- Judgements
- Overall, a pretty good debate from both of you and especially solid for your first time Hobo.
- With the first responses, Fem basically sets the tone for the debate and presents strong evidence for his claims while pushing it onto Hobo to either prove his team can overcome such firepower or immediately lose. Hobo has to show his team can close the gap while being bombarded by powerful projectiles from competent fighters. Fem also takes into account possible rebuttals and counters them, with one rebuttal actually being used by Hobo.
- Hobo's first response brings up a good point that Fem is using Zuko's amped feats (but it doesn't really affect the round). Unfortunately, Hobo's response is almost entirely on the defense and also fails to provide scans for a lot of his claims. The scans he does show are in regards to his team taking gunfire, except Fem has already prepared for this by showing his guns are much more effective than regular small firearms and Hobo just doesn't effectively prove that his team can take gunfire of that caliber. Hobo also claims that his team will be able to close the gap and just beat up Fem's team, but doesn't provide any scans or evidence to show how they'd do that. You should try to back up every claim you make with a scan.
- In Fem's next response, he presses against Hobo's lack of scans and then sets up how his team not only wins in a ranged fight, but in close quarters too. He brings up a good point with how Dracula's special abilities don't activate fast enough in comparison to Fem's team immediately shooting. Fem brings up how Hobo needs to not just show examples of his team having good mobility but also good reflexes to effectively close the gap without getting shot. Fem's close quarter arguments are just as effective, as he shows his team's strength and how his opponents are durable enough to survive CQC, while also establishing they can easily put distance to make it a ranged fight again.
- Hobo's counterarguments are an improvement compared to his opener due to him backing up his claims with links now. However, you should still try to back up every claim. If you want argue Spider-Man's armor scales of Iron Man, then you need to prove it. You should approach these debates as if judges don't have any prior knowledge on the characters you're running and thus you need to properly introduce them and their abilities. Most of Hobo's argument is basically just rebuttals instead of brings up new arguments, but he does press on important issues such as Zuko's durability. The one new argument Hobo brings up is BFR, which is valid but should've had more put into it.
- Fem makes comprehensive rebuttals to every counterargument he was given. Terminator's speed is offset his by his competency and physicality and Zuko is much more durable than argued and is going to be spamming powerful projectiles. Fem reiterates on how Hobo still hasn't proven his team has the piercing resistance to survive the gunfire from Fem's team. Fem also brings up how Dracula's immortality doesn't work for the tier and if taken literally, Tier Cap wouldn't be able to kill him as his "shield works with the logic of a punch" under the tier setter page. Fem then pushes doubt against Moon Knight's piercing and heat resistance along with Spider-Man durability, hacking, and scaling.
- Hobo's final response starts off strong. He puts doubt in the Bucky's accuracy and ability to handle cover. He then sets up Moon Knight's physical stats and Terminator's behavior in CQC. Terminator's lifting strength advantage then becomes offset by Hobo's introduction of Spider-Man's lifting strength. The rest of the response rebuts durability arguments made by Fem while providing Spider-Man's gadgetry.
- Fem wins. Fem sets the flow of the debate with his first response and Hobo is mostly on defense for the rest of the debate. Hobo's lack of scans showing how strong his characters are severely weakens his response and while he does later show examples for Moon Knight and Spider-Man's stats, they're a little too late and still fail to acknowledge important counters made by Fem. While Moon Knight does have good strength, durability, and mobility, he lacks the reaction speed to effectively avoid projectiles while closing in on Fem's team. And the argument for his piercing resistance is insufficient as Fem solidly lays out how powerful the firepower Bucky and Terminator are packing with Moon Knight lacking any feats to show he can withstand anything like that. On the other hand, I do believe Spider-Man isn't as slow and frail as Fem portrayed him to be. Hobo brings up good examples of his durability, lifting strength, and general speed. While I do think he's capable of hacking, I don't think it's something he's most likely going to be doing in the fight and Fem's example for Spider-Man's weak striking strength goes uncontested. Hobo's final team member, Dracula, almost receives no examples of how strong he is. Hobo mostly just focuses on his immortality and special abilities. The arguments with the biggest impact on the fight is the counters against Zuko's fire, but Fem lays a strong counter on how his fire wouldn't be hindered. So for how I think the fight goes as argued, Fem's team will lay down a barrage of projectiles. I don't think Dracula and Moon Knight are capable of closing the distance while avoiding this. Spider-Man on the other hand, I think will be perfectly capable of doing this, but is hard pressed to win a 1v3. Even if his teammates can close the gap along with him, Fem provides a more solid foundation for his team's strength, durability, speed, and competency that makes me believe they'd win a 3v3 as well.
