  1. Video Games in control?
  2. Video games have been around since the 1950’s. They were meant to entertain, teach, and expand culture. There are multiple types of video games ranging from education games all the way to violent video games. Over the year’s there has always been that controversy of “Violent video games lead to bad behavior!” or “Violent video games help with stress and depression!”. During my childhood my brother introduced me to video games, and I was hooked. He played mostly Rated R video games which influenced what games I played growing up. Violent video games didn’t give me any extra aggression towards people, I never had a thought or the intention of hurting somebody as you would in a game that revolves around violence. These violent video games are a great way to release anger, not to encourage it. The one thing that concerns me is that the more that our technology advances, the more realistic these shooting and violent video games are becoming. In the teen years, most boy’s are attracted to violent video games because it catches their attention because what’s not fun about stealing cars, and driving around doing violent things you can’t do in the real world. It lets you escape reality and it truly allows you to write your own story. While playing these video games most people don’t even have the intention to cause any harm or violence outside of the video games. Have you ever felt some type of anger after playing a videogame that includes violence? Statistically, the side can lean to either side. How bad does video games influence us?
  3. Over the years, many people had the idea that these violent video games had a negative effect on teen’s behavior. Another problem with video games is how addicting they are. Once you play a video game you want to keep playing because you’re having so much fun, it starts to become an addiction after awhile. It becomes such a problem for teenagers in school because they’re grades are dropping tremendously due to playing video games when they’re supposed to be studying for a test or doing homework.
