新芦原市街に敵の無人機が現れたのはまずいな」
Marito: I can barely believe it... Things are looking rough if we have enemy drones showing up in Shin-awara City.

「先程、その件を上に報告しましたが、
把握していなかったようです」
Yuki: I tried reporting to the higher ups about that just a while ago, but I couldn’t get through.

鞠戸
「15年前と同じだ…
奴らの通信障害で指揮系統が混乱してる。
敵機が新芦原に降下したのなら、ここも時間の問題…」
Marito: Same as 15 years ago... They’re disrupting the chain of command with communication jamming. If Shin-awara already has enemy units swarming it, it’s only a matter of time until they make it here too.

(An explosion is heard.)

「!」
Yuki: !

「早速、来たか!」
Marito: Scratch that, they’re already here!

ユキ
(ナオ君たちはここへ向かっているのに…!)
Yuki: (But Nao and his friends are on their way here...!)

Marito: (Goddammit...! My hands are shaking even at a time like this...!)

Saazbaum: Commander Benmel... It is nothing you need concern yourself with.

ならば、吾輩も出るとしよう。火星と地球が
開戦したおかげで、表立って動けるのでな」
Benmel: Is that so. Well, then I think I’ll take to the field myself. With Mars and Earth at war, I can finally do as I please.

Benmel: And if you happen to acquire any information about that man...

An Inviolable Foe


(Scene begins on the map screen of Shin-awara. Slaine is on the map in his Sky Carrier.)

「新芦原市上空、目的地に到着」
Slaine: We have arrived at the destination above Shin-awara.

トリルラン
「スレイン・トロイヤード、
足だけは引っ張ってくれるなよ」
Trillram: Don’t slow me down out here, Slaine Troyard.

Slaine: ...Yes, sir.

(ここで姫様が…。
誰よりも平和を望んでおられた方だったのに…)
Slaine: (Here is where the Princess was... She wanted for peace more than any other...)

(いったい誰が…)
Slaine: (Who would have—)

(Slaine detects something.)

「地球連合軍の[カタフラクト]が接近中」
Slaine: United Forces of Earth [Kataphraktos], approaching.

(Several KG-7 Aeirons appear.)

「わざわざ犬死するために現れたか」
Trillram: Suicidal, are they?

「降ろせ」
Trillram: Let me down.

「はい。
ニロケラス、ディスコネクト」
Slaine: Sir. Nilokeras, disconnected.

(Trillram appears on the map in his mech.)

Union Soldier: That’s...a Kataphrakt!?

連合軍兵
「敵はたった2機はだ! 攻擊開始!」
Union Soldier 2: There’re only two enemy machines! Commence the attack!

(The soldiers fire on Trillram.)

Union Soldier: No effect!?

連合軍兵
「ひるむな、撃ちまくれ!」
Union Soldier 2: Don’t falter! Keep firing!

トリルラン
「雑魚が…私が手を下すまでもないか。
スレイン、貴様がやれ」
Trillram: Such small fry... They’re beneath me. Slaine, deal with them.

スレイン

Slaine: ...

トリルラン
「どうした?」
Trillram: Is there a problem?

スレイン
「う、うう…!」
Slaine: U-Ugh...!

トリルラン
「やれやれ、やれやれ。
しつけがなってないじゃないか、クルーテオ卿」
Trillram: Oh me, oh my. Count Cruhteo didn’t train you nearly well enough.

「ならば、このトリルランが教育しよう…
戦場の悦というモノを!」
Trillram: Then I, Trillram, shall educate you... In the pleasures of war.

(Trillram wipes out all but one of the soldiers.)

Slaine: Ah!

Union Soldier: S-So that’s...a Martian Kataphrakt...!

(The soldier fires on Trillram more.)

「う、うわああ! なんで効かないんだ!!」
Union Soldier: Wh-Whaaah! Why isn’t it working!?

トリルラン
「…散り際を弁えぬ者は美しくないぞ」
Trillram: ...There is little else uglier than watching the doomed desperately cling to life.

連合軍兵
「か、勝てねえ! あんなのには…!!」
Union Soldier: W-We can’t win! We can never win against these things...!

(Trillram kills the last soldier.)

トリルラン
「どうだ、スレイン!
かつての同胞が無様に死んでいく様を
高みから見下ろす気持ちは?」
Trillram: Well, Slaine? How does it feel to watch from on high as your former countrymen die pathetically?

