  1. Within the past few years, I have been the only one updating the ZSR wiki pages consistently. When I became an editor, pages were highly outdated. I spent several hours rewriting and adding important tricks and information. Yet, I am still not happy about the wiki as a whole. There are mostly three things that annoy me:
  2.
  3. - Many text explanations are still way out of date.
  4. - Some videos need to be redone with better optimization/gameplay. When a wiki video is not optimized, people take it as an exemple and runs themselves end up unoptimized.
  5. - Routes are also a problem. It seems like historically, this game only had very light routes, with most of the details considered to be "known" and as such not explained. Basically, routes are all missing tons of details, related to small tricks and movement. This may seem like it doesn't matter, especially to old runners, but actually the more detailed the routes are, the more time will be saved. Precise movement matters, and if we save 1s off of movement every minute, we save over 2m30s in all dungeons. Also, idk what to do about outdated routes. And finally, because there are ENG/JP, MSS/No MSS and Tuner/No Tuner differences, the number of routes is really high.
  6.
  7. Here is my problem: by myself, I do not have the time to do a full wiki revamp. I cannot reupload videos for every trick that needs a video. I cannot do some of the tricks that need a video (PG Skip for exemple). I sometimes don't have the knowledge to write a section (the superswimming page for exemple). But I also don't want these pages to stay like they currently are. This is why I want to try the following idea with the TWW community.
  8.
  9. I want to create a new channel, called #ZSR-editing. In that channel, anyone in the discord server can suggest videos and text sections to put on ZSR. I think this might be a way to get more people involved in the ZSR wiki without having to give editing rights to everyone. Someone could post a paragraph they want to be put on ZSR in that channel, and other people could even suggest improvements. We could also have a pinned comment with all the things we want to be changed on ZSR, to encourage people in uploading videos or writing text explanations. Basically, I want everyone to be able to edit ZSR vicariously (is that the word?).
  10.
  11. To guarantee that new paragraphs and videos do get put on ZSR, we should have a ZSR Editor role that people can @ (but only when there's actually an edit available, not for requests like "can you rewrite this?").
  12.
  13. As a ZSR editor, I know that many things have been requested to be changed in the discord before, and with this idea I want people interested in updating ZSR to write the stuffs they want changed themselves. I won't be editing ZSR forever so I want to get more people involved in it.
  14.
  15. We should also have a small guideline for good ZSR videos. Since ZSR is a wiki, videos should avoid self-advertisement. However the video will be or can be asked to be credited if it's a tutorial or explanation video.
  16. Optimally, every trick can have two types of videos. The preferred types of videos are as follows:
  17. - One video showing off the trick, with only gameplay footage and no voice-over. The trick should be performed as optimally as possible speed-wise.
  18. - One (or more) tutorial/explanation video. Both text and voice tutorials are fine. Once again, avoid self-advertisement in the video itself though. But for these you will be credited on ZSR.
  19. Videos MUST be on youtube.
  20.
  21. As for text changes, the only thing that matters is that there is no loss of information ever. Full rewrites are highly encouraged, but make sure no info gets lost.
  22.
  23. Finally, I will not ask contributors via discord to follow the markdown syntax, I can do them myself as that is not too time-consuming.
