player. First thing you
  953. need to do is type /EXP (name) LOG. This will record in the player's logs
  954. a capture of the player's EXP. It also provides a handy time stamp in the
  955. CCC. Because of this, you want to make it a point to hit that /exp (name)
  956. log at least a couple times during your testing (i.e. when you start and at
  957. a midpoint during the testing). I personally do my first /EXP NAME LOG
  958. before I start researching to have a reference point."
  959.
  960. Evike says, "I also recommend hitting /time IG right before you start
  961. testing to make note of the IG time for your log. This makes the
  962. information in your log later fall more in line with the time stamps
  963. provided by /exp log and makes it easier for our onsite guys to look at the
  964. information in the event of disputes. All of my logs include this
  965. automatically."
  966. Evike says, "Real talk -- I made a blank template with all the appropriate
  967. pauses and ECHO with the MINUTES listed out, to include the /TIME and the
  968. /EXP LOG at the beginning and again at the three minute mark, when I speed
  969. up the checks. And again at the end. You may consider doing the same."
  970.
  971. Evike says, "As far as your type of check, have several options. You can
  972. test with /ghosts or /rsays, send in."
  973. Evike says, "YES SCRIPT ERROR."
  974. You raise your hand.
  975. You say, "I'm sorry."
  976. Evike says, "Go ahead, I need to find where it screwed up and fix it
  977. anyway."
  978. Evike grins.
  979. You ask, "I have a great list of commonly used quit triggers for genie
  980. users, can we /ghost them with those?"
  981. You say, "Like..."
  982. G>/say You are a ghost!
  983. You are a ghost!
  984. Evike says, "We'd rather that they not quit."
  985. Evike says, "So, nah."
  986. You say, "I mean just randomly."
  987. You rub your hands together.
  988. You grin evilly.
  989. Nohn chuckles.
  990. Evike says, "No."
  991. You say, "K."
  992. Evike says, "You can screw with people in other IC ways."
  993. Evike says, "Wait for Events."
  994. You nod to Evike.
  995. Evike says, "Ok."
  996. Evike says, "BY HAND NOW."
  997. Evike says, "As far as your type of check, have several options. You can
  998. test with /ghosts or /rsays, send in."
  999. Evike says, "An NPC to chat with them, etc. If you are comfortable enough
1000. with doing so, you can test "on the fly", creating /rsays as you go. If
1001. you are not strong with grammar/spelling presentation, please rely on a
  1002. script."
1003. Evike says, "Oh this sucks hold on."
  1004. You chuckle.
  1005. Your death cries echo
  1006. Evike says, "No."
1007. Evike says, "It's mostly a matter of preference yours. Do you want to
1008. test IC? Do you want to use environmental messages to try to catch their
1009. attention? Do you want to send someone to them? In a crowded room it's
1010. usually best to just /ghost them to avoid disturbing others."
1011. Evike says, "Real talk -- I kind of prefer the quasi sort of IC method."
1012. Evike says, "IC enough to not totally jar the player but enough to let them
1013. know its kind of a THING THEY SHOULD REACT TO."
  1014.
  1015. Evike recites:
  1016.
  1017. "/Ghosting Players
  1018. So you've decided to use /ghosts
1019. A /ghost message goes to the player ONLY.
1020. No one else in the room will see anything
1021. Unlike an /esend, it does not come across in monsterbold text
1022. There are no asterisks or anything else to attract attention
1023. (unless you add them yourself)."
  1024.
1025. Evike asks, "So, have you guys used /GHOST?"
  1026. You nod to Evike.
  1027. Koyta nods.
1028. Nohn says, "We learned it, I've never used it."
  1029. Chakram nods.
1030. Lawlite says, "Yeah just in class."
  1031. Nohn nods to Lawlite.
1032. Evike says, "Cool. Ghost me."
  1033. Evike says, "Everyone."
1034. G>/ghost evike You are dead!

  1041.
  1042. Evike says, "So."
1043. G>/ghost evike You are still stunned!
1044. [734(-1) [Aenk just sent Evike the message: You are still stunned!]]
1045. Evike says, "That's what we see as a GM if we're watching."
  1046.
1047. Evike says, "Ghost each other.."
1048. [734(-1) [Lawlite just sent Nohn the message: A sentient turban hovers into
  1049. view.]]

