  1. Wasn't going to say anything about this, but I see a lot of friends saying stuff without knowing the full situation.

  3. First off, that tweet by Jay is basically used out of context. It's very poorly worded, can't argue that, but that wasn't the intent behind the tweet. I blame character limits really, but regardless, it's out of context.

  5. Baffan is going about this completely wrong. Putting someone on blast on Twitter with a witch hunt is NOT how you go about doing this. He didn't talk to anybody about it before this, and his excuse that "I didn't want to put up with it anymore" is horseshit. That is NOT how to be a constructive member of a community, especially if you have a significantly larger twitter following than the person you're witch hunting. Jay was not alone in that process, no matter how much Baffan is pretending he is. Later tweeting that it was to "expose" Jay is even more wrong. Congrats, your twitter army was harassing Jay while he was in class and unable to do anything about it. And what is he supposed to be able to do about it anyway? It's such a one sided way to present the argument, and the intent is literally to discredit Jay.

  7. Want to put out there, Jay is an awesome dude. Go talk to him sometime. Seriously, he's awesome.

  9. On the "Time isn't good enough for a leaderboard", I can see both arguments. Yes, you could argue that requiring some work to be put into a game before submitting is a deterrent to new runners... but why would you submit a "playaround" run? Maybe that's just me, but I'd never submit a run that I hadn't put some kind of work into or learned. And people asking "well, why does it matter, it doesn't hurt anything"... Like, it kinda does make a difference. Usually, if I'm looking at a leaderboard, I look at top 3, and then I'll peek at the bottom. If you wanted to draw attention to a community member that had put in work a long time ago or something, then having a blind run sit at the bottom is kinda unfair to them. Again, I don't fully know the situation, but having a time on the leaderboards is not necessarily "harmless". If this leads to a productive conversation about what a leaderboard's intent is, then fine, at least something positive will have come of it. I usually run my boards a bit more free, but judging another communities decision without full knowledge of the situation is something that needs to stop in the community. Every game and situation is different, treat it as such.

  11. TLDR: I probably am in the camp of letting times on the leaderboards, but not going to disagree if a different community wants to run theirs differently. However, attacking someone's character on Twitter is NOT okay, and should be discouraged at every opportunity.
