  1. The stars glimmered brightly in the ocean-blue darkness of the night sky. Beneath the serene beauty of the jewels above lay a quiet city, surrounded by cliffs from all sides in a round, circular fashion. No fires burnt in the hearths of its civilians, no torches shone amongst the seeping darkness. The very picture of peace itself. Soon, the night sky began shifting in hues; from a dark, jet-blue, to a light turquoise. From the east, the sun began to rise, bringing with it a burst of life into the slumbering city. As the bright-red ball of light began ascending from the eastern cliffside, it illuminated the large island, painting the whole city in a neon orange. The birds began chirping, the children began crying, and the guards began their shifts anew. Everything seemed to change.

  3. All but one thing. The largest part of the island itself, the center, was as pitch-black as it always had been. Even when the sun itself stood on its apex, stubbornly casting its brilliant rays into the gigantic chasm, none could peer too deep into the monolithic depths. For what lay there was none other than the last great mystery of the world itself; the Abyss.

  5. As the sun shone upon a quaint little window, a youth slumbering within was awoken rudely by the nuzzling of its companion. He soon awoke in a confused daze as the small prankster hopped onto his face, smothering him awake. The youth cast his eyes upon the sudden intruder to see a small, fluffy, dog-like creature; his one and only partner, an Umbreon. With a sudden, quick movement, he picked the little bastard up and placed him onto the ground. After lying down for another five minutes, he began preparing for the day. As he completed the grueling task that was standing up from his bed, he reached for his nightstand, where his blue whistle lay. Wearing the deep blue token proudly, he quickly got dressed, and headed for the door. The day had just begun. As the doorknob turned, as the bright sunlight began peeking through the open seams, he grinned widely, and greeted Orth once more, the city of delvers.
