SHR Secret Project Log #4: "Project Nightfire"

It has come to our knowledge that our leader, Brendan E. Striker, has come with an unexpected "guest" to his body. A sort of, "servant," has now been occupied within his Soul. It appears to be a servant that came from the very first Chaoslord Generation. In retrospect... We believe it is one of the servants of Lord Thanatos. Back during the 1st Generation, Thanatos had 4 faithful servants to his rule. All of them went by certain apparition names...

And finally.. The servant that beseeches our leader... the Chaosbeast.

The Chaosbeast was #4 of the syndicate. But also known as the strongest. The scriptures say that Horus was the strongest of the group, but they did this to mask the beast's actual futility. Out of all the servants, the Chaosbeast wasn't much of an apparition, but of an actual living being. We believe his body and soul was cursed and was resulted into this... Monstrosity of a Shadow. He's also the only servant to have a full, actual name; Zephyrion Nightfire. Having also a natural body that shares the beast form due to the so called "curse." This curse is still unknown to our knowledge, as our scientists are still working on translating the ancient tomes we found from the Chaoslord's tomb. But to this day... The main reason of why Zephyrion is still alive, is due to the overthrowing of Thanatos. People thought Thanatos was the only one to survive due to his sealing. But what they didn't know, is that Zephyrion survived the onslaught. After the fortress was left behind, Zephyrion was still alive after the battle with the Knights of Xeraf (Heroes under the Universia Council to end Thanatos' reign). In a last minute attempt to save himself, Phoenix gave the last of her power to release his Soul from the body, and roam time and space. No one ever knew he lived through it for years.

After his escape, Zephyrion's luck wasn't the brightest. He was slowly losing life force each day without having a body to manage. Out of ideas, he found a Shadow Ravager's Nest in a desolate area. The feeling of desperate overtook him, and he ventured into the nest.. only to find his last resort: the corpse of a Ravager. Without any choice, he took his new form immediately. It was this, or be fed to soul thirsty creatures. He was to live this life in solitude for years. Well, that's until a certain weekend morning...

The nest he resided in was unexpectedly attacked by a hired clan. Much of the Ravagers were slaughtered, but he and very few weren't killed. Instead, they were taken into testing chambers. The testing went for weeks without end, Zephyrion almost tried to break out, but failed. In response to his behavior, he was locked into a capsule and was crystallized. His own presence was forgotten for years. ...Till Thanatos' unsealing happened. The laboratory Zephyrion was sealed in was abandoned and locked for 500 years. When Thanatos was unsealed, it released a giant shockwave that would only affect beings of Shadow energy and anything around them. The power made its way to Zephyrion's capsule, and unsealed him. Zephyrion woke up in a confused state, but not himself. His own conscious was null, and just acted like a normal Ravager. Having to figure out how to escape the lab, he only forced his way out, and took into hiding. Everything led to the one day where Thanatos was going to unleash one of his servants from a deep slumber. It was then Zephyrion and hundreds of Ravagers fell to the designated location, and met our team and the Chaoslord. It was then when Zephyrion was severely damaged by his own ruler, and with the last of his strength, transferred his soul into our leader. Everything spoke for itself when the transformation happened that very day...

Tests were given to Brendan due to this unusual circumstance. After 2 days of testing the Soul, it appears that due to the cryostasis and actions Zephyrion has undergone as a Ravager, has formed unto Brendan. In order for Brendan to keep check to the Soul, he has to feast on Souls himself with his Chaosunion's Soul Tear. It's known as "Soulthrist" for a reason... but with this brings a new responsibility to our leader. Zephyrion is uncontrollable at this point, and any undone soul replenishing will allow the beast to roam free and cause unnecessary bloodshed. We label this as "Project Nightfire."

Further testing was done and we have found something odd to our eyes. It appears that Zephyrion's Soul is causing abrupt merging to Brendan's soul. As if it were feasting on it to revitalize it from the old... If what we see is true, then Zephyrion is trying to recollect himself to become more... "sane." We cannot say a thing to our leader until there's a time to do so. For now, we only have to hope and observe. There has been some instances where the beast was released from the Seal it was given, but the results weren't big. It seems that the Chaosbeast can still be tamed by various actions. But this can only last for so long. The longer the Soul develops back to its own form, the harder it will take to quell this monster. It even clashes Brendan's personal Shadow that allows him to do Chaosunion: Drake Yami. We don't know if Drake has the power to control him during this stasis. We believe he does at his own best. We can hope this will lengthen the process.

We have some conclusion to this. After seeing more signs of development to Zephyrion's Soul, we conclude that he's in his primal state exactly. Which means he can have control over our leader at any time. Even within deep preservation, as he hears /everything/ Brendan hears and sees. We've also found out another instance to this. It appears the Soul is connected to the heart of Shadow Subspace somehow, not just Brendan's own Soul. We believe if Subspace's heart is destroyed, so will Zephyrion. We don't know if this is 100% however. We need more time. But if we take too long, it might be too late for him... We won't give in to this horror. As long as we draw breath, we won't let our leader succumb to this thing... We can only hope...

Our last test comes down to this. Zephyrion's soul will take on the toll Brendan has on himself since Day 1. Zephyrion isn't stupid, even if someone was trying to kill our leader. He knows fully well of the consequences Brendan has over his head. And if both want to live and amend, they have no choice but to work with one another. Even if two Shadows mend one body alike, there has to be a good ending to this... And it better arrive before 2016. Or else... We all lose...
