  1. 2018 list: https://pastebin.com/6iM0TdMq
  2.
  3. Goal: 25 games, 10 of which are not replays, 5 from EoY 2018 steam library
  4.
  5. Completed (* indicates not a replay):
  6. 1. Super Mario Bros. - I can never get used to the momentum in this game. Lots of deaths to Hammer Bro snipes and hitboxes not being what I expected. Small Mario pretty much the whole way because whenever I'd slow down to pick up a mushroom I'd almost immediately lose it. Played on All-Stars.
  7. *2. Fallout 4 - Finally got past the beginning of this game. Used the Full Dialogue Interface mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1235), vanilla otherwise. That made for a more enjoyable experience than when I had attempted to play this game in the past. The game felt more like "Skyrim in the Fallout world" than FO3 or NV. I didn't care for any of the factions, so ended up with the Institute ending. I would have preferred something more neutral (ala Independent Vegas ending in New Vegas) but you get what you get. It was enjoyable until the endgame, where I mostly just sped through trying to complete it. Might replay in the future.
  8. *3. Super Metroid Nature - Romhack. Pretty good, some stuff hidden in stupid ways. Pretty close to vanilla SM which is what I prefer in a hack because I'm bad. http://forum.metroidconstruction.com/index.php/topic,4303.0.html
  9. *4. Axiom Verge - Fun Metroid homage. Starting out I was kind of eh about the game, but once I got the second coat upgrade and the grapple I started enjoying it a lot more. Pretty fun overall, none of the fights were frustratingly hard which I prefer.
  10. *5. Mass Effect - Shepard.
  11. 6. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX - played the week before the announcement of the new one, so I guess I'm playing this game twice in 2019. What a shame.
  12. *7. Mass Effect 2 - Shepard?
  13. *8. Professor Layton and the Curious Village - once I figured out that I could play this game on an emulator and not have to deal with the imprecision of my 3DS's touchscreen I was all in. Did all the puzzles and had a blast.
  14. *9. DKC Tropical Freeze (Switch, classic mode) - Donkey Kong dies a lot. Rocket barrel stages are flappy bird with worse controls. Donkey Kong dies a lot.
  15. *10. Mass Effect 3 - Shepard!!!
  16. 11. Assassin's Creed Odyssey - replay. Fun game, but too much content. Feeling severe burnout, no motivation to play the DLCs
  17. *12. Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 - first time completing the game on my own (think I beat the final boss on my brother's file in 1994), and got all the treasures and the planet. Fun game, Wario moves in a strange but highly predictable way; doesn't have the slippery movement that Mario often has, and I like that.
  18. 13. Fallout 3 - yet another Fallout 3 replay. Played through the Point Lookout DLC and finished the Broken Steel DLC, both for the first time. Also did Operation Anchorage.
  19. 14. Fallout: New Vegas - Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter. (NCR victory, nonviolent resolutions to as much stuff as possible)
  20. *15. Scribblenauts Unlimited - I learned that a lot of life's problems can be solved with a flamethrower. Or a giant sparkly rainbow katana.
  21. 16. Super Mario Odyssey - ugh, Darker Side. I got all the annoying minigame moons rather quickly this time though, so that's nice.
  22. 17. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - botw2 announcement impulsive replay. All dungeons.
  23. *18. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night - Very evocative of Aria of Sorrow which I love. Had some issues but overall was pretty good.
  24. *19. LIMBO
  25. *20. INSIDE - the power of working together
  26. *21. Yoshi's Crafted World - pretty easy, which I guess is the standard for Yoshi games these days. Felt tedious at times. Gave up on 100%ing pretty early on because replaying levels for a treasure hunt was just not fun. The soundtrack was...bad. If they aren't going to have many songs, could they at least make them better and not primarily played on a recorder???
  27. *22. Untitled Goose Game - HONKHONKHONKHONKHONKHONKHONKHONKHONK
  28. *23. Link's Awakening (Switch) - played 100% normal, any% hero mode, true ending (deathless) normal. Link's Awakening is real good y'all
  29. *24. Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age Definitive Edition - pros: fast turn-based combat, compelling story that kept moving, fun quirkiness, Sylvando. cons: postgame got grindy (so I didn't finish it which is a shame), elemental weaknesses weren't super obvious so I relied on physical combat which gets boring.
  30. *25. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - good game. controls were lacking - felt like whenever I tapped a direction Geralt would move 10 feet (played on PC with KB+M, which may have contributed). don't know if I'll play again - more likely to try out Witcher 1 & 2.
  31. *26. Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King - It was both too short and just the right length. Lots of fun.
  32. *27. Nier: Automata - A2 > 2B > 9S. Fun game, got all 26 endings.
  33. *28. Pokemon Shield - It's a Pokemon game. New mons are cool but not enough of them. World isn't as deep as other Pokemon games have had, though the Wild Area is a great concept. Wish there was an easier way to get Watts. I had fun, though.
  34. *29. Final Fantasy XV - Give Luna a chair
  35.
  36. Playing: Shovel Knight: King of Cards but won't finish in 2019
