  1. Pokémon Sword/Shield Surprise Trade Rules
  2.
  3. 1. General Rules
  4. 1.1 - Make sure to disconnect from Internet after Surprisetrading. When on the Internet, you can see other people in the Wild Area and participate in Max Raid Battles.
  5. 1.2 - You can choose any starter Pokemon.
  6. 1.3 - You are allowed to catch Pokemon BUT you must Surprise Trade them immediately, and they must fit the criteria of the last forced Wonder Trade. (For example, before beating Milo Lv20 or lower pokemon are allowed only, etc.)
  7. 1.4 - You are not allowed to use the Legendary Pokemon Eternatus. You must either deposit it in a box or surprise trade it away.
  8. 1.5 - Features other than Surprise Trade in the Y-Comm are banned.
  9.
  10.
  11. 2. Surprise Trade
  12. 2.1 - Prior to race
  13. 2.1.1 - You must catch a Pokemon prior to heading to the Pokemon Center in Wedgehurst.
  14.
  15. This is easiest done by catching an encounter on Route 1 on the way to Wedgehurst for the first time (this also skips the catching tutorial).
  16.
  17. 2.1.2 - Surprise trade this Pokemon away until you receive a Pokémon between the level 1 and 15.
  18. 2.1.3 - If you receive a level 9 or below Pokémon, level it up to level 10. You can use the starter you have to do this.
  19. 2.1.4 - After you have reached the level, surprisetrade away your starter Pokemon as well, with the same rules as before.
  20. 2.1.4 - Make sure the Pokémon you have received is not part of the banned list.
  21.
  22. 2.2 - During race (All of these are unlimited tries)
  23. 2.2.1 - Before Motostoke - Lv15
  24. 2.2.2 - After Milo - Lv20
  25. 2.2.3 - After Kabu - Lv30
  26. 2.2.4 - After Opal - Lv40
  27. 2.2.5 - After Raihan - Lv50
  28. 2.2.6 - After Rose - Lv60
  29.
  30.
  31. 3. Starting point (before you ready up for the race makes sure the following is done)
  32. 3.1 - You have done the events leading up to where you enter the Pokecenter in Wedgehurst. This includes going to the professor's house to beat Hop for the second time and then going back to Wedgehurst afterwards right before the Wild Area. This is the earliest you can Surprisetrade.
  33.
  34. We start on the tile JUST after leaving this Pokecenter.
  35.
  36. 3.2 - You have 2 Pokemon in your party other than your starter and the forced catch.
  37. 3.3 - One of these Pokemon is Lv7. This is your starter, though technically you can use the other Pokemon too.
  38. 3.4 - This is done so that you can enter the Spikemuth and Hammerlocke gyms because you need two pokemon.
  39.
  40. 4. Banned Pokémon List
  41. 4.1 - Legendaries (always banned)
  42.
  43. If the Pokemon does not have an attacking move (I.e. only has Growl) you may also send it back. If it only has a Ground/Poison/Psychic attacking move (I.e only Mud Shot/Acid/Confusion) you may also send it back
  44.
  45.
  46. 4.2 OP Things/Not different (banned only for your first Pokémon):
  47. Sobble/Drizzile/Inteleon, Growlithe/Arcanine, Drilbur/Excadrill
