- DAY 1: Subjects 1 and 2 (henceforth referred to as S1 and S2) were brought in today, which surprised us - we've never had human subjects before. But we were informed that Master Porky has demanded we use S1 and S2 to make him some new 'toys'. We commenced work stabilizing them.
- DAY 2: S1 is stable, having sustained relatively minor injuries compared to S2, though both were barely clinging to life. S1 required a blood transfusion, and we managed to synthesize enough to sustain him, as well as enough for S2 if needed, as both subject share virtually identical DNA.
- S2, however, is still struggling for his life, and doing an admiral job at it on his own, but without help he won't survive another night. If it were up to me, I would just let the child pass away to save him from his suffering, but Master Porky does not share my sentiments, stating "If I can't have the set, I don't want them at all", and it would be a waste to let S1 go as well, so we will continue.
- An estimated 60% of S2's body will require replacement or heavy reconstruction, mostly his face on the right side, as well as the left side of his torso. His left arm required amputation at the elbow due to extreme crushing damage, and the stump left uncauterized to allow for possible biological replacement.
- S1 and S2 were both placed on a nutrient drip, and S1 was placed in a holding cell under heavy sedation while S2 is processed, so he does not harm himself.
- S2 is expected to stabilize in the next few days, as his organ systems have been successfully repaired.
- DAY 3: S2 was stabilized early this morning and placed in a 75% Nutrient and 25% Water solution bath while a replacement arm is prepared. Painkiller use on both subjects has been ordered halted to allow them to 'become accustomed to the pain' as the head scientist put it. As soon as their body modifications have been completed, we will commence reprogramming their brains.
- DAY 4: S2 hasn't stopped screaming since his last painkiller dose wore off last night. As sedation in this state is unwise, a muzzle or gag has been proposed so he does not disturb the other experiments. My suggestion to just place them back on painkillers has fallen on deaf ears it seems.
- In his holding area, S1 has been in an agitated state all morning, and a solution hasn't been found to calm him yet. Reactions to the sounds S2 is making have been ruled out, as he cannot be heard from the holding bays.
- S1's body modifications will be carried out this evening. Plans are to include a number of powerful offensive abilities in the more aggressive S1, and defensive sets in S2. S1 is to be outfitted with an electrical attack to strike from long range, as well as various biological and mechanical body enhancements to make him stronger and faster.
- I have been assigned to DNA and mental testing.
- DAY 5: S1 and S2's DNA is, as previously stated, virtually identical - they must be twins. They only real difference is hair colour, which I suspect was a freak mutation in one child, though as it appears to have no harmful effects on either of them, as well as being rather unimportant, this genetic quirk will go unchanged. More blood and replacement organs are being synthesized as a write this, to b placed in cold storage for emergency repairs if required.
- S2 has settled down slightly since the previous day, though it seems to be more from exhaustion than anything else. I attempted to speak to the child, but his voice was rough and he was incoherent for the most part, and looked like he hadn't slept at all, though the nutrient bath seems to be helping his condition. All I managed to get from him was begging to know where his brother is... I told him that S1 was safe, and he started to cry. I feel bad for S2, but there's not much I can do. After he stopped crying, I managed to give him a small dose of painkiller before changing the nutrient solution, as it was starting to fill with blood from his arm, and scheduled a transfusion. He fell asleep a short while after. He looks like he needed it.
- Afterwards, I moved on to S1's holding cell. He was much more talkative than S2, though most of what he said was insults. He has healed very well with help from the rejuvenation capsule, and came close to me when he spoke, holding onto the bars of his cage the entire time we spoke, crouching on the floor. I have transcribed the recording of our conversation below:
- S1: Who are you?
- ME: One of the doctors who's trying to help you and your brother-- [at this point he interrupts]
- S1: Where is he? Did you hurt him?! Let me out! [He appears agitated and shakes the bars]
- ME: He's safe, but I'm not here to talk about him, I'm here to talk about you. How are you feeling?
- S1: [VULGAR LANGUAGE REDACTED]
- ME: Be polite, or I'll have Dr. ██████ sedate you again.
- S1: [REDACTED] [He bares his teeth]
- ME: If you co-operate then you will see him sooner.
- S1: [He stops speaking and goes still, but I can tell he's upset still.]
- ME: How are you feeling?
- S1: My head hurts...I'm hungry. I don't like that grey stuff you guys keep givin' me.
- ME: I'll tell them that. Are you feeling sick at all? Dizzy?
- S1: No. [He turns his back to me and refuses to speak further.]
- At that point I wrote a message for the cooks, and retired for the day.
- DAY 6: Today was uneventful. I am told that S1 is behaving slightly better once he was given real food, and I imagine S2 will be the same way once he's off the IV and can eat on his own. I tried to speak with S2 again, but all he did was cry.
- DAY 7: S2 was placed in a rejuvenation capsule for the first time today, after his bioreplacement arm was attached. It seems the transplant was a success, and he won't need medication in case of rejection, as we used his own DNA to manufacture it. His body modifications were plotted out, and include a flamethrower cannon to damage anyone who gets too close while in combat, as S2 will mainly be a shieldbearer. I managed to convince the higher-ups to place S1 and S2 in the same holding cell, and the two have been inseparable since, requiring S2 to be sedated while S1 was taken to have a few tuneups.
- DAY 8: A remarkable (and dangerous) discovery was made today. It seems that two Subjects possess psychic powers, or 'PSI'. Master Porky was ecstatic about this when the news was delivered, despite S1 having used his 'PSI' to nearly kill several guards before being tranquilized, and S2 disabling the security systems for a few minutes. Both were heavily sedated as a solution began development.
- DAY 9: After around-the-clock work and some input from Master Porky, a 'PSI Magnet;, as he called it, was installed in their cell, which drains their power and prevents them from using PSI as long as it's active. They will be left for a few days while their equipment is built and so that they may recover.
- DAY 10-15: Uneventful. S1 and S2 are recovering in their cell and I have been busy with another project in the meantime, but I will return tomorrow.
- DAY 16: Saw S1 and S2 for the first time in several days. I was surprised to see the state they had regressed into - while their bodies are in peak physical shape by now, their minds appear to be going, S! having reverted to a violent, animal-like state, and S2 reduced to a weeping mess.
