  1. I think. Yeah, the nail on the head here is they've taken an outdated, clunky, restricted system (long tick based) and attempted to attach a new, more complicated, intriguing combat system onto it. And so, right? As time goes on people become bored and want more detail, need more intricacy, want more challenge because that is what happens when people get better, which always happens over time. So the intention is got by me.

  3. But the problem is they tried to all attach it and wasn't designed for this. They end up being limited to what they can add. The problem with this thread is there's a lot of talk about the problem and not much. Yeah there is"remove/decrease the tick and tile system!" But what? The quantity of development focus mobile has taken up within the previous year has led to a fairly large disappointments on the update side of things and thankfully we are now coming from that we're beginning to see more things such as Arachronia and Bank Rework.

  5. And in this time you are probably going to see a good deal of people leaving who believe that the runescape game is dying, a great deal of people leaving who only see updates pertaining to MTX (because that is a separate development team) and become frustrated.

  7. The issue isn't the system, the issue is the direction the runescape game took in 2012. It strove to become something that couldn't be, and as a result nearly all people left enjoying are the men and women who enjoy this clunky combat system and have become good/accustomed to it. Anyone who really enjoys skilling over pvm has more than likely left to play with OSRS, a match with exactly the exact same skilling"mechanics" however a 3x larger runescape player base and thus a much better experience.

  9. Since nearly all people left are the people who take pleasure in the combat system, these are the people they have to cater for otherwise we will get rid of the only people we've left. And I get that the justification is"we need to get more runescape players" But what if we don't? Imagine if the time for MMOs is finished and all of that revamp succeeded in doing is shedding the runescape player base? And we got barely any runescape players? Not as it would require decades of lack of updates, that's not a risk worth taking imo.
