Greetings Elvandar,

 After reviewing our commodities I feel that a system to encourage donations should be put in place. It is not possible for one individual to stock our commodities alone and it is unfair to expect the community to do so with no reward. To that end I am borrowing from the successful program in place in the city of Krondor. We will be working with a system of points that are awarded to those who donate commodities to the Trade ministry for stocking the shop. Commodity points will be put towards city favors, after so many points are gained you qualify for a favor and after the favor is given, your points will revert to zero.

This will hopefully encourage donations to the commodities shop, allowing the prices in our shop to drop lower than those in the villages while still bringing in revenue for the city that will allow us to supplement the commodities our community uses the most. This will also allow for projects to be put in place where the city can offer items that we consider basic needs at a lower than standard price.

To donate commodities please contact me directly so that we can ensure you are given credit for everything you donate. You can still sell your commodities directly to the city shop if you do not want a favor, but that will not be cost effective for you.

Please remember you must hand your commodities directly to me to gain points. If you sell them to the shop I can't see who has made the donation, and can't record the points you would have received.

In the course of helping our home, please -DO NOT- buy village shops to zero stock. When any commodity is taken to zero stock, the price is increased drastically when it is restocked. If the reason is unclear, speak to me personally.

 In the interest of helping Elvandar reduce it's reliance on steel, which is becoming increasingly difficult to acquire, the Ministry of Trade is holding a design contest.

What we are looking for in the designs are alternatives to steel in weapons and armor. Do you have a wonderful idea for a war-hammer that includes intricate designs done in some other metal? Perhaps you have a sword that is made of an alloy?
If you have any design ideas along these lines, please forward them in full to me on a letter.

The winner of the design contest will receive ten credits.
The design that takes second place will earn five gold for the designer.
The third place winner will earn three gold.

As an incentive to get designs rolling in, every credible design will gain the submitter one credit.
Please, no joke designs. We want to reduce our need for steel in the city, but a weapon made of silk isn't going to do much good for the person wielding it.