Slaine: ...

トリルラン
「ふん…足手まといはいらぬ。
下がって、30分後に合流しろ」
Trillram: Hmph... I won’t allow myself to be impeded. Fall back and rejoin with me in 30 minutes.

Slaine: ...Yes, sir.

(Slaine leaves the map.)

(さて…
ザーツバルム様より仰せつかった命を果たすか)
Trillram: (Now then... To carry out the order given by Lord Saazbaum.)

(我がニロケラスの鷹の目をもってすれば、
ネズミを捜し出すことなど造作もない)
Trillram: (With Nilokeras’s eyes in the sky, ferreting out a few rats will be a simple matter.)

(Rayet is running down a street.)

「はあ…はあ…!」
Rayet: Haa... Haa...!

トリルラン
「フフフ…早速、見つけたぞ」
Trillram: Hahaha... I’ve already found her.

(Trillram moves closer to Rayet.)

ライエ
「ああっ!!」
Rayet: AAH!!

トリルラン
「後々、チュウチュウと
余計な鳴き声を立てられても困るのでね」
Trillram: It would be most troublesome if you were to go squeaking to the wrong person later on.

ライエ
「か、火星のカタフラクト…!
じゃ、じゃあ、さっきお父様たちを襲ったのは…!!」
Rayet: A-A Martian Kataphrakt...! Th-Then, the thing that attacked my father and the others was...!!

トリルラン
「逃がさないぞぉ~! フハハハハハ!」
Trillram: You won’t escape from me~! Mwahahaha!

(Inko, Marito, and more soldiers appear in Aeirons.)

「む?」
Trillram: Hm?

「敵カタフラクトを捕捉!
民間人を襲っています!」
Union Soldier 3: Located enemy Kataphrakt! It’s attacking that civilian!

連合軍兵
「攻撃開始だ、一気に決着をつける!」
Union Soldier 4: Begin the attack and defeated it swiftly!

「よせ、民間人の保護が先だ!」
Marito: Wait, we have to protect the civilian first!

連合軍兵
「擊て!」
Union Soldier 4: Fire!

(The soldiers fire on Trillram.)

連合軍兵
「何っ、弾丸が!?」
Union Soldier 3: What’s happening to our bullets!?

「界塚准尉、生き残りを保護しろ!」
Marito: Warrant Officer Kaizuka, protect the survivor!

連合軍兵
「鞠戸大尉、私の隊だ! 勝手な指示を出すな!」
Union Soldier 4: This is my unit, Lieutenant Marito! You aren’t allowed to give out orders as you please!

「行け! カバーする!」
Marito: Go! I’ll cover you!

ユキ
「了解!」
Yuki: Roger!

(Yuki moves closer to Rayet.)

トリルラン
「何のつもりだ?」
Trillram: Just what do you think you’re doing?

(The soldiers fire on Trillram. Marito follows Inko to Rayet.)

「!!」
Rayet: !!

ユキ
「乗って!」
Yuki: Get on!

ライエ
「あっ…! は、はい!」
Rayet: Ah...! O-Okay!

ユキ
「民間人、確保!」
Yuki: Civilian secured!

「すぐに後退しろ!」
Marito: Retreat at once!

ユキ
「了解!」
Yuki: Roger!

鞠戶
「グレネード、用意! 一斉射撃!」
Marito: Use the grenades! Concentrate fire!

(Marito and the soldiers fire on Trillram.)

連合軍兵
「無傷だと!?
何なんだ、あいつのボディは!?」
Union Soldier 4: No damage!? What the hell is up with its body!?

トリルラン
「雑魚が…」
Trillram: Such small fries...

(Trillram moves to the soldiers and kills them all.)

鞠戶
「!!」
Marito: !!

トリルラン
「さあ、ネズミ退治の続きをしようか」
Trillram: Now then, let’s continue this little game of cat and mouse.

鞠戸
「くそっ! 逃げろ、界塚准尉!!」
Marito: Dammit! Get out of here, Warrant Officer Kaizuka!

ユキ
「くっ…!!」
Yuki: Tch...!


(Scene ends.)

(Next scene takes place on the same map screen, but in a different area. Inaho and Eunice are in their mechs, while everyone else is inside an armored car.)

