- As the trio reached the top of the steps, they found themselves directly underneath the red torii gate to behold the Field of the Fallen. Many gravestones could be seen as if to plague the area with it's dreary and cold stones jutting from the softened earth. Grasping at Ming's hard firmly, the man took a step forward through the Field of the Fallen.
- "This is where my family resides. My mother, father, sister, and Akari all rest here in our family tomb. Once a year on the anniversary of my father's death, I come here to pay homage to them. I was too weak to protect them. And that beast you both saw in Ming's shop was the one responsible for killing a very important family member of mine. Hasegawa Akari," the man explained before continuing to drag the three with him almost as if they were forced to come.
- "Though, to be honest, I'm sure they would be much happier to see me eating with friends than to hear me explain how weak I was year in and year out," the man said trying to force a smile upon his face. The closer he had gotten to the family tomb, the more and more trying it was for the man to be strong and show a strong face. The fact that he was indeed powerless to protect the ones he loved made it difficult for him to want to be in love, even if it was with Ming Yue.

- Both Ming and Yuii remained silent as they entered the graveyard. Yuii took to silently staring around herself, unfamiliar to a place like this, with her blue eyes wide and sad. She understood, but not fully, what everything meant.
- Ming did, and she felt nothing but guilt for not having been here for so long. The others, they had probably been here alone for so long while she went gallivanting freely across the countryside and back. She had promised to return often and here it was seven years later without a single hello. Her eyes instantly searched out and found those familiar graves and she only felt a greater guilt in not seeing fresh flowers laid out for them.
- She shouldn’t grieve for them right now though, this was Renzo’s time after all and it wouldn’t help him if she crumbled too. Besides, now that they lived in Kiri again there was no excuse for not visiting. So she focused instead on where they were stepping and tried not to think too hard until it occurred to her there was one person they could both visit.
- ‘Is Nana-chan buried near by?” Ming asked quietly, her eyes locked on the tomb of people she had never known. Even the adopted sister was from a time when she had not been present for and so Tatsuko would know more of the young girl then Ming would. She couldn’t grieve properly for them, not having known them, but she did send silent assertion that she wasn’t anything innately dangerous and she meant only the best. What that meant, she wasn’t sure, but Ming was certain it was true.
- Nonchalantly she took a side step closer to Renzo so that her shoulder pressed against his arm and their hands because trapped between them. She wasn’t like Tatsuko, she wasn’t brave enough to wrap her arms around Renzo’s and cling affectionately, not that she wanted to do so anyways. Uncertainly, she turned her head to see if she was alright with what she had done but unbidden her eyes swept past Renzo to where Yuii perched in a huddle.
- She was shaking, which was unnatural for Yuii, and her hands were clamped over her ears while her eyes squeezed shut against a sight Ming couldn’t imagine. Graveyards were peaceful places and in the daylight there shouldn’t have been anything to frighten her little sister. Worried by Yuii’s strange behaviour, Ming untwined her hand from Ren’s and reached up to run her hand through Yuii’s hair.
- Her answer was a whimpered, ‘it’s too loud,” which was the most worrying of all.
- “Neh, Ren, pass her here? Something’s wrong.”

- A graveyard was a solemn and strange place, and at once Tatsuko felt a twinge of understanding as to why Renzo had been sad. It would be wrong to try and be too cheerful at a graveyard, so she subsided even more, remaining quiet.
- "Akari--"
- Her voice cut off as memories vaulted to the surface.
- Killed, not his fault--
- A bright child with whirled red eyes in the forest
- She loved him as if they were flesh and blood siblings--
- The same desire to protect
- To protect the same person--
- "I understand your anger, he targeted someone we both consider precious…"
- So much out of reach, yet how strange that a single name would jog memory
- How sick I was hearing of her death, for her sake as well as his--
- Could have been, in another world, almost a real sister too
- Not his fault!
- She shook herself, a wave of dizziness washing over her. Realizing she'd stood stock still with a vaguely shocked expression for a few seconds too long, she didn't attempt to qualify it.
- "Don't blame yourself for Akari," she said quietly, sounding almost like Tatsuya would. "If there was anything you could have done, you would have. But I don't think she'd want you to be sad. She was trying to light you up, remember?"
- Where did that come from?
- Her gaze flickered over to Yuii and that feeling of wrongness doubled again. She couldn't hear anything around. Was the young girl having some kind of seizure.
- "Yuii?"

- "Yes, against my clan's wishes, I buried my mother, Nana-chan, and Akari with my family. According to clan edict, the curse would only get intensified and worse until it completely consumes me for committing such a taboo," the Mizukage stated before turning to look down towards Tatsuko for a brief moment and smiled.
- "Yes, you're right. I'm certain she wouldn't want me to have a sullen look on my face right now," Ren said turning the frown upside down. If only he had known about Akari's confession to Kuromaru from the grave through the use of the Crimson Realm. If only he had known of that treachery, he probably wouldn't have the same respect for her. And that is the reason Kuromaru seeks his crown.
- The 3 continued to walk for a moment with the Hasegawa tomb in clear sight before something started to bother Yuii. Ming had asked to hand her over, which caused the Mizukage to quickly place his hands above his head to grab Yuii by the waist and picked her up and over to hand her to Ming Yue. Now something was concerning him. A place that only the dead rested and was so quiet you could drop a pin. Then it clicked to him.

