Dear readers, I imagine you must be familiar with the weapon known as
a flamethrower. You’ve probably seen them in newsreels at the cinema, in
American movies, and so on. Soldiers use it when they suspect the enemy is
hidden away in a building or some such place. The soldier aims what looks
like a rifle, and a great stream of fire shoots out from the mouth,
incinerating everything for fifteen or sixteen meters!! That’s the terrifying
weapon I mean.
The white-hot column of fire shooting out of Godzilla’s mouth was
hundreds of times stronger than any flamethrower. It shot out of his mouth
—Whoosh!—piercing the night sky like a searchlight.