「宇宙人の戦艦の中にあった巨人兵器、ねえ…」
Okisuke: A giant weapon in an alien battleship, huh...

「ゲームやアニメみたいな話だな」
Calm: It’s like something out of a game or an anime.

ユニス
「否定はしないわ。
あたしも最初はそう思ったし」
Eunice: I’m not gonna deny that. I mean I didn’t believe it at first myself.

カーム
「そっちの世界だと、
カタフラクトみたいな人型兵器は珍しいんだっけ」
Calm: I thought humanoid weapons like Kataphraktos were hard to come by in your world?

ユニス
「うん、[DT]は南極にしかないわ」
Eunice: Yeah, the [DTs] are only in Antarctica.

カーム
「だったら、
なんでそんなのに乗ることになったんだ?」
Calm: So how’d you end up in one?

ユニス
「簡単に言うと、適性があったから」
Eunice: The short version is that I had the right aptitude for it.

カーム
「どんな?」
Calm: What’s that mean?

ユニス
「TMP…サードマン・フェノメノンを
発動できる能力」
Eunice: I can use TMP. ...Third Man Phenomenon.

起助
「なんだ、そりゃ?」
Okisuke: What’s that?

「サードマン現象…聞いたことがある。
人間が極限状況に陥った時、
生還へ導く声のことだね」
Yagarai: Third Man Phenomenon... I’ve heard of it before. It’s where an individual hears a voice inside them during a dire situation that helps them to survive.

ユニス
「そう。
昔は守護霊や守護天使の声だと思われてたけど、
実際にはTMPを発動できる本人の声なの」
Eunice: Yeah. We used to think it was the voice of a guardian spirit or an angel, but in reality it’s the voice of the person using TMP themselves.

カーム
「それとDTの操縦にどんな関係が?」
Calm: And how’s that related to piloting DTs?

ユニス
「TMPは、第三者の視点や感覚で
自分が置かれた状況を冷静に見極める能力なの。
それを応用したDTの操縦は…」
Eunice: TMP is the ability to calmly assess your situation from a third person's perspective and senses. When it’s applied to piloting a DT...

ユニス
「たとえるなら、アクションゲームで
自機を俯瞰で見て操作するようなものよ」
Eunice: If I were to compare it to an action game, it’d be something like having an overhead view of your character.

ユニス
「もっとも、TMPIという
マン・マシン・インターフェイスが必要で…」
Eunice: But we need a a Third Man Interface called TMPI for it to work...

ユニス
「優れたTMPを発動できる人間…
フェノメナーでなきゃ無理だけど」
Eunice: And the only ones that can use TMP effectively are Phenomena.

起助
「ええっと、つまり…
お前は凄腕のアクションゲーマーってことか?」
Okisuke: Uhhh, so basically... You’re top-notch at playing action games?

ユニス
「たとえは間違ってるけど…
グラフディンの操縦は、ゲームの感覚っぽいわ。
適性さえあれば、簡単に乗りこなせるし」
Eunice: Okay, I know this isn’t the best analogy but... Piloting a Grafdin feels similar to playing a game. If you have the aptitude for it, it’s easy.

「とはいえ、戦闘をするには訓練が必要だけど」
Eunice: That said, you still need training on how to fight.

カーム
「そこはカタフラクトと同じか…」
Calm: Same as Kataphraktos then...

韻子
「…伊奈帆、基地と連絡取れた?」
Inko: ...Inaho, were you able to contact the base?

伊奈帆
「いや、通信障害がひどい」
Inaho: No, the communication jamming is too bad.

ユニス
「伊奈帆! 進行方向の空を見て!」
Eunice: Inaho! I saw something in the sky over there!

伊奈帆
「あれは…爆発の光だ」
Inaho: It’s...the light from an explosion.

起助
「マジかよ!?」
Okisuke: For real!?

韻子
「基地で戦闘してるの!?」
Inko: They’re fighting at the base!?

伊奈帆
「こっちに敵が来る」
Inaho: The enemy must have reached there.

Seylum: !

(Aiais appear.)

ユニス
「またあいつらが!」
Eunice: It’s those things again!

伊奈帆
「あれなら対処できる。
韻子たちはそこにいて」
Inaho: We can handle this. Inko, you hang back.

韻子
「わ、わかったわ!」
Inko: G-Got it!

伊奈帆
「…ユニス」
Inaho: ...Eunice.

