  1. Andreas says, "... 'ey Captain? A thought jus' crossed my mind."
  2. Andreas asks, "'ow're we bringin' the Kraken back?"
  3. Thanatos Task says, "A rift."
  4. Thanatos Task says, "Probably."
  5. Andreas says, "Ah."
  6. Andreas says, "..."
  7. Thanatos shrugs.
  8. (Thanatos Task)
  9. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  10.
  11. Andreas asks, "What's a rift?"
  12. Thanatos Task says, "You'll see."
  13. Andreas says, "Ok."
  14. Lenalla exclaims, "They're glorious!"
  15.
  16.
  17. Maertock Reave says, "Yeah."
  18. Maertock Reave says, "A rift."
  19. Maertock Reave says, "It was either that."
  20. Maertock Reave says, "OR A LONG"
  21. Maertock Reave says, "DRUG ADDLED SWIM"
  22. Maertock Reave says, "THOUSANDS OF METERS UP"
  23. Maertock Reave says, "WITH A FUCKING KRAKEN ON MY BACK."
  24. Maertock Reave says, "NO FEAR I'D DO IT"
  25. Maertock Reave says, "But rifts."
  26. Maertock Reave says, "Yes."
  27. {NARRATION} (Prologue!)
  28.
  29. The sea was a dangerous body to mess with in Esshar. As for all the conflict that it would happen upon on land, the waves too were ripe with mauraders and pirates.
  30.
  31.
  32. .. A few of which would hope to better themselves!
  33.
  34. In preparation for the upcoming adventure, Maertock would've enlisted his crewmates into some classes, as a brief reminder on how to operate a vessel on the high seas ..
  35. {NARRATION} .. You find yourself at a Naval Academy!
  36. You'll be explained the basics of ship combat.
  37. "..."
  38.
  39. The Task simply blinks as he stares at his Captain. "What the fuck." Is all the man can bring himself to say, as he stares down the naval academy. "Why the fuck-"
  40.
  41. The man simply takes a deep breath, before shaking his head.
  42.
  43. "Whatever. Fine. Fuck it. I'm sure we'll learn something interesting here, and if not I'm shooting the teacher."
  44. (Thanatos Task)
  45. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  46.
  47. If had never gone to school. The fact they could read at all was only thanks to the fact Murtock forced them to learn. And math was a simple necessity for a merchant..
  48.
  49. They began to feel immensely sleepy.
  50. (If Reave)
  51. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  52.
  53. Honestly? It was probably a good idea for Andreas to be set before a Naval Academy. The farmhand-gone-pirate literally knew NOTHING about manning a ship. Thus, the first-mate(?) finds himself beside the crew that'd come along for the Kraken hunt.
  54.
  55. This was going to be rough.
  56.
  57. Like any good learning lad he'd pull out his pocketbook and prepare for some notes. "'ow many of y'all know 'ow ta work a ship 'xactly..?" Andreas idly queried the group, "Jus' curious-- Really 'opin' I ain't the only person new ta all this."
  58. (Andreas)
  59. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  60.
  61. Maertock would cackle with amusement as he roped his crew into nothing less than the finest course of naval combat he could find. It took a lot of work to find a classically trained navalman, but luckily money and drugs were the universal currency of the land, sea, and sky alike.
  62.
  63. After all, his original crew was long gone. He was the last with actual experience at sea beyond the newest reavers. And even then, limited at best to expeditions. What a fine time for a refresher.
  64.
  65. "If you can't sink a ship, you're a shit pirate. That's all there is to it. Goes the same for leviathans boys, girls, listen up and pay attention."
  66. (Maertock Reave)
  67. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  68.
  69. …
  70.
  71. He was sent to school.
  72.
  73. It was certainly an unexpected occurrence that he didn't expect to be forced to undertake, eyes scanning across the interior of the Naval Academy they found themselves in.
  74.
  75. "Actually.."
  76.
  77. Enki's mood brightened considerably, his head bopping over towards Thanatos as he hummed in thought.
  78.
  79. "Maybe I'll actually learn something of use."
  80. (Enki)
  81. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  82.
  83. If Reave says, "I am -not- goin t'school."
  84. If Reave says, "I never have and never will."
  85. Andreas says, "Don't worry, I'll listen for ya If."
  86. Throughout all of her years of pirating, it had been some time since operating off the coast, and usually it was underwater, so naval lessons wasn't such a bad idea to her.
  87.
  88. Noticing the lull starting to set in some of the crew, she splashed some cold water at them ta keep their senses up.
  89.
  90. "Aye, this be an adventure in itself!"
  91. (Lenalla)
  92. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  93.
  94. Pretty much like If, Yana never went to school. There was one time the shaman offered to teach her and some other younglings about the spirits, but Gou never ended up showing around, so she became a pirate. The rest was pretty much self explanatory.
  95.
  96. "If, just take the class like a good lad."
  97. (Yana)
  98. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  99.
  100. Thanatos Task says, "Just shout out orders, captain."
  101. Enki says, "I'll remove any fires, and use the cannons."
  102. Maertock Reave says, "I WILL SHOUT ORDERS"
  103. Maertock Reave says, "IT'S OKAY"
  104. Maertock Reave says, "I AM A STRATEGIST"
  105. Maertock Reave says, "HUMAN RESOURCES"
  106. Thanatos Task says, "If, or Lenalla might be better at puttin' out fires, Enki."
  107. Thanatos Task says, "Water magi, and all that."
  108. Enki exclaims, "Fire magi!"
  109. Enki says, "A mere flex of my great power, and it'll be gone."
  110.
  111. {NARRATION} Chapter 1-
  112.
  113. The grueling voyage was finally coming to a close.
  114.