1053. [734(-1) [Koyta just sent Chakram the message: Your dog is nuts.]]
  1054. Lawlite grins at Koyta.
1055. Evike says, "Pretty simple stuff."
  1056. Nohn nods.
1057. [734(-1) [Chakram just sent Koyta the message: My dog is the good dog, I
  1058. don't have a dog.]]
  1059. Evike recites:

1066. Note -- if someone walks in unexpectedly
1067. They're going to see whatever you sent. Awkwaaard."
  1068.
1069. Evike asks, "You guys used these?"
  1070. You shake your head.
  1071. Koyta nods.
  1072. Nohn shakes his head.
  1073.
  1074.
  1075. No.
  1076.
  1077. No
1078. Evike says, "Ok, type /RSAY for syntax."
1079. Evike pokes Chakram in the ribs.
  1080.
  1081. Well, yes, possibly.
  1082. G>/rsay
  1083. Not a valid room.
  1084. USAGE: /rsay <room #> <message>

1093. Evike says, "It will go to ANYROOM number you type regardless of where you
  1094. are."
1095. Evike says, "For now, use it here, 103."
  1096.
1097. This is a test. This is only a test. Had this been a real emergency...
  1098. stuff.
  1099.
1100. All I'm saying is that I can neither confirm nor deny the use of /rsay
  1101. prior to today.
1102. Evike says, "Rsay can be pretty useful for event stuff. As I learned with
1103. HE this year, there's a character limit."
  1104.
1105. Evike says, "There's a character limit for everything."
1106. Evike says, "I get wordy."
1107. Evike says, "It's cool, Drogor worked it out. But just be careful."
  1108. Lawlite grins.
1109. Evike says, "I don't use RSAY script checks, just because of the people
  1110. walking in factor."
1111. Evike says, "Also its fun to make individuals look insane when they talk to
  1112. themselves."
  1113. Evike says, "Personal preference."
  1114. Evike recites:
  1115.
  1116. "/Esends
1117. The quick, dirty, let's get this over with method.
  1118. Totally OOC
  1119. And to the point.
1120. If you're going to use this method
1121. It's best to keep it simple and straightforward.
1122. WHAT IS YOUR GUILD? TELL YOUR GUILD NOW!"
  1123.
1124. Evike says, "But since most scripters have the giant SEND message set up as
1125. a trigger of some sort the /esend isn't the most effective way to test.
1126. You're probably only going to use this sparingly -- like when you're
1127. already trying to contact them for say, a quest prize delivery. Boy, that
  1128. is DEPRESSING."
  1129.
1130. Evike says, "It is super depressing."
1131. Evike says, "If this happens, be sure you do /exp log the person. You CAN
1132. bring them into a consultation room with you while you do the research,
1133. occasionally checking back to see if they've realized they've been moved.
1134. If they haven't woken by the time you're done with the research, proceed
1135. with the bust and ask any GM witnesses who may have been watching to jot a
1136. log as well. Most importantly, just start spamming the heck out of them
  1137. after a while."
1138. Evike asks, "I think most of us know how to ESEND?"
  1139. Lawlite nods.
  1140. Nohn nods.
1141. Evike says, "Garrett has shown he does."
  1142. Koyta nods.
  1143. Chakram grins.

1152. Evike says, "You can, as Garrett shows ESEND yourself if you forget."
  1153. Evike grins.
1154. Chakram exclaims, "I'm an example!"