- Yuii whimpered and squirmed as Ren brought her down off of his shoulders, the reaction similar to if he was trying to dump her in a barrel of spiders or molten rock. She quieted again when placed in Ming's arms, resorting to repeated pleas ranging from asking 'them' not to stand so close by and wanting to go home. The entire range of it had Ming baffled, none of this was like her generally happy, curious and overall friendly little sister. Making up friends of attention, well she had a few made up ones but never ones she used as an excuse; and acting like this around two people she obviously liked. well that was just plain unnatural.
- With an apologetic smile for the pair, because despite what Renzo said visiting the dead was a solemn event, Ming too a few steps away to give them some peace. It gave her time to puzzle over Yuii's strange behavior too; whom had resorted to pressing her face against Ming's neck and was more or less now mumbling to herself.
- She hadn't a clue, not a one, and her only resource for such a question would be quite unavailable which left.
- "Mou... Re-" she paused, her eyes flicking towards Tatsu strangely, "Hasegawa-san, I'm going to take her home. This isn't really like her and I haven't..." her words trailed off, the lost look on her face more than enough explanation, "But now that I know where Nanako-chan was buried I'll come visit again.." But she paused, waiting for them to say it was alright before going. There was the food too, she would need to give them the basket before she left even if they were likely to get sick from it.
- [Leaving next post >#> prolly... sorry for the wait~ There was the zoo and some shopping n' munchkin and skinny Asian boys to make fun of]

- Tatsuko gave Renzo's arm a reassuring squeeze.
- "Ren. No one is going to let a curse take you. I'm certainly not," she attempted a smile. "If there's anything at all I can do..."
- Her powers were based in light, after all. She could only help in that way.
- "I know it's a sorrowful time of year for you, but...maybe you should remember the good things, instead. I'm sure there were good times for you to think on." She really was trying with that smile, even though something about the atmosphere was getting to her. Maybe it was just that they were in a graveyard.
- Yuii looked like she was still fidgeting. She frowned, but before she could say anything Ming started acting odd too. What was that look, and why was she treating Renzo so formally?
- "It's okay," she said softly to Ming, not wanting to disturb the atmosphere of the graveyard too much. "It's understandable, if she's not feeling well."
- She wouldn't raise any objections unless Renzo did. After all, this was his day.

- -atagikitsuro hikigane-
- Two years.
- Hikigane stood at the two large stones placed side-by-side. They were new additions, the tombstones. He'd put them in only two months ago; days prior, he'd marked the spot of the graves of the Akigetsu children and his two siblings with Minori's psychoblade. Now with respectable markers, Hikigane pulled the violet sword from the ground and hoisted it onto his shoulder.
- The Akigetsu kids died at the hands of the Experimentals. The Experimentals died at the hands of Hikigane. He sighed. He wasn't really helping anyone here - neither by mourning something out of his control, nor by killing the only family he'd ever known.
- There's still Roku. and Senkaku.
- He growled to himself at the thought. He hadn't talked to Roku since he'd returned to Kirigakure, and he could barely recall his "oni-san's" face. What did it matter now, though? he was almost twenty five now. He was aging oddly, erratically. Probably a result of Hoshuzu's experiments... he thought to himself with a sigh. It was starting to bug him, because now he had no idea what age he really was. It was almost one thing after another with him; amnesia, identity, protection, destruction, revenge, and now simple age. Would he ever get a rest?
- I should stop whining.
- The thought came to him suddenly, but with a certain welcomeness. It could all be a lot worse. He had to keep reminding himself that. With a forcefully content sigh. Hikigane began to walk away from the grave - but not before his ears picked up on something. Voices of the soft nature. He wasn't sure how to handle this situation. He was in a graveyard for crying out loud. It's not like hushed murmurs were odd. But still.
- Leaving Minori's sword at the grave, Hikigane walked towards the source of the voices, curious as to who was around. He made no attempt to hide his own presence - if he was unwanted, he was sure whoever he was stumbling upon would tell him.
- "Hello?"

