Nas doesn't me doesn't have what rappers like Pac have to me in that while the songs are gritty, they aren't too slow that they turn me off as MATW probably will. That's the only thing I don't like about 2Pac, and I respect who he is and what he stands for as a rapper, but I'm not into him as much as I am into Nas from the get-go, based off singles like Dear Mama. They both are miles better than anyone today besides Kendrick but Pac doesn't hold much interest to me in terms of lyricism, he's more direct (Hit Em Up for example) while the Notorious BIG and Nas are more subliminal (like i.e. rappers like Drake, though that's where the comparison ends to me besides impact). I have high respect for 2Pac's introspection but I don't know if it materializes well over the course of an album, I'll have to see for myself and will update when I get the chance.
