Goal: Max Pokedex (199 owned, 236 seen) Unowndex (26 owned) and Living Dex (199 unique Pokemon in PC Box) then talk to Prof. Oak to finish.

This is to be completed in real-time using a clean Nintendo official Pokemon Gold Gameboy Cartridge. The use of cheats or mods is not allowed. Savestates and backup files may ONLY be used the first time you enter the Indigo Plateau until you leave*****. Pokemon Stadium 2's Gameboy Tower Dodrio Mode OR a Gameboy Emulator using speedups of no more than 3x may be used ONLY after entering the Hall of Fame.

RULES:
1) You can only use one Pokemon per battle.
2) If your Pokemon faints*, is released, reaches level 100, or gains EXP in any way**, that Pokemon species is considered retired and can never lead in a battle*** or use field moves ever again**** (see NOTES below).
3) You must own 146 or more Pokemon in your Pokedex before entering the Hall of Fame. Pokemon level 70 or higher may only battle Pokemon level 40 or higher, may never gain EXP for others (i.e. EXP. Share), and do not retire while in the Indigo Plateau*****.
4) You can never spend more than $100 at once except if you sell a Rare Candy; then, you may buy anything from that shop clerk for the rest of the challenge. You must sell at least 3 Rare Candies during the challenge.
5) Each time you leave a Pokemon at the Daycare Center, 4 non-retired Pokemon must first be released.
6) One game file only, no external means of affecting game, glitchless (using Pokemon Gold/Silver glitchless speedrunning ruleset):

NOTES:
* Fainting includes both in and out of battle. Also, the first rival battle doesn't count as fainting for this challenge.
** Gaining EXP in the middle of a battle is ok, Pokemon species are only considered retired after the battle concludes.
*** Leading in battle is defined as any situation where your Pokemon is active in the battle screen against an opposing Pokemon. So, you can't even encounter a wild Pokemon with a retired Pokemon.
**** Using a field move is defined as selecting a Pokemon's field move in the menu or on-screen prompt.
***** The Map Card can indicate if you're in the Indigo Plateau.

EXAMPLE SITUATION:
- You catch a wild Spearow at Level 16, nickname it Speary, and teach it HM02 Fly.
- You fight and defeat all of Morty's Pokemon with Speary, leveling Speary up to level 18.
- Spearow as a species is now retired because Speary the Spearow gained experience. You may never lead any Spearow in a battle ever again. You may never use a field move with a Spearow ever again. Anything else is fair game.
- You get an Exp. Share and catch a Spinarak which you nickname Spinny. Your party consists of Spinny and Speary. You let Speary hold the Exp. Share.
- You fight and defeat all of Chuck's Pokemon with Spinny. Spinarak as a species is now retired because Spinny gained experience. Thanks to the Exp. Share though, Speary also gained experience and reached level 19.
- After the fight, you give Speary a Rare Candy, leveling Speary up to level 20. At this level, Spearow evolves into a Fearow, which you allow to happen.
- Fearow is a new Pokemon and can lead in battle and use field moves normally.
- You use Speary to FLY to a Pokemon Center.
- You go to a PC Box and release Speary. Fearow as a species is now retired.