1162. Chakram says, "A bad one, but an example."
1163. Koyta says, "Don't use Garrett as an example. For anything."
1164. Koyta says, "Except of how not to be."
  1165. Chakram grins at Lawlite.
  1166. Lawlite winks at Chakram.
  1167.
  1168. Evike recites:
  1169.
  1170. "/NPC SCRIPT CHECKS:"
  1171.
1172. Evike says, "IC checks, if you have the time and inclination, are really
1173. best done with an NPC. If the person wakes up part way into the routine,
1174. you're right there and can RP with them, and you may even wind up with a
1175. mini event. Best of all, it makes a job that's often boring and tedious
1176. fun for you! DO remember that NPC script checks CANNOT be done until
  1177. you've completed EVENTS class."
1178. Evike asks, "Idea... got a magic user focusing on a runestone? Move his
1179. runestone into his backpack does he notice? Have an NPC run in and grab
1180. their backpack off their back using /moves does he know he's just been
1181. mugged? Knock him out of hiding any reaction?"
1182. Evike says, "You want to use EXTREME CAUTION when doing something like
1183. moving a player to another room or otherwise altering a state of
1184. existence. If someone's actions are scrolling the heck out of the place,
1185. go on and /pmove them, but otherwise, use any OTHER method first."
1186. Evike asks, "Have you learned /MOVE?"
  1187. Lawlite nods.
  1188. You nod.
  1189. Nohn nods.
  1190. Chakram nods.
1191. Evike says, "So, my personal preference is not to mess with this one too
  1192. too much."
1193. Evike says, "Just because it can end up being a pain in the ass."
  1194. Evike says, "YMMV."
  1195.
1196. Evike says, "How long do we test scripters? To be fair to the player who
1197. might have had a legitimate emergency happen and really did just run away
1198. from the keyboard without a second thought about his script, we test for a
1199. minimum of 5 minutes. That's actual testing time -- it does not include
1200. time spent observing the actions, researching the account, and getting
  1201. prepared to test them."
1202. Evike says, "If we're honest, with research, it can end up being anywhere
  1203. from 11-20 minutes."
1204. Evike says, "Longer if you get distracted."
1205. Evike says, "Depending on the type of testing you are doing, research
1206. involved, etc., you may experience times when the actual testing goes
1207. beyond 5 minutes... that's ok too. But the actual testing should be no
  1208. less than 5 minutes."
1209. Evike says, "Please remember, your goal is to get a response from the
1210. player! Failing that, you want to put him into limbo or in the cell,
  1211. whichever applies."
  1212.
  1213. Evike recites:

1222. /ESEND to the player for scrollback
1223. /MLOG to BOTH the account and the character."
  1224.
1225. Evike says, "Your log should include how long you tested, how you tested
1226. (what you asked the player to do), that you used the steps listed above,
1227. and any other pertinent information. As an example of extra information
1228. you may choose to include. I tend to keep my /spy on the player until I've
1229. gotten the log done and submitted, so sometimes my last line of my log
1230. will state, "I am submitting this log and the player is still asleep in the
1231. room." I also try to remove the /IDLE when I am done, so not to leave
  1232. random idles on players."
  1233. Evike recites:

1351. Eric/Bubba regarding the situation so that they can address removing the

1353. Evike says, "2. If a player is bleeding or bandaged, you won't be able to

1355. (player) (number of points to heal) on each bleeding body part, and wait

1359. the bleeder by healing for 6 points of damage. Be sure to include in your

1361. Evike says, "3. If the player's script was allowing money gain, take away
1362. the money, too! This is an oft forgotten step. Use /coin for coins on the

1365. your LOG that you did this, too, though logs now include what you took if
  1366. you use COIN."
1367. Evike says, "-- Definitely use /COIN. Depositing can be harder to track,

1372. Evike says, "5. If the player wakes up before you start the bust, they CAN
1373. get lucky and get a pass. However, you should probably still CAUTION them
1374. and let them know they were walking dangerous ground. If they wake up as
1375. you are initiating the commands for the bust, STILL WARN THEM. Yes, you
1376. read that right, DO WARN and follow all the other steps. If they earned
1377. the warning, they earned the warning."

