- Aero:
- -Outspeeds adamant scarf lando, modest scarf lele
- -can run taunt over tailwind to help vs Trick Room, but tailwind is very helpful vs. things like lelegross, rain, icy wind spam
- -Has pressure instead of unnerve to speed compare opposing mons for scarf. Wont tell you jolly vs adamant, but you will be able to tell if xurk can safely hp ice and ko lando or not. (it will outspeed adamant lando, and has a very low roll to be ohko'd by jolly. switching aero to incin will guarantee the kill)
- Xurk:
- -Outspeeds adamant scarf lando after adrenaline orb. Underspeeds jolly scarf, but jolly EQ only has 12.5% chance to ohko.
- -Guaranteed lives metagross stomping tantrum
- -takes incin flare blitz easily
- -+3 tbolt + sky drop will usually not ko trick room setters like cress, goth, p2. Plan accordingly, and bring amoonguss for the
- after you plays in trick room.
- 252 Atk Landorus-T Earthquake vs. 116 HP / 164 Def Xurkitree: 150-176 (86.7 - 101.7%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO
- 252 Atk Tough Claws Mega Metagross Stomping Tantrum vs. 116 HP / 164 Def Xurkitree: 130-154 (75.1 - 89%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
- 252+ Atk Incineroar Flare Blitz vs. 116 HP / 164 Def Xurkitree: 111-132 (64.1 - 76.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
- Amoonguss:
- -lives metagross zen headbutt out of psychic terrain
- -lives 252 atk adamant incin flare blitz 15/16 times
- -After You to allow xurk to attack first in trick room
- -Clear smog can be changed to energy ball or sludge bomb, or even sunny day. Depends on playstyle and what matchups you have more trouble with. I like clear smog for lax and kommo-o
- Incineroar:
- -pretty overly bulky. flare blitz is only a 6.3% ohko on 0 bulk metagross, but i think that chip is pretty easy to get with aero.
- -very important for sand matchups
- -pretty standard mon otherwise. I like AV because it allows incin to switch into basically anything safely
- Tapu fini:
- -waterium will ko AV incin and AV lando.
- -Calm mind is very helpful in the rain matchup, but can be switched for haze, taunt, or icy wind. May want to modify EVs to be more offensive without calm mind.
- Celesteela:
- -acrobatics kills ludicolo, good vs mega venusaur and amoonguss.
- -Lives helping hand z-hydro pump from ludi after seed boost
- -Almost essential for rain matchup. Its either fini celesteela or fini amoonguss, based on the rain mons.
- Lelegross:
- aero + incin OR fini + celesteela
- xurk + 1 OR Incin + 1 in back, depending on your lead
- Rain:
- Fini + amoonguss/Celesteela
- xurk + aero in back
- Trick room:
- aero + xurk
- amoonguss + incin in back
- Most common lead:
- Aero + xurk
- amoonguss + incin in back
- --Wins like 80% of matchups. Just need to establish what the threat is, and how to most effectively remove the threat to allow xurk to set up. 2 mons faster than xurk is scary, probably switch xurk into incineroar right away if the opponent leads 2 mons that are faster and threaten a xurk 2hko.
- --Important note: totem araquanid cannot be sky dropped. rock slide + tbolt will kill it unless its super specially bulky, or AV or some nonsense.
