The world pearl-white is less in wake of you.
It’s slippery-sharp, and breaks in your absence.
Crumbling, cracking, and drifting from view.
We chase your world and lie on its fragments.
We lie between our dives for squid and fish.
We risk waters that were once yours to burn.
We lie upon your ice content, remiss.
Until the day when our little worlds turn.
To see you back to claim our world, what’s yours.
Ice tilts, it bows in the wake of the king;
Of waters where you fight your hunger wars.
We slid to you and saw your teeth, can’t sing.
Ice broke in change of heart too late, we swirled.
To the destroyer of our little broken worlds.
