Mythweavers Meeting Minutes 5/5/18

Burmice of Lazrien@vaelynx blinks in, picking bits of spiderweb out of her hair. "...Lovely afternoon, everyone."

Erik Nishimori@divineone69 sets a journal on the table, and prepares to take notes.

Arha@eryth#6489 nods a greeting at Burmice. "Thanks for joining us."

Bain One-Eye@cheekyhound walks over to the rest of the group, stretching his arms and yawning.

[Say] Burmice of Lazrien@vaelynx: "...I might have had a slight teleportation issue. Whose clever idea was it to redecorate on short notice?"

Arha@eryth#6489 motions towards the table. "Please, make yourselves comfortable." Despite her own owrds, and being seated in a surprisingly ornate chair, Arha herself looks anything except comfortable.

Brynnel Moonfeather@mochakimono looks decidedly uncomfortable, limping badly and leaning on a cane for support.

[Say] Bain One-Eye@cheekyhound: "I'm guessing the food'll come next?"

Blake Midnight@psykoticdragon#2962 shook his head, noting that everyone was uncomfortable.

[Say] Burmice of Lazrien@vaelynx: "....Make yourself comfortable. Can we at least get pillows?"

Brynnel Moonfeather@mochakimono plops heavily into a seat with a sigh of small relief.

Bain One-Eye@cheekyhound follows up with, "Oh! Food too."

Arha@eryth#6489 smiles faintly. "It's been like this for a while now, Burmice." She motions a member of the stronghold's staff over and sends her to gather drinks and food for everyone. "So..." She sighs.

Burmice of Lazrien@vaelynx doesn't seem particularly happy about the chair, but manages to settle into a reasonably comfy position.

Brynnel Moonfeather@mochakimono is grateful to just not stand.

[Say] Arha@eryth#6489: First of all, I want to thank you all for your help in defeating the creature known as the Dark One and the traitor Lothar. This whole situation could've meant the end of the guild.

Bain One-Eye@cheekyhound smiles, "Well, I honour my contracts...most of the time"

Alena Intevessa@tenebrasinlucem#9581 finally elects to take a seat, listening quietly to learn some of what happened in her absence.

Burmice of Lazrien@vaelynx settles to float over a couple pastries and a glass of wine. Terrible seating /has/ to mean better refreshments, right?

Arha@eryth#6489 continues as five servants deposit plates with assorted food and drinks on the table. Three of them remain, ready to serve whomever needs it.

Brynnel Moonfeather@mochakimono serves herself some of the assorted food, head turned to Arha as she listens quietly.

[Say] Arha@eryth#6489: However, despite our victory, this matter has caused the guild a significant setback. The council has lost its most prominent member. The people that live in our lands, whom we are bound to protect, look at us with fear and suspicion now. The land is still not safe. That's why I have a few announcements to make.

Arha@eryth#6489 hesitates for a moment and clears her throat. "First of all, during the following days the guild's structure will be reorganized. While the current contracts and agreements will remain" She looks at Bain and Brynnel in particular. "some of you may be offered a new position within the guild. The same will happen for some older guild members." She looks at Erik.
Bain One-Eye@cheekyhound takes off his helmet, setting it down near his plate.

[Say] Arha@eryth#6489: Now... as I said this will be discussed properly in the near future, but if you wish to ask any questions on this matter, please do so now. Otherwise we'll proceed to the main reason we called you here today.

Alena Intevessa@tenebrasinlucem#9581 remains quiet, having nothing to add or ask.

Brynnel Moonfeather@mochakimono nods slowly, forehead creasing with slight confusion.

Bain One-Eye@cheekyhound raises his hand, "I still get paid, right?"

Blake Midnight@psykoticdragon#2962 kept his arms crossed as he waited patiently."

Erik Nishimori@divineone69 simply drinks from his flask writing in his journal.

Arha@eryth#6489 sighs. "Yes, Bain, as I said the current contracts will still be valid."

Bain One-Eye@cheekyhound gives a nod, "Alright, then" before turning his attention back to his food.

[Say] Burmice of Lazrien@vaelynx: "Hmm." Burmice nestles on her seat and stops munching for a moment. "The land is not safe, you say?"

[Say] Burmice of Lazrien@vaelynx: "What seems to be the issue, specifically? Brigandry? Or some manner of an organized effort?"

Arha@eryth#6489 leans forward and nods at Burmice. "Yes. That brigns us to the core of this meeting. There are several urgent matters that need adressing, and everyone's collaboration will be needed."

