Kyusung grew up in Incheon South Korea. From a young age he loved singing with his mother. They were very close and she always wanted what was best for him since he was an only child and his father left them when he was 4. Growing up his mom always taught him to chase his dreams and that if he ever could to smile and help others smile. That’s kind of when he became a funny jokester. He loved to see others smile. So when he was a freshman he decided he wanted to become an idol and auditioned for SM.
