- Children of Dragons
- Michael's POV
- "Michael, I have a mission for you", Quetzal demands. The bright red Dragon God appears in the sky above me.
- "I want you to go to a place called Amberground and find the Dragon God who dwells there. It's name is Maka", Quetzal requests.
- "What am I to do when I find Maka?", I ask.
- "Befriend Maka's children. Just as you are my child, Maka has twin daughters. Befriend them and protect them", Quetzal explains. I don't know what Quetzal wants me to protect these Maka girls from, but I set off for Amberground at once.
- Lag's POV
- Niche and I are just finishing up delivering a bunch of letters. A young man in a red outfit rushes past us. He seems to be in a hurry so we decide not to bother him. Niche and I return to Yuusari. Largo Lloyd and Aria Link, the man and woman who run the Beehive, are arguing with a man I've never seen before. The man turns around as we approach them.
- "So this is the Child of Maka I've heard so much about", the man remarks, "I'd like to play a little game with you, girlie". The Man pulls out what I recognize to be a deck of Duel Monsters cards. Niche and I sometimes play Duel Monsters in our spare time.
- "Bring it!", Niche yells. She shapes her hair into a Duel Disk. The man straps his Duel Disk on and the duel begins.
- Niche's POV
- "I'm going first", I insist, "I activate the Field Spell card Divine Dragon's cave". A cave appears around the two duelists.
- "I summon Swordswoman of Maka in attack mode", I yell. A dragon-like golden monster appears in front of me.
- "I place one card face-down and end my turn", I finish.
- "My turn", the man yells as he draws a card.
- "I activate Cost Down. This spell card lower's the levels of monsters in my hand by 2. Next, I activate Fiend's Sanctuary. this card summons a Token monster, which I then sacrifice to summon Buster Blader", the man explains. A monster in purple and yellow armor appears on his field.
- "Buster Blader gains 500 ATK because you have a dragon on your field. I attack with Buster Blader", the man continuous
- "I play my trap Maka's Mirror Force", I counter,"It destroys your monster and adds that destroyed monster's original attack points to my life points". Buster Blader explodes and my life points rise to 10,600.
- "I end my turn", the man finishes.
- "My turn", I yell, "I summon "Kid HERO Dragonian Girl" in attack mode". A monster resembling myself appears on the field.
- "My field spell let's me summon another monster, so I summon Divine Dragon's Child in attack mode", I add. Another monster resembling myself appears on the field.
- "Next I activate Polymerization and fuse my two monsters together to form Divine Dragon Maka", I continue. My two monsters merge into a huge golden dragon.
- Next, Swordswoman's effect makes its attack points, and Divine Dragon Maka's attack points, equal to the combined total of the two. Both of my monsters now have 5700 atk. I attack with both of them", I finish. the attacks drop the man's life points down to 0. The man takes off running, and i notice that Dr. Thunderland jr., the Beehive's doctor, was watching the duel.
- "I wasn't gonna miss a chance to see the child of Maka dueling", he insists. Then, I see the young man in the red outfit who ran by us earlier. He's walking towards us.
- Michael's POV
- I reached the town of Yuusari and overhead someone talking about the child of Maka. The voice was coming from near a big cathedral which I learned is the headquarters of Amberground's postal service. The boy in the blue uniform that I ran past earlier is standing outside the cathedral. The golden-haired girl that was with him is facing a man in a Duel Monsters duel. As i watch, she defeats him in one turn. The boy must be a Letter Bee, one of the postal workers. The girl must be his Dingo, what they call a Letter Bee's partner. From what I've heard, Amberground is full of giant insect monsters and its a Dingo's job to protect their Letter Bee from them.