ユニス
「やることはわかってるわ!」
Eunice: I know what I need to do!

起助
「頼むぜ、ふたりとも!」
Okisuke: We’re counting on you two!

(Battle 1 begins.)

(Battle 1 ends when all enemies are defeated.)

「…これで全部片付いたね」
Eunice: ...That takes care of that.

伊奈帆
「先を急ごう」
Inaho: Let’s hurry.

伊奈帆
「この反応、アレイオンと…」
Inaho: I’m picking up an Aeiron’s reading...

(Yuki appears.)

ユキ
「スレイプニール! もしかして、ナオ君!?」
Yuki: A Sleipnir! Could it be Nao!?

伊奈帆
「ユキ姉…」
Inaho: Yuki...

ユキ
「すぐに逃げて! あいつが来る!!」
Yuki: We’ve gotta run away now! He’s coming!!


(Scene ends.)

(Next scene picks up where it left off. Yuki brings Rayet to the car.)

「早く乗って!」
Inko: Hurry and get in!

ライエ
「う、うん」
Rayet: R-Right!

韻子
「ユキさん、彼女を収容しました!」
Inko: She’s inside, Yuki!

ユキ
「敵は私が食い止める! みんな、早く逃げて!」
Yuki: I’ll hold off the enemy! The rest of you, hurry and get out of here!

伊奈帆
「ユキ姉だけじゃ無理だ」
Inaho: You can’t do this on your own, Yuki.

ユキ
「何を言ってるの! ここはお姉ちゃんに任せなさい!」
Yuki: What are you saying!? Just leave this to your big sister!

伊奈帆
「どのみち、もう遅いよ」
Inaho: It’s too late now anyways.

(Trillram appears.)

トリルラン
「ネズミめ、ちょこまかと…」
Trillram: You filthy rats do love to scurry about, don’t you...?

セラム
(あのカタフラクトは…!)
Seylum: (That Kataphrakt is...!)

ユキ
「くっ!」
Yuki: Tch!

(Yuki moves forward.)

ユキ
「さあ、私が相手になるわ!!」
Yuki: Come on, I’m your opponent!!

(Yuki fires on Trillram.)

伊奈帆
「…!」
Inaho: ...!

ユニス
「弾丸が吸収された!?」
Eunice: It absorbed the bullets!?

トリルラン
「無駄だとまだわからんのか」
Trillram: So you still don’t realize how futile this is.

(Trillram attacks Yuki and sends her Aeiron flying near the car.)

韻子
「ああっ!!」
Inko: AH!!

トリルラン
「ふん…うまくかわしたようだが、
もう動けまい」
Trillram: Hmph... You may have evaded death, but you won’t be going anywhere now.

韻子
「ユキさん! 応答して下さい、ユキさん!」
Inko: Yuki! Please respond, Yuki!

韻子
「ユ、ユキさん…!」
Inko: Y-Yuki...!

伊奈帆
「コックピットは無事…気絶してるだけだ」
Inaho: The cockpit is undamaged... She probably just fainted.

(Inaho steps forward.)

トリルラン
「貴様も刃向かう気か? 身の程知らずめ」
Trillram: You intend to oppose me as well? You ought to know your place.

伊奈帆
「ユニス、僕が敵を引きつけてる間にユキ姉を」
Inaho: Eunice, while I distract the enemy, you get Yuki.

ユニス
「え!?」
Eunice: Huh!?

起助
「待った!
ユキさんは俺が助ける!」
Okisuke: Hold on! I’ll save Yuki!

カーム
「オコジョ!?」
Calm: Okojo!?

起助
「だから、お前たちであいつの足止めを!」
Okisuke: You two just keep him at bay!

伊奈帆
「わかった」
Inaho: Got it.

ユニス
「あの子に任せて大丈夫なの!?」
Eunice: Can we really leave it up to that boy!?

伊奈帆
「ふたりで戦えば、助かる確率は上がる」
Inaho: With both of us fighting, our chances of survival improve.

ユニス
「そ、それはそうだけど…!」
Eunice: Y-Yeah, but...!

トリルラン
「…よかろう、先に貴様らを駆除してやる」
Trillram: ...Very well, I’ll exterminate you lot first.

伊奈帆
(あの火星カタフラクト…動きはそう早くない。
動き回っていれば、時間は稼げる)
Inaho: (This Martian Kataphrakt... It doesn’t move very fast. If we keep running around, we should be able to buy some time.)

