  1. Gilligan was walking. Her heart was beating rather quickly, and she was focused on something ahead. Then... As she passed... A familiar sight. The boy she had failed to take down earlier, but later learned was the prince of Assholedel…
  2.
  3. Could she take him now?
  4.
  5. "Oye You!"
  6.
  7. Fingers curled around her staff, and without further warning, she'd engage in battle, hoping for a chance to take down the vampire prince.
  8. (Gilligan)
  9.
  10. Gilligan releases a pulse of decay as they're enshrouded by ravenous occult!
  11.
  12. "..?"
  13.
  14. For as much as Ambrose remained stationary for the most part, his gaze turned towards Gilligan, rather amused to witness the fact that she would becoming at him at all.
  15.
  16. How peculiar.
  17.
  18. "--Oh, please."
  19.
  20. "You never learned your lesson, did you?"
  21.
  22. But that does not make Ambrose shy away from the conflict. Quite on the contrary, there seems to be an ever growing presence of something wicked, something unnatural. Something...
  23.
  24. Grand.
  25.
  26. "Collective. Take care of this for me, will you?"
  27.
  28. The amalgamation of impressive potency and strength rises, buzzing with thoughts, emotions and various whispers alike. There, it already draws the bow for him.
  29.
  30. These dark arrows pointed at the mutant.
  31.
  32. "You didn't think it would get any simpler, did you..?"
  33.
  34. Even then, the air distorts around him; something different all the same was present.
  35.
  36. Perhaps, she's made a great mistake just now.
  37. (Ambrose Roche)
  38.
  39. Ambrose Roche assumes the Caster stance!
  40.
  41. Gilligan has engaged Ambrose Roche in Dangerous combat, with a capture roll of 2
  42.
  43. {RP BATTLE} Ambrose Roche is ready for battle!
  44.
  45. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 10)
  46.
  47. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 9)
  48.
  49. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 8)
  50.
  51. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 7)
  52.
  53. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 6)
  54.
  55. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 5)
  56.
  57. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 4)
  58.
  59. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 3)
  60.
  61. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 2)
  62.
  63. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 1)
  64.
  65. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: Go!)
  66.
  67. There's an evident surprise.
  68.
  69. Is Gilligan slipping? Or perhaps Ambrose has grown this much in power.. for as much as she attempts to corner the Prince, time and time again she finds herself on the premise of already being overwhelmed by the dark arrows and the toxin alike.
  70.
  71. Truly, he's grown plenty.
  72.
  73. Yet the purple hue becomes all too prevalent in the air - shifting and translocating the bits and pieces of space- a testament to such found in how she attempts to engage against the Prince, yet finds herself lacking.
  74.
  75. But how?
  76.
  77. "--Hm."
  78.
  79. "Something's changed. You are failing, here."
  80.
  81. "Certainly this isn't the end of your show?"
  82. (Ambrose Roche)
  83.
  84. There was truth to his words. Uncomfortable truths, and Gilligan was slipping. Memories that wasn't hers haunted her dreams and the echoes of a foreign past was a constant stress. With hunter also losing his arm, there was an unquelled rage within her.
  85.
  86. "Shut, shut, shut, shut up!"
  87.
  88. She snarled, trying her best, but something wasn't quite right. She had to FOCUS.
  89. (Gilligan)
  90.
  91. {RP BATTLE} Ambrose Roche is ready for battle!
  92.
  93. {RP BATTLE} Gilligan is ready for battle!
  94.
  95. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 10)
  96.
  97. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 9)
  98.
  99. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 8)
  100.
  101. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 7)
  102.
  103. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 6)
  104.
  105. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 5)
  106.
  107. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 4)
  108.
  109. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 3)
  110.
  111. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 2)
  112.
  113. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 1)
  114.
  115. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: Go!)
  116.
  117. Ambrose Roche has lost 12 vitality from this battle for three hours.
  118.
  119. Gilligan has sustained a grevious injury in battle...
  120.
  121. Gilligan has rolled 3 or over: they may escape capture attempts (unless otherwise specified)!
  122.
  123. There must be consequences for attacking the Prince.
  124.
  125. And Gilligan would see them all firsthand. Whereas the likes of the Collective constantly conjure the powerful runes that belong to the studies of Riftmancy, it is seemingly unpracticed, unrefined in its own right.
  126.
  127. A dangerous thing for the caster.
  128. A perfect weapon against his enemies.
  129.
  130. Amidst the exchange of toxins and dark magics, the arrows are constantly fired against the mutant, seeking to tear away at her flesh with all that could be worth; if only then does she finally begin to notice what he's been preparing all along.