  1400.
1401. Evike says, "(This will probably happen)."
1402. Evike says, "Probably one of the most frustrating things to deal with is
1403. the intervention of other players. Often, it s the player who reported the
  1404. scripter."
1405. Evike says, "Sometimes they simply drag the person off to get them out of
1406. the way. This can ruin the exp gain if the person was gaining passive
1407. perception parked outside the the Empath Guild, or gaining combat skills
1408. in a hunting area, etc."
1409. Evike says, "Sometimes they drag a scripter into a combat area, hoping
1410. he'll get killed. Sometimes they'll even drag him off with intentions of
  1411. killing him themselves."
1412. Evike says, "Usually, an /esend or a /ghost message to the player(s) is all
1413. it takes to get the scripter put back where you need him. Most players
1414. will comply immediately. Some will grouse a bit and beg you to let them
  1415. handle it."
1416. Evike says, "There are a few, though, who will ignore you and take matters
1417. into their own hands despite what you're saying. Those folks,
1418. unfortunately, need to be told, 'If you don't put him back, I will warn
1419. you for disruption' (or 'PvP' as the case may be). Quote NEWS 5 33. IF
1420. they persist, you've got to at least caution, if not outright warn them."
  1421. Evike recites:
  1422.
  1423. "First bust or second?"
  1424.
1425. Evike exclaims, "You've just caught 'Joe' on the account 'JoeSmith1'
1426. scripting. His partner in crime is 'Jim' who is, strangely enough on
1427. account 'JoeSmith2'. Neither account has any priors. Do you toss them
1428. both into 33? Does one of them go to The Holding Cell and one of them into
1429. 33? How do you handle this?!"
1430. Evike says, "Unless the account link is documented, put BOTH players into
1431. 33. Then send an email to Lockout ([email protected]) with a CC to
1432. the CE SGMs and Bubba, asking them to check for linked accounts. They'll
1433. check into it and send you a response. If the account is confirmed linked
1434. ("hardlinked"), they will log this information to that account, or
1435. indicate if you should do so."
  1436.
1437. Evike says, "If, through their checking, they uncover information that may
1438. result in a lockout situation, they will let you know in their response and
1439. then it will be up to you to actually put the official lockout request
1440. in. However, we do not typically "upgrade" a scripting punishment for a
1441. first time confirmed hardlink; this is typically just noted for future
1442. busts. Consider it a freebie. The CCC will be noted with HARDLINKED (HL)
1443. on those two accounts from this point."
1444. Evike says, "In the above scenario, if the account link IS ALREADY
1445. documented, this is two warnings for the same player. Treat it as such,
1446. with a trip to 25 and the rest of the punishments as warranted."
  1447. Evike recites:
  1448.
  1449. "Second Bust or Third?"
  1450.
1451. Evike asks, "You've just caught Jimbobbilly, on the account 'countryboy'
1452. and his partner in crime is Susieq on the account 'jimbobbilly'. Susieq
1453. has a prior warning for scripting. Is this a second offense for both?
1454. Second for one and third for the other?"
  1455.
1456. Evike exclaims, "First, Susieq is definitely getting the Second Offense
1457. punishment, no questions asked. Jimbobbilly is taking a vacation too.
1458. Best choice in this case is to put them both into 25 and be sure to
1459. explain the situation in your e mail... remember, be thorough!"
1460. Evike says, "Feedback will do the necessary account research to verify that
1461. these accounts are linked and the appropriate penalty will then be assessed
  1462. if necessary."
1463. Evike says, "It's important to note that there may be times when an SGM or
1464. Lockout may authorize a bust, or escalate a punishment without you having
1465. gone through some or all of the steps mentioned above. If you are advised
1466. by an SGM, or Eric(Bubba) to alter any of the steps listed, it's definitely
1467. ok to do so. Just make sure you include that information, including who
1468. instructed you, when posting your log."
1469. Evike says, "So that's how it's done folks, and now that you've been given
1470. this class, you'll be able to sit with a supervisor and practice your Super
1471. Zombie Bust skills. One last note, however: please be sure to review your
1472. logs and notes from the Problem Children class. Some of the commands here,
1473. such as /warn and /lockout, are taught in that class, so please refresh
  1474. yourselves on these commands."
  1475. Evike says, "SO."
1476. Evike says, "That's the class script."
  1477. Chakram exclaims, "Yay!"
1478. Chakram says, "You all can wake up again."
  1479. Lawlite stretches his arms.
  1480. Nohn says, "Woohoo."
1481. Evike says, "Let me go over an example of a script check."

1966. tell me if you saw the little girl." You can NOD your head to indicate
1967. you've seen the little girl or you can SHAKE your head to let them know you

