Throughout the entire life of the SPL, LonelyNess has always ran it, and had the final say, perhaps to the complaints of many managers, players, or even bystanders. For some reason, this season, LonelyNess announced his retirement, much to the exaggerated joy of certain users.

For a couple days, the tournament didn’t have host. Imagine if a host was needed to decide that… The SPL thread would have exploded into the largest fight since WWII. A couple of people stepped up on IRC and elsewhere saying they wanted to run for the host spot, including the illustrious macle. In the end, the one who received the owner status on #spl was Synre, previously of the Tigers, announced by Earthworm.

He was met with little argument, and most SPL frequenters are hoping for a fun SPL4 under new management. Suprisingly enough, after a couple chats in #spl, Synre mentioned he may listen to what the managers want. We should wish a large thanks to LonelyNess (I think) for 2.5 SPLs hosted. Good luck, Synre!