[Say] Blake Midnight@psykoticdragon#2962: "I would be surprised to hear if it was. It has always been dangerous. Orcs, devilkin, dragons, and the likes."

[Say] Burmice of Lazrien@vaelynx: "...Sounds like a poor locale to build a headquarters at. Unless money were /that/ much of an issue."

[Say] Arha@eryth#6489: First, a small band of barbarians has remained within our lands and even attacked the village. Since the stronghold guard is still in disarray after Lothar's... 'intervention', we need someone to gather a patrol, find their base, and eliminate them or drive them away once and for all.

Bain One-Eye@cheekyhound takes a sip from his drink, "Sounds easy enough."

Arha@eryth#6489 glances at everyone at the table. "Any volunteers?"

[Say] Burmice of Lazrien@vaelynx: "Mm. You know. Should manpower become an issue.... I still /am/ lieutenant-general of the Black Dragon Mercenaries. While we're located in Luskan... contracting out a reasonable peacekeeping force of+

[Say] Blake Midnight@psykoticdragon#2962: "I'm not one for teamplay, never have been, but I'll go."

[Say] Burmice of Lazrien@vaelynx: perhaps a couple dozen wouldn't be impossible."

[Say] Brynnel Moonfeather@mochakimono: "I would come on these missions, yes."

Arha@eryth#6489 nods at Burmice. "That is an option, but if we can't take care of the threat ourselves... then we're in a worse position than I feared."

[Say] Bain One-Eye@cheekyhound: "Eh, it'd be good exercise. I'm in."

Alena Intevessa@tenebrasinlucem#9581 scratches the side of her head. "I'm not the best with fighting, but I could help aid any who are injured in the efforts."

Bain One-Eye@cheekyhound nearly spits out his drink and looks at the hulking figure, "You? Not good at fighting?"

[Say] Burmice of Lazrien@vaelynx: "Arha..." she sighs a little. "I have no doubt any one person, as they sit here, would have trouble taking care of the problem in the short term. However..."

[Say] Burmice of Lazrien@vaelynx: "There's no substitute for manpower. A single person, however potent and amazing can only be in one place at one time."

[Say] Burmice of Lazrien@vaelynx: "And we have hectares and hectares of land and settlements to worry about."

Alena Intevessa@tenebrasinlucem#9581 almost blushes at the half-orc's response, though she doesn't offer a rebuttle.

[Say] Blake Midnight@psykoticdragon#2962: "There is. Strategy."

[Say] Burmice of Lazrien@vaelynx: "A part of any successful strategy, Blake, is to allocate enough people for a job."

Arha@eryth#6489 frowns slightly. "I am aware. And that brings us to the next and last point I wanted to bring today." She glances around at the table. "We all come from very different backgrounds. Each of you has different skills and strengths, and that's what makes us strong. But I think we haven't been taking advantage of that strenght. That's why, for those of you who belong or have contacts with other organizations, we would be willing to discuss the terms of an association or alliance. The guild has vast resources. It's time we put them to good use. Similarly, those guild members who so desire, can ask for guild support to see their projects through. Some steps have already been taken in that regard." She looks at Burmice. "But if someone has anything to offer or ask for mutual benefit, feel free to do so, now or in private."

Alena Intevessa@tenebrasinlucem#9581 rubs her chin for a moment. "Well, should the guild ever need aid or a place to operate from in the Sword Mountains, the monastery is always open. It'd be fairly easy to use as a base of sorts should it be needed."

Burmice of Lazrien@vaelynx looks at Alena with perhaps a spark of interest, but says nothing, for now.

[Say] Brynnel Moonfeather@mochakimono: "I... rhm... I know of... two..."

Bain One-Eye@cheekyhound looks at the robed drow, "Well, she's not the only one with a company. It might be a tad bit smaller, but my boys are always ready for action."

Bain One-Eye@cheekyhound grins, "Won't be free, though."

Arha@eryth#6489 nods at Alena and Bain "I think we can reach an agreement." She turns towards Brynnel. "Yes? Go ahead."

[Say] Brynnel Moonfeather@mochakimono: "My aunt is not... affiliated, but deals with... magical reagents and services. It would also not be free, but, she is always prepared for bartering..."

Brynnel Moonfeather@mochakimono looks down at the table's surface as she speaks on that point, looking up again after. "I also know of another company, which might associate. The Lauder Enterprises. +

[Say] Brynnel Moonfeather@mochakimono: + They have mercenaries and merchants also..."

