  1. >It's been a while since the Promised Day, you aren't sure of how many years have passed since you met your Doki.
  2. >In the first few years, the Doki androids were well-recieved, every Anon who loved their Doki got one, even if they had to wait a bit to save up, while some people got them just to be apart of the "fad", abandoning their Doki after a year or two.
  3. >The Dokis who were abandoned struggled to survive on their own, not only did they fight against people who wished to scrap them for some pocket money, they also had to fight against their own programming.
  4. >Dokis were never meant to be alone, without companionship, without a lover, each second was torment to them, filled with fear and anxiety.
  5. >Some Dokis found a way out, destroying their power-source, it became a common sight to see a slumped-over Doki in alleyways while walking at night, they were always disposed of when morning came, though.
  6. >As the years went by, and the problem of neglected Dokis became more apparent, the government issued a ban on Dokis, seeing it as a fix for the way humanity treated them.
  7. >Anons had their Dokis forcibly taken from them, families torn apart due to the actions of bandwagoners.
  8. >Some Anons had hope that they'd be reunited with their Doki, but it was for naught.
  9. >Every Doki confiscated ended up being scrapped, their silicone skin peeled off, their limbs snapped off to be used for other projects.
  10. >Some Anons managed to escape with their Dokis, going into hiding, dreading the coming future.
  11. >Every android needed to have their power-source replaced after a decade or so.
  12. >You were one of them, you shared a bunker with two other Anons.
  13. >Untrusting of each other at first, the three Dokis began talking to each other, telling tales of all the things they did with their Anons.
  14. >It was the first innocent sight the three of you saw in a while, despite everything that happened, your wives were eager to make friends.
  15. >You all shook hands, willing to cooperate with each other.
  16. >A few days pass, and you wake up to a loud sobbing.
  17. >One of the Anons you befriended lies on the floor, clutching his Doki tight, no longer making facial expressions, no longer speaking.
  18. >She was gone, anything she was before this was gone, now just a metal husk.
  19. >He got up, carrying his Doki in both arms, not replying to anyone.
  20. >While attemping to leave the bunker, he drops his former-Doki on the ground, her head bounces off the hard concrete, her beautiful face torn up from the impact.
  21. >In a rage, he screams, at the world, for doing this to him and his Doki, at God for making him so helpless.
  22. >He wished death on the people who made it this way, wanting them to suffer as he did.
  23. >Nothing you could say would help him, it was best to remain silent, after all, you can't blame him for feeling the way he did.
  24. >Soon, he left, there was no good-bye, you knew for sure that this would be the last time you ever saw him.
  25. >Now that you had an idea of the horror to come, you came up with a plan.
  26. >You don't want it to be this way, but sometimes, there's no other choice.
  27. >The other Anon you shared the bunker with left, not wanting to witness what's about to happen.
  28. >Your Doki stopped speaking in a feminine voice a few hours ago, now speaking to you in a more robotic voice fitting of her nature.
  29. >She doesn't have much time left.
  30. >You sit down with her, wrapping your arms around her.
  31. >Reaching into your pockets, you pull something out.
  32. >A small bottle of poison.
  33. >You hold your Doki tight, whispering sweet nothings into her ear.
  34. >You tell her how much she means to you, and how you wish things could have been different.
  35. >Her voice gets weaker, barely speaking that much.
  36. >You think about drinking the poison, within 10 minutes, you'd be dead.
  37. >"Anon... I'm glad things turned out the way they did." she says.
  38. >"Even with all the bad things that happened, you still stayed with me, sacrificing your happiness for mine, for that, I can't thank you enough."
  39. >Her voicebox starts glitching out, her eyes dim.
  40. >"I love you Anon... please don't forget that..."
  41. >And like that, she was gone.
  42. >You try to stay strong, but you can't hold back the tears.
  43. >You think about the poison again, it would be easy to end it now, you have nothing left to live for.
  44. >But you throw the bottle on the floor, breaking it.
  45. >Picking up your Doki, you leave the bunker.
  46. >You might be able to bring her back, all it takes is some sort of power-source, it won't be easy, but you wouldn't want to let her down, would you?
  47. >With your Doki in your arms, you set out to save your wife, and help those in the same position as you.
