The rich scents of freshly baked delights swirl around your nose as you approach the counter, and there are so many to choose from that you don't think you could pick only one. Part of you wants them all, even, and though you know that isn't possible, it doesn't stop your eyes from wandering across the shelves and imagining the treats falling apart in your mouth. There's sugar, of course, and while you can't get enough of that, when your gaze lands on those brownies you can all but taste the chocolate on your tongue. Those cookies grab your attention, too, and past those comes the doughnuts and the cake--

The rustle of fabric and the [ (random pick one) {heavy footsteps|click of heels|clatter of hooves}] at your back tells you that the line is piling up behind you, and though [if (low corruption) {that only makes you more flustered|you don't really care}], you still can't decide which treat to buy.

Even the baker lumbers to the counter and glances [if (taller) {up|[if (shorter) {down|over}]}] at you, and despite his bestial appearance, it takes all your manners not to giggle at the fluffy hat perched between his horns. [say: What'll it be, [boy]?]

One meaty finger points down at the cookie display, and while that doesn't make your decision any easier, you know you have to buy something. You pull out your [inv] in an attempt to stall for a few more moments, but the [if (0 gems) {complete lack of anything|[if (1 gem) {solitary gem rolling around|sparse, sad clinks coming from}]}] inside makes your stomach drop almost as fast as your spirits.

The commotion even draws Rubi over, but you catch the momentarily smile that curls at [rubi eir] lips once [rubi ey] realizes the person holding up the line is you.

With how pleasant it is, it's almost a shame when [rubi ey] finally stops to slip}] a handful of gems into your palm. [say: Get yourself something nice, okay?]