1975. Lawlite says to Evike, "You're a monster."
1976. [734(-1) [Evanora just sent Lawlite the message: The otter ceases his
1977. crying momentarily to catch his breath, still looking at you with reddened
  1978. eyes.]]
  1979. Lawlite grins.
  1980. You chuckle.
1981. Evike says, "So, thats two minutes."
  1982. Nohn chuckles.
  1983. Chakram says, "Poor otter."
1984. You say, "If you're atk, there's no way you're missing that."
1985. Evike says, "At three minutes, I generally cut and paste the ghost message
1986. and add it manually in."
  1987. Evike says, "Depending."
1988. Evike says, "Most of mine also speed up the messaging in the script itself
  1989. at three minutes."
1990. Evike says, "But, at three minutes thats when it starts to become critical."
1991. Evike says, "Thats when it definitely turns into caution territory."
1992. Evike says, "Also something to keep in mind, have a "reward" ghost ready
  1993. for when they answer."
1994. Evike says, "People are IMPATIENT."
1995. Evike says, "When they say "No I don't want to hear your story" they want
1996. an answer immediately, and get snotty if you take too long to type it out."
1997. Evike says, "Also some things."
1998. Evike says, "I use a specific character for script checks."
1999. Evike says, "At first, it was because I thought it would be nice not to
2000. have Evike associated with script checks. Then I realized, it was
2001. extremely awesome to have a completely separate system for logs set up that
2002. way. You can't do this right away, however, and some of you may not care
2003. to. But if you're OCD like me you might want to."
2004. Evike says, "So, whenever I do a check or a bust, I can immediately rename
  2005. that log to NAMEDATECHECK(orBUST)."
2006. Evike says, "That's all going to be personal preference."
2007. Evike says, "What I do strongly recommend is that if you ask them to do an
2008. action is that you highlight what that action IS."
2009. Evike says, "For example, in one of mine, I ask them for the YEAR. I have
2010. :TIME highlighted so I can see if they are actually checking the TIME."
2011. Evike asks, "Let's look at the CCC real quick?"
  2012. Nohn nods.
  2013. You nod.
2014. Lawlite asks, "Sure, who what where when?"
2015. Evike says, "Looking for a good one."
2016. Evike says, "Ok, let's look at W_AUSTINLATEATNIGHT."
2017. Evike says, "You don't have to look at everything, we just want to look at
  2018. the recent bust."
  2019. Evike says, "On 3/4/15."
2020. Evike says, "So, this one ended up being a home exp removal."
  2021. Lawlite nods.
  2022. Nohn nods.
2023. Evike says, "And was a check because of something they said on the gweth
  2024. that raised my suspicions."
2025. Evike says, "People aren't bright sometimes."
2026. Lawlite says, "I love the answer machine crystal ring response."
  2027. Lawlite nods.
  2028. Nohn chuckles.
2029. Evike says, "Sometimes you see them and people are just draining."
  2030. Evike says, "Sometimes... not."
  2031. Lawlite nods to Evike.
2032. Evike says, "The sad thing was, if you look at he EXP CHECK on the CCC she
2033. wasn't logged in that long."
  2034. Nohn nods.
  2035. Lawlite says, "Oh yeah."
  2036. Lawlite says, "Sheesh."
  2037. You say, "6 minutes."
  2038. You chuckle.
2039. Evike says, "But, people will do that."
  2040.
2041. Evike says, "So, we also have a hard link example."
2042. Evike says, "[Player Tag] Zadraes applied tag ~hard_linked~ to
2043. W_austinlateatnight for the following reason: Accounts W_TIMNEWLUN and
2044. W_AUSTINLATEATNIGHT are confirmed hardlinked via billing as of 3/5/2015 per
  2045. an incident on 3/4/2015."
2046. Evike says, "That's what you want to look for for a hard link."
2047. Evike says, "There are also soft links. Which mean like, I maybe logged
2048. into your account a few times."
2049. Evike says, "I think that covers about everything extra I need to."
2050. Evike says, "Homework! Your Homework is to write a scriptcheck script.
2051. I'll send you a template after the meeting that you can use as a base (or
2052. can you, dun dun dun), but you will need your very own check. All script
2053. check scripts need to be QC'd, so when you have it finished, send it to me
2054. and I'll go over it. Once you have that cleared, you will be free to begin
2055. zombie checking with a supervisor."
  2056. Lawlite smiles.
2057. You just feel so pleased with yourself, you can't help letting out a hearty
  2058. cheer.
  2059. Lawlite says, "FUn."
  2060. Nohn smiles.
  2061. Evike asks, "Final questions?"
2062. Lawlite says, "I did have one."
2063. Evike says, "And I'm serious don't trust me with the base script. I am
  2064. devious."
  2065. Evike asks, "Sup?"
2066. Lawlite asks, "You mentioned for 2nd or 3rd+ offense we would set a