  131.
  132. The purple hue lingers in the air, wrapping around her,
  133. but it's too late.
  134.
  135. "--You were so focused on fighting that you didn't even notice this, did you?"
  136.
  137. She made no word, no commentary of it previously- of the purple hue gathering around her. And now, the Prince had her briefly incapacitated, with a single order given.
  138.
  139. "Collective. Throw her inside the warp."
  140.
  141. There, she finds herself swallowed inside the unleashed runecasting- inside the ever growing purple dark. There, she could find herself travelling in a place somewhere else...
  142.
  143.
  144. Everywhere, and nowhere.
  145. Existent, and non-existent.
  146. The Void.
  147.
  148.
  149. The brief jump through the warp is already enough to not only crush her bones, but to disassociate her from the reality as a whole- the tether that oft holds the living beings close to Eternia was fractured, damaged; shaken to its very core.
  150.
  151. It's terrifying how quickly such damage could be made - considering that she's spent there only anywhere between five to ten seconds. But even those few seconds..
  152.
  153. Felt like a painful hour.
  154.
  155. "--Ah."
  156.
  157. She's spat out from the Void, quickly; he doesn't seem to notice these seconds, whereas the experience for Gilligan was much more different.
  158.
  159. "I see."
  160.
  161. "More flaws in runework. Hm... I need to work on the quickness."
  162.
  163. The fate of the mutant?
  164.
  165. Ambrose doesn't even seem bothered. She served as a part of experiment, a trial and error.
  166.
  167. Beyond that, he did not care.
  168. (Ambrose Roche)
  169.
  170. Focus, focus, focus-
  171.
  172. Gilligan's heartrate increased rapidly. She was making wrong move - many wrong moves! She knew what the princes set was, it was the same as hers, and she had fought users with the same set many times before so why, why did she make mistake after mistake?
  173.
  174. Was she scared?
  175.
  176. Gilligan gritted her teeth at each blow. Each corruptive burn that assaulted her small frame, and she focused as well as she could on her target through the mist of toxic haze and spores.
  177.
  178. "Seen wha-"
  179.
  180. Purple, suddenly all around. It wrapped around her and suddenly her movement was entirely restricted. She couldn't go back into smog form either, and a sense of dread, of unreality struck her as she was tossed inside... somewhere.
  181.
  182. Darkness. Darkness you will return to.
  183.
  184. Not the right kind. Broken.
  185.
  186. You? Ah, as if. Wrong. WRONG!
  187.
  188. Il Thuliya…
  189.
  190.
  191.
  192. Gilligans body contorted. Her mind fragmented. One, many. She was the figures around her but she was also only her. The ground was close. Below, but also above, and suddenly it was upon her, crushing, twisting.
  193. "NO!"
  194. Black hands reached forth. Grabing, reaching. Pulling at her flesh. Whispers, hostilities. It was more-
  195. She screamed again.
  196. A grueling scream- yet backwards, no was it? she didn't know. It left her. Or did it enter?
  197.
  198. She gasped.
  199. Back
  200. BACK.
  201.
  202. Where?
  203.
  204. WRONG!
  205.
  206. BROKEN.
  207.
  208. Gilligan was spat out. Her body contorted. Blood running from her eyes and nose. Gasping. Disoriented, distorted, and indeed what the voices said.
  209.
  210. Broken...
  211. (Gilligan)
  212.
  213. Odd.
  214.
  215. How many times has it been by now, to be attacked by those that seek to take the Prince down? If anything, it seemed like something akin to a repetitive cycle of them constantly trying that again and again, and again...
  216.
  217. Yet never having enough.
  218.
  219. "How peculiar.."
  220.
  221. The circumstances of the Void travel were most dangerous, indeed - especially if the runework was rushed in such manner. And yet, the reason it's rushed is because in such combat scenarios, there's simply no time to double-check everything.
  222.
  223. There's no time to ensure the calculations are correct.
  224.
  225. And so, it becomes an experiment - until Ambrose would learn to do it intuitively. Of course, he also knew what dangers Riftmancy posed, and as such...
  226.
  227. There's no way he would experiment on himself.
  228. The likes of Gilligan, however?
  229. Perfect test subject.
  230.
  231. "Your contribution is welcome."
  232.
  233. For better or worse, the Prince had no interest in sticking around- which is perhaps part of Gilligan's luck. Had he stayed around, this might've turned out much worse, but...
  234.
  235. Already, the heir of Asphodel departs.
  236.
  237. Somewhere else, thoughtful.
  238. (Ambrose Roche)