(Battle 2 begins.)

(This exchange triggers if Eunice battles Trillram BEFORE Inaho does.)

トリルラン
「見慣れぬカタフラクトだが、
我がニロケラスの敵ではない」
Trillram: A most unusual Kataphrakt, but it is no threat to my Nilokeras.

ユニス
「あいつ、弾を跳ね返すんじゃなく、吸収した…!
どういうテクノロジーを使ってるの…!?」
Eunice: The bullets aren’t just bouncing off of him, they’re being absorbed...! What kind of technology is he using...!?

(This exchange triggers when Inaho battles Trillram. Inaho must attack Trillram to progress the stage.)

トリルラン
「貴様も犬死にするがいい」
Trillram: You can die in vain as well.

伊奈帆
(あいつはユキ姉の攻撃を
跳ね返すんじゃなく、吸い込んでいた)
Inaho: (He wasn’t repelling Yuki’s attacks, but rather absorbing them.)

伊奈帆
(機体がバリアで覆われていて、
それに触れた物が吸収されるとしたら…)
Inaho: (If the machine is covered in a barrier and anything it touches is absorbed, then...)

カーム
「オコジョ、ユキさんをこっちへ!」
Calm: Okojo, hand Yuki to me!

起助
「ああ!」
Okisuke: Right!

トリルラン
「ネズミめ、あのカタフラクトの搭乗者を…」
Trillram: It’s those rats, and that Kataphrakt’s pilot...

韻子
「ふたりとも急いで!!」
Inko: Hurry, you two!!

カーム
「よし、ユキさんを乗せたぞ!
オコジョ、お前も早く!」
Calm: Okay, Yuki’s inside! Come on, Okojo, you too!

起助
「わかってるよ!」
Okisuke: I know!

トリルラン
「そういう魂胆だったか! 小賢しい!」
Trillram: So that was your intention! How clever of you!

(Trillram moves up and attacks Inko’s Aeiron, killing Okisuke.)

Eunice: AAH!

(The car drives further away.)

Inko: Th-that was close!

「ふん、しぶといな」
Trillram: Hmph, how stubborn.

Inko: Is everyone okay!?

Calm: Ah... Aaaah...! Oh my god...!!

「どうしたの、カーム!?」
Inko: What’s wrong, Calm!?

Inaho: Okisuke...!

Trillram: Did seeing your friend die cause your blood to boil?

Inaho: You have to get out of here. We’ll catch up later.

Eunice: Inaho, it’s the enemy!

(Slaine and several Aiais appear.)

Slaine: Sir Trillram...

「スレイン、ネズミの駆除を手伝え。
今度こそな」
Trillram: Slaine, assist me with a bit of pest control. At once.

スレイン
「は、はい」
Slaine: Y-Yes, sir.

伊奈帆
「ユニス、できるだけ時間を稼いでから
僕たちもトンネルの中へ入る」
Inaho: Eunice, we’ll stall for as long as we can, then enter the tunnel.

ユニス
「わ、わかったわ…!」
Eunice: U-Understood...!

ユニス
(もっと…もっと力を出さなきゃ、
あたしもあの子みたいに死ぬ…!)
Eunice: (More... I’ve gotta draw out more power, or I’ll die like that boy did...!)

(Battle 2 continues.)

Inaho: (Is that bat-like machine hesitating...?)

(This exchange triggers if Slaine is defeated.)

Slaine: Kugh, I can’t take anymore!

これだから地球人は…!」
Trillram: You let the Sky Carrier be damaged! You Terrans are always so...!

(Battle 2 ends when all Aiais are defeated.)

「今だ。みんな、早くトンネルへ」
Inaho: Now. Everyone, hurry to the tunnel.

「韻子、アクセルだ!!」
Calm: Step on it, Inko!!

Inko: I am!!

They were developed by combining the overtechnology acquired from the alien battleship Eltsad with data from the humanoid weapon Merafdin, found in the same vessel. It should be noted that the rest of the world is unaware of the existence of DTs.

They were first developed by the Vers Empire, when reforming planetary work robots into weapons.
There is a great difference in performance between Earth’s and Mars’s Kataphraktos, due to Martian Kataphraktos being equipped with Aldnoah Drives, which enables just 1 machine to be powerful enough to sway the flow of battle.