2067. /RELEASE 96, but we were also told that AGMs could not do more than 72
2068. without approval. Is this an exception to that rule?"
2069. Evike says, "It's an automatic set when they go into that room."
2070. Evike says, "So, its technically an exception, because we have to give
2071. Feedback time to get to them."
  2072. Lawlite nods.
  2073. Lawlite exclaims, "Okay, thanks!"
2074. Nohn says, "Good to know."
2075. Evike says, "That room is just set up that way."
2076. Chakram says, "I think we used to have to test a minimum of 7 minutes."
2077. Nohn asks Lawlite, "What were you using to find which classes people were
2078. in so quick? Were you cross-referencing /effect with /exp, or is there a
2079. command you were using, and if so, have we been taught it yet?"
  2080. Lawlite says, "I was cross-referencing, yeah."
  2081. Lawlite nods to Nohn.
  2082. Nohn nods.
  2083. Nohn says, "Cool."
2084. Evike says, "Yeah the time has gone down. Some people still do 7."
2085. Evike says, "But frankly, I only do five. Its PLENTY if you ask me."
  2086. Chakram nods to Evike.
2087. Evike says, "When I do messaging, I give them around 5 seconds between
2088. messaging generally for the first two minutes and then around 2 seconds for
  2089. the remaining 3 minutes."
  2090. Chakram nods.
  2091.
2092. Chakram asks, "Any minimum that we need to do as far as how often or is it
2093. just make sure they're able to see it?"
2094. Evike says, "No minimum, just be sure they are able to see it. I feel like
2095. 5 and 2 are pretty generous and standard."
  2096. Chakram nods to Evike.
2097. Evike says, "And, like I said you can ALWAYS manually add additional
  2098. messaging if its scrolly."
  2099.
2100. Evike says, "Heck, I even have versions of scripts for specifically scrolly
  2101. areas to "be safe"."
2102. Lawlite says, "Crystal was spamming that guys face off because he was
  2103. hunting."
  2104. Evike nods.
  2105. Evike says, "Yup."
2106. Lawlite says, "Like srs NO MORE FACE."
2107. Evike says, "That's part of the reason I like having the alt to handle the
2108. checks. I can literally document the log and go look."
2109. Evike says, "Because people do complain."
2110. Evike exclaims, "Not as much anymore!"
2111. Evike says, "But it really is impossible to miss anything after minute
  2112. three, I think."
2113. Evike says, "I'll give you a pass before that, though (not really). BUt ok."
2114. Evike asks, "So, no more questions?"
  2115. Evike asks, "All good?"
2116. Lawlite exclaims, "Yay sleep now!"
  2117. Lawlite says, "Thanks Jes."
2118. Evike says, "Flee run away."
  2119. Nohn says, "All good."
2120. Evike says, "NP :) Have a good one guys."
2121. Evike says, "Thanks for dealing with my stupid schedule."
2122. Lawlite says, "G'night folks. Catch you later."
  2123. Lawlite suddenly fades away.
  2124. Koyta waves.
2125. Koyta just wandered away in search of rat food.
  2126. Chakram exclaims, "Later!"
  2127. Chakram waves.
  2128. Chakram says, "And thanks."
  2129. Evike grins.
2130. Chakram says, "I really did need this class."
  2131. Evike grins.
  2132. Evike says, "Anytime."
2133. Chakram says, "It's changed since the last time I've done this."
2134. Chakram says in his best crotchety old guy voice, "Back in my day...."
2135. Evike says, "We don't really actively seek scripters out much anymore."
  2136. Chakram nods.
2137. Evike says, "Now, I mean you guys will while you learn."
2138. Evike says, "But really unless someone is being obvious or disruptive, or
2139. is reported the population is just so SMALL."
  2140. Chakram nods.
2141. Evike says, "Or I guess unless you're really bored."
2142. Evike says, "Sometimes I get bored."
  2143. Chakram says, "BOARD."
2144. Evike says, "But usually I invade."
  2145. Chakram grins.
2146. Evike says, "Though can't do that now."
2147. Chakram says, "That's a good way to clear out scripters."
2148. Chakram says, "Kill them all."
  2149. Evike nods.
2150. Nohn says, "I'd much rather look for people to RPA than people to script
2151. check. But when all else fails.."
2152. Chakram says, "One big fell swoop."
2153. Evike says, "Really, my hatred is when they have bad scripts."
  2154. Nohn nods.
2155. Nohn says, "Like that guy earlier."
2156. Evike says, "If you're going to do it, do more than the same thing over and
2157. over again, not even checking if you are dead or something."
  2158. Chakram nods to Nohn.
2159. Chakram says, "That was what's his face earlier."
  2160. Chakram grins.
  2161. Nohn nods.
2162. Chakram says, "Attack attack skin experience focus."
2163. Evike says, "Yeah I think that was why I got him earlier."
2164. Evike says, "Let's see if I can open my programs now without crashing."
2165. Chakram exclaims, "That's the question!"
  2166. G>quit
