  1. Mitralheim
  2.
  3. Land of Lava and Tundra. Cold and Hot. Molten mithral floes cutting across plains of frozen iron. Three factions exist here: The Metallic Dragons, lead by Bahamut. The Adamantite Maidens, lead by Dirkensson. The Judas Clerics, lead by Hellforge. The Maidens and the Clerics fight an endless battle across Mitralheim, a never ending war of metal.
  4.
  5. Dragonborn
  6.
  7. The natives of Mitralheim, the Dragonborn are a hale, hardy race descended from the Metallic dragons. Masters of metal, the Dragonborn are as diverse as the insane terrain of the land they hail from. Most settlements exist far away from the front lines of the endless war, although many choose to fight on one side or the other as they wish.
  8.
  9. Metallic Dragons
  10.
  11. The true fathers of the first metal, the Metallic Dragons rule Mitralheim, watching the endless battles with amusement and pride. Bahamut, father of the metallic dragons, draws followers the world over, as his teachings of the virtues of metal has a universal reach. While rather magnanimous, the Metallic Dragons are not to be trifled with in any circumstance.

  13. Bassline
  14.
  15. The Free Kingdoms, the land of Rock and Soul. The birthplace of modern music, it is a melting pot of culture and song. It is where adventurers of all kinds are born and revered, and where countless bands have formed to better the world. It split from Bossa Nova during the great war with Tidas Nouvou, which split the continents asunder.

  19. The Capital of Bassline
  20.
  21. Tidas Nouvou
  22.
  23. An aristocratic state which split from the same continent Bassline had been a part of, Tidas Nouvou is a place of the rich, the poor, and nothing inbetween. Oppressive and top-heavy, the government ruthlessly dictates the lives of its people, and only one form of music may fill its streets. Of all races, the tieflings best make this place home along with the aristocratic humans. Placing themselves throughout the government, tieflings here have friends in high places. Some have not yet forgotten the wrongs done to them by the other races.
  24.
  25. Orchapeligo
  26.
  27. A mysterious continent made up of a mass of islands, Orchapeligo is the home of the elves, a strange race which have lived far before the invention of rock. Wielding exotic instruments made of dark woods and shiny brass, they are masters of instrumental music. The Elven Orchestras of Orchapeligo are known far and wide for their mass numbers and sheer organized power. Lead by charismatic "conductors", they are without equal when directed towards a common goal. The musical styles of the Elves are characterized by their nature, wide and diverse, aloof yet universally knowledgeable. An elf child usually chooses the instrument they will play for the rest of their long lived lives within their first 50 years. Ranging from the mysterious wood flutes, to the massive brass horns, to the complex hardwood strings instruments, the Elves have mastered their art to the fullest, and the haunting melodies they play touch the souls of even the most hardened rocker.