[Say] Brynnel Moonfeather@mochakimono: "I have worked with them sometimes in the past."

Arha@eryth#6489 nods. "Both options are interesting. Actually, we have already started, or will do very soon, conversations with Lauder Enterprises. Nyxie is taking care of it."

[Say] Burmice of Lazrien@vaelynx: "While we're at it... why not get Nikki to do something about our yard?"

Arha@eryth#6489 hums softly. "We'd also be interested to strengthen our bonds with your people, Erik." She gazes intensely at him. "Do you think that would be possible?"

Erik Nishimori@divineone69 looks across the table. "and what people do you speak of I am a representative of four groups. My race whom tend to be secretive, the Fey, The Harpers, and the group from the eastern lands."

[Say] Brynnel Moonfeather@mochakimono: "...I have... fey contacts, also."

Burmice of Lazrien@vaelynx 's eyebrows rise a little.

Arha@eryth#6489 shakes her head. "In this case I meant the Harpers, since they're the organization that operates closer to us. But if you think there could be a mutual benefit from agreements with anyone else, all offers will be heard."

Bain One-Eye@cheekyhound holds out his plate to one of the attendants, "Bring me another serving."

Alena Intevessa@tenebrasinlucem#9581 listens curiously, though doesn't make any further commentary. She also distinctly hasn't touched any food or drink.

Erik Nishimori@divineone69 nods. "In that case I will speak with our leading members at the next meeting, and see about maybe setting up a safehouse here at the stronghold."

Arha@eryth#6489 || The man readily attends Bain's command.

Bain One-Eye@cheekyhound gives a satisfied look at both the attendant and the food before resuming to dine.

Arha@eryth#6489 nods. "We can discuss the details in private. Same for everyone else." She looks around the table. "If someone has anything else to say, please do so. Otherwise, this is all for this meeting. Those of you who volunteered to take care of the bandit problem, please stay so we can organize the patrol. Burmice, you too stay for a moment if you don't mind. I have something to ask of you."

Alena Intevessa@tenebrasinlucem#9581 nods, her wings shifting as she moves to stand, looking at the few who had assembled for the meeting.

Burmice of Lazrien@vaelynx looks at Arha for a moment.

Brynnel Moonfeather@mochakimono stays seated.

Arha@eryth#6489 meets Burmice's gaze, but says nothing. "If there's nothing else, that will be all. Thanks everyone for joining. Those who will form the patrol wait here for a moment, please."

Alena Intevessa@tenebrasinlucem#9581 stretches and moves off to one side, curious enough to stick around for awhile longer, even if she is technically dismissed.

Burmice of Lazrien@vaelynx scribbles something into her notebook, then once again tears off a strip and sets it alight.

Bain One-Eye@cheekyhound looks longingly at the fur rugs by the fireplace.

Burmice of Lazrien@vaelynx tears off another strip.

Arha@eryth#6489 chuckles softly. "You can sit by the fire if you prefer, Bain. Burmice, come with me, please? I-" She interrupts herself for a second, looking surprised, then simply nods at her.

[Say] Burmice of Lazrien@vaelynx: ...aand a third. One would think she's a smoker.

Bain One-Eye@cheekyhound gives a wide grin to Arha before proceeding to the fur rugs.

Blake Midnight@psykoticdragon#2962 raised a brow at Arha before shaking his head.

Bain One-Eye@cheekyhound picks up his helmet and holds it in his hands.

Alena Intevessa@tenebrasinlucem#9581 moves over to sit on one of the benches near the fire. "And I never said I wasn't good at fighting, just that I wasn't much for it." The woman comments to Bain as he walks by.

Burmice of Lazrien@vaelynx nods to Arha.

Arha@eryth#6489 motions Burmy over.

Burmice of Lazrien@vaelynx sighs, and stands up from her seat.

Bain One-Eye@cheekyhound turns his head to look at the hulking Cambion, "I heard that."

[Say] Bain One-Eye@cheekyhound: "You're wasting your natural advantage. Name's Bain by the way."

Arha@eryth#6489 nods at Burmice. "I have a proposition to make that you may find interesting. See, as it is we have been focusing strongly in the combat and adventuring side of the guild. We needed to, with the dangers that surrounded us. But I've been thinking... some of our members are researches and arcane practitioners of considerable skill. I believe it would be beneficial to promote that."
