- >Long time ago strange men with strange hobbies bought out a large block of newly build suburbs
- >these men wore strange clothing to blend into the enviroment and carried strange tools
- >tools made of wood and steel
- >tools made of sheet metal
- >and tools made of plastic
- >overall they were good neighbors
- >courteous but somewhat estranged and alienated by society for their interests
- >all was well if not for one thing
- >in some neighborhoods around the area peaople were hearing rather peculiar sounds at night
- >sometimes it would be a light knocking, as though a bird outside is pecking away at a pebble
- >at other times it was louder, sounding like a book falling on a wooden floor
- >but what caused the most concern for the neighborhood and even the city itself was something louder still
- >on a couple occassion on days of no particular note a thundering roar coming from earth itself
- >and the shaking permeating throughout the local area
- >needless to say people were scared
- >the government of course assured everyone that this was simply an earthquake
- >even though the city was hunderds upon hundreds of miles away from the nearest fault
- >people believed it
- >the slight knocking and smacking sounds continued for years with the occasional earth rumble here and there
- >but one day it all stopped
- >no knocking
- >no banging
- >nothing but the sounds of the suburbs
- >a week passed
- >a month passed
- >nothing was happening
- >But then on one of the days
- >bank collectors came to one of the houses with strange men
- >whome nobody has seen for quite some time
- >They tried to get in contact with the men to request payment for their credit but no one answered the phone
- >Once they got to the door they saw that it was unlocked
- >They cracked open the door and shouted 'Is anybody home?'
- >But they were greeted with a solemn silence and a peculiar smell
- >They decided to look around
- >They saw a clean room with small ammounts of dust here and there
- >They saw a plate with half eaten, mostly rotten food
- >A still running computer with the browser open to a strange cryptozoology website
- >Looking some more around the house the collectors did not find anything wierd or out of place
- >Car still in the garage, fridge still has some food in it
- >Seemed as though someone simply steped out for a second
- >A week or so ago
- >Never to return
- >Soon a similar scene was discovered all along the block
- >All had half eaten food rotting
- >All had running computers
- >All browsers were open to that strange website
- >Police investigated but found nothing
- >The case went cold
- >Years passed
- >Houses went from owner to owner but none seemed to stay for long
- >Some mysteriously vanishing others loosing all their sanity
- >Soon the homes became abandoned due to it's bad reputation
- >There they stood, forgoten and uncared for for the next 60 years
- >But one day the a wealthy man bought out this cursed place to build a highrise complex in it's place
- >because of this he sent an inspection and demolition teams to clean up the run down houses
