Vidya and Past Me

On evening the whole board fills
With people posting away
About vidya games and shitposting
But me, I'm free today
And I trace the path my life
Went since back in 93
Past primary school into this dank basement
I start to eat my breakfast shots were fired
My Steam's closed today but I don't mind
I'm already getting tired

There's old save games and screenshots
From games I used to love
I'm browsing the Steam specials page
There's always some sale there

Last night I dreamt I was the little kid
From year 1993
The one that  his head around the limosine
I was right there for his final lives, of mario or luigi
And oh my God past Me

Back then everybody worried further to the south
Missles screamed across Miami, trail and fall out
Teachers drilled their students hiding underneath their desks
To fear the twitchy trigger finger, of old Krushchev
But Cuba couldn't kill nobody, not like Dallas could
When I was growing up there, I understood

Remember when we'd meet up
Outside your mothers house?
The two of us were laughing, we promised we'd be nice
Turning on the old PC rig and fighting for the mouse
We'd leave behind all that we know and play that one old game
Cut the .........s and tear away from all that kept us down
And oh my god past me

Now I fly around in Anthem, or jump out of a flying plane
And I land on some island and I drive to the blue circle
And the Fortnites and all other games, don't make me feel the same
Why they ever did, it's hard now to explain
But to you, you never really stopped, still love them the same
And oh my god past me

November 22nd I was at my parent's PC
Just like everyone remembers when they still were a kid
The shudder that shot through me with that unexpexted call
I unlocked the front door and hit my fist against the wall
I should of come to rescue you, I should have should have yes
What happened in these past years, I could just guess

Remember when I would unpack it, and lay in the tray
And promised to play all day, but I had to go to bed instead
Last night I dreamt I held the games I used to love to play
I tried to get them to work again, but they wouldn't even run
And I couldn't help but wonder,
