looking at your forum, the first question that comes to mind is 'why would anyone use this over the official forums'
it targets the same niche the official forums has, and doesn't have the benefit of an established community
also keep in mind that the official forums are dead due in part to this Discord server existing(edited)

I wanted to join the forums because I was looking for friends. I thought I could solve that problem by building my own forum.

growing forums at all is bullshit hard and usually not worth effort for number of people you will likely attract
I have not actually owned a forum, but I was growing the /r/freedomplanet subreddit for months
took a lot of scouring the internet for things to post and encouraging people to comment
and even though it gained like 200+ subscribers over the course of several months, it still feels as dead as it was when nobody was posting anything
except now I just don't really want anything to do with it

Back on the forum, there were only 2 of us. it was just me and my friend. all we ever did on there was write our own stories about Sonic the Hedgehog.
The forum was around for over 10 years, and he and I were the only one's that were ever on it.
But as time went by, I wanted to make more friends.
so I told him that if things are just gonna remain the way that they are, then i'm not gonna stay on the forum anymore.
it was fun making stories, but now...it's just not the same anymore. there are some things in life that are more important than others.
