- I'm Slask, your average twitch streamer from sweden.
- There has been some lashing towards me and I wish for this pastebin to clear up the situation, although it might not change how you see me.
- I study music with a major in Music engineering/production.
- When I moved to Nyköping 1 1/2 years ago I bought a computer for $1000 (from my own pocket money) and after 2 months of owning it and streaming from it without problem, it started acting up. When I went to the store I bought it from they said they couldn't help me because my insurance for the computer was invalid. The problem with the computer was that during boot (before loading the OS) the computer froze up and it would take about 10-50 tries to get the computer running, if I was lucky.
- I then talked to some people and they thought it might either be the RAM or the PSU.
- I tried replacing all the ramsticks and the same thing still happened, so I bought a new psu for a bunch of my own money. The computer still acted the same way so I decided that I still can use the computer, it will just be a minor inconvinience.
- During summer break after I moved back home to my parents, I met RDilux, who builds computers for a living and we talked about building a PC that would be able to be used for several years and would be both my streaming and music recording/engineering and PC games, so a mid level gaming pc. I then did a donation stream and from that donation stream I was able to pay for the case, the mb the psu & all the cables. RDilux donated a cooling system and I threw in about $250 myself. During this time I was still streaming from my own computer.
- After summer I started studying in a place outside of Katrineholm called Sköldinge. Somwhere shortly after the start of studying I talked with RDilux again, and we agreed on that we should take the build slower (so it would be done later) and we decided to switch out the case and the mb for more "beast" power. I did however pay for those out of my own pocket.
- In october during a stream, my computer just shut off, and is now unable to start at all. So I managed to talk to a friend and I got to borrow his gaming laptop, which I was able to stream off of. I then proceeded to do a donation stream in which I were to finish my build if I reached $1000 dollars, and I had a lot of incentives at intervalls during that stream, one of which was going to finland to play mm & oot with zas, and from just looking at the stream I can see how this could easily be missunderstod, since I did lable them as goals instead of incentives.
- During that stream I got in about $150 and bought some cooling fans and a sd-card reader. I also got donated a copy of windows 8.1 PRO.
- Then my friend moved away from the school so I didn't have access to a computer, but at a later date I got hold of one of the school computers which I borrowed to do a 24hour stream. During that stream I had some incentives as well but in the midst of it I got a panic attack and had to stop the stream and quit my studies for that term early. I also did not visit twitch.tv for about a month and a half. I'm currently on medication for depression, stress, insomnia and panic attacks.
- On the 14/2-15 I discussed with RDilux that maybe we should build a smaller computer that will be able to stream perfectly and do other minor tasks, and I agreed that that would be a great thing to go for in my current situation. We managed to scout out some cheap parts and I'm also going to ship him my broken computer so he can use parts from it in the smaller build, keep the hdd + ssd for the bigger build, and sell off the rest of the working parts. The smaller build will cost me $270 and in my current situation I can't afford to pay that myself. Im in debt for about $11300.
- On the 16/2-15 I went on twitch to watch IamButPixels, and we talked about my play and he told me that he doesn't want people to donate to him, but he said that he wants me back to streaming and said he could take donations during his 12hour stream and give them to me, which I said that it would be awesome, not forcing him to do it.
- I hope this will clear things up.