  29. Twin Apex
  30.
  31. Two massive, crystalline mountains to the south of Bassline, the Twin Apex are the homeplace of the Kalashtar, and the nexus of electronica for the world. An eternal vanguard stand guard here, to protect the nexus from the dark forces of DJ Tiablo and the Roaming Rave.
  32.
  33. The Kalashtar
  34.
  35. Descended from a mixing of the Quori, a race of extraplanar DJs, and humans, the Kalashtar are the representatives of Electronica on the material plane. A music without instruments, Electronica operates in ways that most humans cannot comprehend, although some with the inherent gifts can tap into this potent source of musical power. The Kalashtar make residence mostly within Twin Apex, but some wander outside into the world at large. All Kalashtar, by nature of birth, are enemies of the Roaming Rave.
  36.
  37. The Roaming Rave
  38.
  39. Enemies of the Quori, the Roaming Rave is a race of dark DJs who use humans, willing or unwilling, as vessels to enact their wills upon the material plane. Using their hypnotic brand of music, they bend the wills of others, until they only accept the beat of one style, and one style alone. Their goal is complete and utter domination of the world, and the elimination of the Quori. Lead by the mysterious and domineering DJ Tieblo, they will stop at nothing to meet their goals.
  40.
  41. Morrisands
  42.
  43. The black sands of the north, the Morrisands are where the Emomancers practice their dark and sorrowful art. The suffering dead pace the sands endlessly, making these deserts inhospitable to all.
  44.
  45. The Bhalai Woods
  46.
  47. A massive stretch of exotic forests, tropical and lush in nature. The people of the Bhalai Woods are much like their surroundings, colorful and passionate. Much of the time, whole towns can be caught up in synchronized singing and dancing. In fact, it's a well known truth that the people of Bhalai are born with the innate knowledge of dance and song, making them some of the greatest non-instrumental performers the world over. The troupes of Bhalai are comparable to the Elven Orchestras in power and force, the most legendary of which is lead by the mysterious Bhenni La'vha.
  48.
  49. The Genasi(+2 Wis, +2 Dex)
  50.
  51. The people of Bhalai are known as the Genasi, a race of elemental humanoids. No one knows how long the Genasi have been around, but no one has known a Bhalai without them. Any one Genasi may embody the nature of any element, and some even switch as the mood suits them. When a dance begins in the streets, it often brings out the fire in most Genasi, though some prefer the light steps of air, or the fluid motions of water.
  52.
  53. The Foo Monastery
  54.
  55. A mysterious group of martial warriors who make their home in Bassline. Following an ancient religion based around the teachings of Ker Coba, who some say ascended to nirvana in the early days of Bossa Nova.
  56.
  57. History of Bossa Nova
  58.
  59. In the early days of Rock, a massive landmass existed known as Bossa Nova. In days long before humanity's rise, the Dwarves carved from the mountains and earth the first instruments of rock. Eventually retreating into the mountains where they now live, humans took their place, and named their kingdom Bossa Nova after uniting the bands and tribes of the continent. Rock grew and changed, but once the legacy of the Kings of Rock and Soul had ended with a premature death, the bloodline was lost. A new leadership came to power in questionable circumstances, and with it came the New Wave movement. An oppressive, top-heavy government, it was opposed by the revolutionaries known as the Clash. The heroes Patricia, Rottin, and Ramone lead a movement which soon turned into a civil war. Bands warred across the nation in a battle which could be heard across the world. Then, one day, Bossa Nova split in a massive cataclysm. No one is sure what caused it, but when the dust cleared, two new continents had come into existence. The loyalists of the north declared their piece to be Tidas Nouvou, and the revolutionaries of the south christened what would become Bassline.
  60.
  61. Dwarves
  62.
  63. Forming the first rock from the earth, and with the magic of bound Death Metal demons, the Dwarves ruled the continent of Bossa Nova for thousands of years. Crafting the first instruments of rock, and the first stages to rock from, they eventually retreated into the mountains of the south once they saw that the future of rock lay with humanity.
  64.
  65. Sun Cycle
  66.
  67. The day/night cycle is different than what is expected of a 7 day week. On Mondays and Fridays, there are 24 hour periods of day, between which are 48 hours of night for saturday and sunday. The rest of the week follows a typical day/night cycle. This leads to a phenomenon known as "Weekend Vampires", socially accepted undead who spend their time on the weekends to openly walk about and do their business.
  68.
  69. Rolling Stone
  70.
  71. The massive city dug into the huge mountain ranges of Bassline's southern regions, Rolling Stone is the birthplace of rock. The ancient dwarves go about their lives, mining heavy metals deep into the earth, stoking the flames deep into the volcanic core. Some say that deep below the earth, pits of death metal demons still reside from the original crafting of rock and roll.
  72.
  73.
  74. Muddy Waters
  75.
  76. The first known human settlement, Muddy Waters was where all the humans of old Bossa Nova came from. Now, it still exists as a laid back, swampish settlement, where an early predecessor of rock still wafts lazily through the air. The populace is a simply, friendly folk, although still rather hardened by the dangers inherent in the murky marshlands, flavoring the soulful sounds of their blues. Filled with monsters of all sorts, Muddy Waters was truly humanity's first gauntlet. If you make it past the dangers, however, the community within will greet you with open arms. These days, the Bullywugs make their home along side the humans as well. Known for their "Wogwater", a potent and delicious local spirit, the Bullywugs have become a permanent fixture of the area.
  77.
  78. Tieflings
  79.
  80. In the early days of Bossa Nova, there was another race which occupied the lands. Tieflings were enemies of the Dwarves, but lacked the musical and technological prowess to compete with them. Magically, however, they had an edge. Using their arcane skills, they attempted to use the Death Metal demons bound by the dwarves to overthrow them. When all seemed to be going in their direction, an unlikely alliance of the Elves, Dwarves, and Bhalai came to put an end to their plans of domination. Against the power of the Elven Orchestras, the Bhalai Troupes, and the pure rock of the Dwarves, they fell from grace. The Death Metal demons cursed them in their last moments, changing their appearances to something fel and fearsome. To this day, they retain this demonic visage, and are looked upon with prejudice.