- The blond couldn't help but notice the reaction of fear in Yuii's eyes and the cracking of her voice. The Mizukage looked on in disbelief as the girl instantly quieted as soon as she was placed into the warm arms of that woman. However, even if Ming had to leave, Ren wouldn't allow that to ruin this day. This day certainly was important to him. Even if a child seemed mortified of something, that isn't grounds for him to show his respects to his family.
- "Very well, Mi-chan. I'll have to make it up to you some other time. Perhaps dinner tomorrow night?" Ren asked before granting the woman a smile. This seemed like he was giving her the farewell.
- "You're wrong on that account, Tatsuko. I'm already cursed," Ren stated recollecting turning into a being of complete darkness that had instantly de-armed his cousin the previous night right before Ming's eyes. Hopefully, that arm was disposed of. "There is no changing the past, Tatsuko-chan. I was once told I was an incarnate of evil. If that is the truth, then so be it," Ren said before looking back at Ming Yue as well as Yuii and smiled to her.
- "I'm sorry we couldn't spend time together, Yu-chan. Maybe some other time I'll take you to see a zoo, okay?" Ren asked. Whether or not these were empty promises all reside on whether or not he could find a zoo to take them to.
- The Mizukage turned his head towards the direction of the tomb and glared at the wide opening of the tomb with it's sleek design made entirely of wood. In front of the tomb itself, was a large onyx obelisk with the name of the Hasegawa Family upon it.

- "Come, Tatsuko," Ren said as if to summon her to follow him to the tomb. He had said his goodbyes to Ming and Yuii. Hopefully he will make it up to them sometime in the near future. Ren had taken Tatsuko to directly in front of the onyx obelisk and stopped right in front of it. Directly in front of it was a small altar where burnt up incense already upon the plate directly below it. The man turned his head to look around, trying to figure out who it was that could have come to the tomb.
- "Someone was here before us. Who could it have been?" Ren said silently to himself. Before he could react, someone said hello? The man turned his shoulders and looked to the man that made himself known.
- "Identify yourself."

- Tatsuko stood silently while Ming left with Yuii, allowing them to leave with only slight acknowledgment. She hadn't minded their presence, really, but it was best for them to go, if Yuii was in a bad way from this.
- "Even if you are cursed..." She latched onto his arm again, "that's no reason to think of yourself as a bad person. If you were, your actions toward people wouldn't be as full of kindness as they are."
- She fell silent after that, letting Renzo lead on. She stood back somewhat as he inspected the already burnt incense. So he hadn't been expecting anyone else to have been there?
- "Ren...?" Tatsuko aborted the question when she heard another voice. She raised an eyebrow at the newcomer. He should've been familiar, she knew that much--
- "You are not a person."
- "Who are you?" her demand overlapped with Renzo's, and she didn't know if this was a slip she could cover. Hopefully his voice had been louder. If this were someone she were supposed to be familiar with already, that could get sticky later.
- But should I be, or was that random?

- Katsumi looked upon the gates of the Kirigakure cemetery with a feeling of sadness. He remembered how his big brother was never given a proper burial. A lump of dead, overturned dirt in the backyard of his old home in the Land of Fire was the only indication that he was even there. Katsumi had to stop himself from going down memory lane, back to the wooden house that holds every horrible childhood memory he has ever experienced. Still being a child, the boy firmly believed that unless he saw his mother and father again, nothing that life altering would ever happen further.
- Katsumi took a deep breath and entered the quiet resting place of the dead, his grayish black eyes scanning the headstones. Even being in this land that seemed so different from the land behind the gates, the boy still felt the familiar burn of curiosity. His eyes stopped on a particularly large burial ground, it was even bigger than his old house. "Woah...I wonder who rests there." Katsumi itched with inquisitiveness, his eyes not able to leave the massive structure. He found himself walking as if in a trance toward the entrance, and upon closer inspection he found this was the resting place of a Hasegawa member. "Hasegawa? Have I heard that name before? No I do t believe I have..." He reached the gate and looked up at the full height of the building, the scar across his throat shining a little after being exposed briefly before he looked straight ahead once more.
- A small, hesitant hand pushed the door open slightly, where he first started hearing a mixture of voices inside. "?" Katsumi pushed it open a little more, so he would be able to see and he saw an adult he recognized instantly. "Mizukage-sama? Why is he here?" Although he is a pretty sharp boy, the thought never crossed Katsumi's mind that this could be a deceased family member of the Mist leader. Katsumi was torn from exploring the temple, and turning back. In the end, he decided not to disturb the Mizukage so he turned and left the cemetery.

- Ming ducked her head to hide the light blush she could feel burning to the surface of her cheeks. He had called her Mi-chan, no one had ever called she something so short and cute before. Ming was already a shortened form of her name and it wasn't really easy to tell 'Mi-chans' apart in a Shinobi world. The girls that got cute names like that were usually popular, beloved people who captured the hearts off everyone around them by grace of being them and Ming couldn't consider herself that sort of person.
- Perhaps her focus on her words was what allowed her to miss how he said them. She may have carefully though through his words and maybe stayed if she thought anything was amiss... then again the squirming child in her arms would probably lead her to the same decision she made now.
- "H-hai... Dinner..." She answered in a quiet voice and was certain neither of them could hear her. She was already turning, hiding, anyways and so there was no point in saying it again. He could only assume, she could only wait for him and see what happened. That was for tomorrow though and tomorrow was another day.
- "Tell me everything that happened, tell me everything you saw," Ming murmured quietly to Yuii as the two picked their way through the graveyard. Little Yuii's voice could be heard on the wind, her voice washed out by distance and time.
- And at the last, "Nii-chan, I want to go to the Zoo."
