- HOW SHIT GOES DOWN IN THE CITY
- It's a big old metropolitan port city, and it is known far and wide as home of the World Gladiatorial Games, a collection of stables of gladiators who own four arenas across the city, have a collected roster of over a hundred fighters, and make more gold than they could feasibly spend.
- Long ago, how it often worked was you got enslaved and made into a gladiator. Since the Games have become so popular, and the best gladiators have become celebrities, making substantial amounts of gold themselves, nowadays it is much more common that you audition to become a gladiator, and if you're damn lucky if you get someone to boss your ass around.
- SO THIS GLADIATOR THING SOUNDS COOL
- Damn right it does. As a gladiator, you can aspire to one day bathing in gold and bitches. But right now that's not happening, because you're still in the minnows. You're lucky if you make the Sunday match list at the smallest arena in the city. But once you get some wins and some fans, maybe you'll catch the attention of someone influential and important.
- HOW DO I GLADIATE?
- Excellent question. Winning the battle is only half the battle. If you want crowds cheering your name, you gotta do it with style. Every great gladiator's got a gimmick. Maybe he has a cool fighting style or a lovable personality. Maybe he's the hero, or maybe he's the villain. WGG is as much about your character as it is the strength of your fighting style, and a unique image will make all the difference to getting into the big leagues.
- OKAY SHUT UP SO I CAN MAKE MY CHARACTER
- Okay but first a few things, right;
- Level 1, bro, that's how we rollin'
- If your first tactic is to go for a kill, you will not be very popular with either the crowd or the owner of the gladiator you just killed. Your future in the WGG is not assured.
- It is acceptable to have your gladiator persona be either a show for the crowd or just how you are. Play it how you like it. If it's the former, for simplicity's sake, note both your stage alignment and your actual alignment on the sheet.
- Your character obviously has to be either the type of person who seeks fame and glory in the ring or the type of person who gets enslaved and forced into gladiatorial competition.
- OKAY IS THAT IT?
- Yes.
- OKAY
