  1. KHFM FAQ
  2.
  3. Q: Why are you playing the Japanese version?/Why are there English voices and Japanese text?
  4. A: This is Kingdom Hearts Final Mix for the PS2, not KH 1.5. The original KHFM was only released to Japan, hence the Japanese text, and they also thought the English voices were better than the Japanese ones, hence the English voice acting.
  5.
  6. Q: Why aren't you playing KH 1.5? It has cutscene skips.
  7. A: 3 reasons for this.
  8. 1. I don't have a PS3.
  9. 2. KH 1.5 Proud uses EXP Zero strats to insta-kill bosses, which I think sucks the fun out of the run, so that's why I like the original better.
  10. 3. I want to compare my time to ahirun255's time, and I can't do that if I play on 1.5.
  11.
  12. Q: Which weapons do you pick and give up?
  13. A: I pick the Staff and give up the Shield. Picking Staff gives me +1 MP, early Hurricane Period, 2 Air Combo Pluses, MP Haste, MP Rage, and Leaf Bracer. Basically, this makes my early game slower, but my late game much faster. I give up the Shield because giving up the Sword kills my strength and would make fights insanely slow.
  14.
  15. Q: Why do you choose Dusk? Why not Dawn?
  16. A: For those who don't know, choosing Dawn means I level up quicker at the beginning, but when you hit around level 35 or so, you level up slower. Dusk is the exact reverse of this, leveling up slower at the beginning, and quicker toward the end. I do this because the enemies that I fight toward the end of the game have higher EXP than the ones at the beginning of the game, meaning I actually end up higher leveled with Dusk than I do with Dawn. This gives me access to MP Rage and Leaf Bracer quicker than normal. I lose some time toward the beginning of the game, but it ensures a much safer endgame.
  17.
  18. Q: Can you read Japanese?
  19. A: Yes and no. I'm learning Japanese right now in College, so I'm able to read Hiragana, Katakana, and minimal Kanji, but I can't understand all of it. I mostly just memorize which abilities are which and play the game that way.
  20.
  21. Q: What are the numbers next to the splits?
  22. A: The numbers in parenthesis are how many deaths my PB had at that point in the run. So if you see it go up from 2 to 3, that means I died somewhere in that split. This helps people understand where I died and where I can possibly save more time on my PB.
