LAST TIME, you took on the Beat Malady Of Night, to eject Black Belle from her reign of terror on Stellerid Street! But negotiations were interrupted by the howling sirens of the police force! They've come to apprehend Belle, but upon noticing the notorious musuem thefter himself decided to phone in the big guns! You've escaped out the back, but there's an ambush set up here, too...

Pomp:
The parking lot is full of civilians, some panicking, others just around for the show. Pomp shoos off some who've gotten too close for comfort, and slams his hands on the hood of a revving police car, "Boss, go! I'll hold 'em off!"

Cyprien:
"Ah..well this has taken a turn for the worse..."

Black Belle:
"Separate! Force them to divide their focus!" Belle regards you with curiosity, "You shall come with me. The others will distract their forces, and we are the most capable of fending for ourselves against the dregs that remain." She pulls out a GUN'S, adorned with a thorny viper sporting a wreath of rose petals on its head, "That is, of course, acceptable?"

Cyprien:
Cy nods, "Of course!" He has no intention of arguing with her now that they're both surrounded by cops and she also has a gun.

"A gross belly does not produce a refined mind....if ever old wisdom was proven, it is now." She scans the area for a way out, "Make way to the department store! We shall lose this detestable being in the small hallways! It may give us a chance to don disguises, as well."

The portly cop grabs a shopper by the cart and hurls them toward you, groshares and all! "Waste a' food, but it's worth it to catch crooks like yous!"

"Codsarn it!" Your pursuer lumbers after you, pulverizing muffins beneath her feet. Vehicles drift apart as she squeezes between them.

Black Belle:
Belle aims her derringer through the windshield of the patrol car, "They're too cowardly to rush down the barrel of a gun. Clear the street for me!"

Patrol Car:

The street, for what it's worth, is full of cars, and the occasional pedestrian rushing across. Seems the cops are too busy to bother directing traffic

The police are starting to get over their anxiety about Belle's gun, and Boombalatty is closing in, you better act quick! Okay, quick is a strong word, but she's getting there

Belle whips her pistol arm at the patrol car and fires! A tiny dart flies through the air, leaving a pinprick hole in the windshield, and embedding itself into the officer at the wheel! "Go! That won't put them out of comission for long!"

Cyprien:
"Right!" Cy sprints across the way towards the mall.

"I feel like this may not be your first time doing this...!"

Patrol Car 1:
The officer in the other seat grabs the wheel and slams the accelerator, but they're wildly inaccurate! Still, they're coming toward you!

You hear a faint "phweeeeet" of a whistle in the background, and indistinct yelling. Sounds like she's having trouble getting across the road.

"That was a close call, are you alright?"

Belle wheels on you, apparently angry you saved her life, "Close?! Have you any idea the value of what you just destroyed? You shall serve under me until such time I decide that this debt--" The distant whistle snaps her attention back to reality, and she hustles toward the store, "Gh...come! We haven't the time to discuss this now!"

Cy smiles, "I would consider your life of more value, but I apologize none the less." He follows along behind the fuming gang-star.

"...Six points." She runs to the lock, and spins the chamber on her revolva-derringer, before BLASTING the lock with a shot of acid! "That's the sole acid cartridge I brought, so ---...keep your fruit, boy. ...But you may treat me to lobster after this ordeal, if you wish to make a step towards your debt." You hear footsteps from behind you - that other cop, or something else, must be catching up - "Keep them at bay, boy! I will find something in this scrapheap... Feel free to watch, but mind you, I can always procure more of those acid rounds."

Belle rifles through some racks, tossing away tops with disdain, "Gh...peasant taste is repugnant..."

He turns back around to Belle, "They're almost here; wouldn't a woman of your beauty make any outfit appealing?"

You notice a flash of purple in one of the windows, something...fuzzy? Then, you hear scratching at the other door!

Black Belle:
"Tch...fine..." After another moment's scrutinization, she picks an outfit. Crossing her arms over each other and lifting her top, she remarks, "Now would be a good time to turn away, if you value your prolonged health."

Cyprien:
"R-..right!" he squeaks out, averting his eyes as his face flushes red.

The rattling at the back door hasn't changed, and the whip-lass grumbles out more things about safety codes and breaches of conduct, but the scratching at the front has stopped - to be replaced with the shattering of glass! An ADORABLE PUPPER bolts in through the window!
