- [12:26] Kofe says, "I've had this gun for the past eight years or so."
- [12:27] Kofe says, "Edelaide made it for me, in fact."
- [12:27] Jack Kelsey asks, "Edelaide got in trouble, right?"
- [12:28] Kofe says, "She always gets in trouble."
- [12:28] Osiris says, "Accurate."
- [12:30] Basil says, "--She's dead."
- [12:30] Kofe says, "..."
- [12:30] Osiris asks, "?"
- [12:30] Osiris asks, "She's what?"
- [12:31] Osiris asks, "How?"
- [12:35] A single glance is given towards Osiris when he asks of that, if only to remark.
- "She kept egging on Sythaeryn infront of everyone to fight her. Even as she was collared and wounded, she kept provoking him to slay her on spot."
- "She had opportunities to escape as well, but she would not." There's but a shrug given to that.
- "I think she actually lost her mind... she started spitting venom on me as well when I visited her and began to broker deal to free her. She kept attacking Flotsam inside Myllenoris, until she'd get caught."
- "And even though we were going to get her out, she decided to basically suicide by provoking Sythaeryn over and over again."
- (Basil)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [12:40] Osiris blinked a few times. He quite honestly seems rather... perplexed. Mainly because he has no idea as to why Edelaide would want to kill herself in such a strange manner that made absolutely no sense. Well, killing herself in general made no sense at all.
- He'd glance towards Kofe for a moment, mainly because most people knew how close they used to be.
- But, he looks to Basil soon after. "What about Sirius? What did he do, or say, about... that?"
- (Osiris)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [12:43] It came as a shock to Kofe to hear that Edelaide was dead. The girl that he'd known for almost a decaded now- gone. The way she went out was as crazy as unreasonable as she always had been in her darkest moments, yet, he couldn't help but think that things could've been different. The same was as his sister had succumbed to insanity; Edelaide may have been falling for years, upon years, upon years. Even back on the beach that night she...
- ... she wanted to die, didn't she?
- Why else would she provoke him in such a way?
- Perhaps it's to protect him, to keep him safe that she stopped him from taking her life, that she used her words as sweet as honey to charm him away from this horrible fate.
- Fuck.
- The young man gazed off towards the vast emptiness away from people, clearly stuck in thoughts. To think she had died. To think she'd lose herself to the point where she would insist upon her own demise. An infernal, nightmarish dance to be sure.
- A deep breath was drawn by the young man, and released thereafter. What was he supposed to even say? She'd been the first girl he fell for, after all. Even if he had to pry himself away from her like she'd been some nasty infection that grabbed at every part of his being, he still... enjoyed her presence.
- Even with a decaying mind, he could see the person beyond that wounded heart.
- Kofe could do naught but think of his talk with Romani at that time; about the effect of magic on people and what was perceived as good or bad. His hope for some form of controlling that... insanity that the world seemed to attach to the darker arts was something that needed to be thought of.
- To be brought to life.
- A few words were spoken, at last.
- "I hope her last dance was worth it."
- (Kofe)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [12:51] "I don't know what Sirius did about that, Osiris, if anything at all."
- "Truthfully, I don't think he was actually talking to her in the last years of her life, because.. he just disappeared somewhere it seems. He didn't care to check on her anymore."
- Maybe their feelings to one another died out, or maybe he just could not cope with seeing her destroy her own sanity and life in such manner; although, when he glances to Kofe, he could understand of the pain hidden behind that.
- He knows what another Rhoynish was thinking of.
- "I hope so too."
- "Although.. I still don't understand at times. She had all the opportunity to just... go. She didn't have to get captured, she got herself into it by testing fate a dozen of times."
- "And even then.. after provoking Sythaeryn, she still could live. All she had to do was just to wait for our arrival. Just wait until we sort it out."
- "But she chose this. She knew what she's doing, and she walked right into it."
- Perhaps he speaks of this to not let Kofe do something silly for someone who wanted to die - because even though she technically died by the hand of another.. with circumstances in place? You might as well say that she suicided.
- "I hope she's resting in peace."
- (Basil)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [12:57] "I hope she's still fighting out there."
- His reply was one that went against that notion of peace that Basil infered. There was something beautiful that came from the mind of one who sought the endless war in their death; to think one would rest in peace was peculiar. On one end she may be calm and composed in the spirit realm but... that was never Edelaide, was it? From the eagerness to pull his hand and drag him on a 'walk' that'd take them in all sorts of trouble to fighting over and over even when she lost.
- Edelaide wasn't the type to merely lean back and sit still. She barely even slept back when she was doing good. Something must've... ticked back there. Something that weighted on her mind must've sent her against Sythaeryn over and over and over again.
- Until she died. In battle. Of her own choice.
- In a way, she had been freed. Perhaps in a much more knowing manner than Tea's own demise had come.
- She had to know, right?
- "I... know how she gets. How she couldn't wait sometimes."
- But to drive her to her own death meant that she was tired of living through that nightmare that plagued her everyday. That she grew ill of it all, of the darkness consuming her life in each and every way. A spoken thought was brought out, though he believed no answer would follow.
- "Do you think Sirius knew?"
- She never intended to show Kofe that side of her, after all. With years... she'd gotten better at lying, hadn't she? Had she left behind a man confused by her action or one sad he couldn't help her?
- (Kofe)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [13:04] Truthfully, he always knew that Edelaide would meet an end such as this.
- That she would find herself lost in the endless sea of battles that, in the end, actually held neither meaning nor depth.. that were just there for some sort of potential 'release' that she craved for. In his eyes? That was childish.
- It's almost like she was the same way Basil was when he was only thirteen years old.
- And that's what caused her downfall. She never grew up... she never understood how such things work, and how to take the battles you could actually win - instead of charging head on against the things that would inevitably kill you.
- She just never learned.
- "It's good that you know."
- That he could understand. Though.. when spoken about Sirius? He merely shrugs.
- "I didn't know him that well."
- "I can only assume that he was somewhat aware, but perhaps he didn't know about her captivity. Though.." There's a pause, a frown.
- "... I dislike how Osronan church is trying to use her death as a means of propaganda."
- "She died to her own insanity, yet they speak of some spirit sacrifices - even as they were going to release her. I dislike that they use her death as a tool, when a broken mind caused her death."
- "It's petty. Cheap. Vile."
- (Basil)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [13:05] Mars says, "I believe, Basil.."
- [13:05] Mars says, "It's best to search for the truth."
- [13:05] Mars says, "I'll speak to Del about it, yes? "
- [13:05] Osiris asks, "They're doing that?"
- [13:05] Osiris asks, "Who said that, specifically?"
- [13:09] Mars says, "It was announced in the state of Esshar. That they were planning to sacrifice Edelaide in a ritual of some sort."
- [13:10] Osiris says, "Hm..."
- [13:10] To use Edelaide's death as propaganda fit right with the same agenda Romani had been trying to push, hadn't it? To eliminate everything that wasn't right according to the church, everything that was... tainted, dark, or against their belief. Rather than use reason and believe that people were more than good or evil due to the magic they used or the place they hailed from.
- Disgusting.
- "The Stellus wasn't receptive to the idea that people needed to be understood before determining if they're good or evil. It's..."
- Kofe's teeth came to a grit. It was the same reason that Edelaide would've gotten executed in Osrona had she been picking a fight with people here. One's tainted mental state needed to be considered. To claim that help could be provided by erasing that 'bad' they saw was... horrible.
- It reminded him of the way his people were treated.
- "Things have to change."
- (Kofe)