  115. It was a surreal thing really- the idea of sailing off into such distant waters, far off any charted coast.
  116.
  117. The Deep Company and their ferocious band of pirates and merchants would've now been on the magnificent Pauper's Bride for the past two months.
  118.
  119. Rations were running low, and sea-sickness was growing rampant. These waters were not friendly in the slightest.
  120.
  121. It is no secret that Eternia yet still holds Seas still unexplored. For these waters in particular?
  122.
  123. .. A festering Occultism would break the monotomy with every splash and drop of seawater.
  124. {NARRATION} .. It's been a long day, but you finally are beginning to see a horizon in the distance.
  125.
  126. .. Though, this land-mass in particular seems blanketed by a dark fog ..
  127.
  128.
  129.
  130. An adventure that in truth took far longer than he had imagined, the months gradually dragging on and with it the eerie quiet, the crashing of waves that dominated the surroundings becoming a familiar sound for the man.
  131.
  132. Food was steadily becoming a nuisance, his head dipping over the railing of the ship to gaze towards the body of water that no doubt held a multitude of food.
  133.
  134. There was a temptation there. To look to dive into the waves in search for a fish to feast upon, but it was held back as he looked ahead, the horizon finally coming into view.
  135.
  136. "Finaaaallly."
  137.
  138. Enki's lips parted, an exhale of air following as he made to move towards the front of the ship, to get a better look at their upcoming destination.
  139. (Enki)
  140. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  141.
  142. The short quartermaster was, thankfully, brought up on a ship from a rather young age. So they were used to the rocking. And even when it became too much for them of all people to bear, they could simply hover above the deck instead.
  143.
  144. More often than not they would boredly sit upon the crow's nest, messing with the waters from far above. They kept a 'sense' in the ocean currents, in attempts to feel for anything that might be hunting them down from below. For that, as well as looking for anything of interest.
  145.
  146. Odd shapes. Something moving faster than fish. The hull of a ship breaking the surface of the waves. If was acting as the lookout.
  147.
  148. It was never much of a bore for them, letting the darkness of the water play with the abyssal magic they were more familiar with. The short quartermaster kept notes on anything out of the ordinary.
  149. (If Reave)
  150. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  151.
  152. Two months on the sea.
  153.
  154. Honestly, the goat-horned man was beginning to already miss the land. From the Reef's booze to the old ledges scattered around Esshar, there were so many spots to sit and mull over the world at. Yet... Being in the middle of the ocean meant he was closer to them.
  155.
  156. To help in his sea-sickness the lad took to trying to catch fish with his impromptu fishing rod. It might work, it might not, but he could at least feel pride if he managed to pull out a fish or two to eat.
  157.
  158. Though it all comes to a head with the fog rolling in. Rectangular pupils widen briefly as he pulls himself away from the starboard's side. The fishing rod if foregone in favor of merely cupping his hands above his eyes in an attempt to block out the dying sun.
  159.
  160. "So uh... Hwhat the 'el y'all thinkin' that is?" Andreas grumbled, "New land ta claim or a 'ole other continent?"
  161. (Andreas)
  162. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  163.
  164. Maertock had forgotten the sensation of a long journey at sea in truth. It had been far, far too long since the days and weeks had passed at sea. His crew for the hunt was filled with young reavers and daring prospects. Yana and If had been with them the longest, but even they were only in the third wave of the crew's growth.
  165.
  166. How time had flown. And yet the Captain had remained when all of them had gone. Perhaps this was the mantle of leadership, the burden it places to see people come and go and yet never falter.
  167.
  168. At the arrival of the festirng occultism's blackened fog in the distance, the Captain would empty the bottle of rum he'd been nursing the whole morning lazily before smashing it on deck, cackling with cheer as he paced to the front of the ship to get a better view.
  169.
  170. "Look's like meat might be on the menu boys."
  171. (Maertock Reave)
  172. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  173.
  174. Two months.
  175.
  176. Two long months he'd spent sitting atop the crow's nest of the Pauper's Bride, and you know what he was doing up there?
  177.
  178. Thriving.
  179.
  180. Whenever he found himself even remotely hungry, or displeased with anything, BAM, he'd tear open a rift, and grab some food from his home, or leave a note, and some coins for his uncle to gather some supplies for him.
  181.
  182. Of course he shared none of his spoils with the rest of the crew.
  183.
  184. Absolute bastard.
  185.
  186. "Hmmm...?" He'd mutter, as he finally laid his olive hues upon a an approaching land mass.
  187.
  188. "LAND HO!"
  189.
  190. That was the right phrase to yell out, right?
  191. (Thanatos Task)
  192. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  193.
  194. While Lenalla had been a living in the Pauper's Bride it's been far too long since she's been on a ship actually out sailing, and not docked or sunk at the bottom of the ocean.
  195.
  196. The lionfish mermaid never really had a sense of time, so as the days dragged on, the liminal space and social construct of created by land dweller known as 'keeping track of time' didn't seem to have as a heavy effect on her.
  197.
  198. If anything her constant shanties and 'totally true' stories that were repeated over and over again was probably the main source of madness for the crew.
  199.
  200. It wasn't until food began running low that Lenalla began to get soured. Every day she watched each member wondering what their meat tasted like, and after careful consideration, she chose Andreas.
  201.
  202. Though as something appeared on the horizon, the mermaid ran to the bow and cheered. "Aye, that be true captain, and it ain't goat anymore!...shit ignore that last part Andy!"
  203.
  204.
  205. (Lenalla)
  206. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  207.
  208. The frequently seasick crewmates reminded Yana of simpler times, when she tended to Lyael whenever the young Ookami needed his hair held back. Murtock was still alive and she was only a swabbie. Now, the endless blue had been inspiring the diplomat on unending, worrysome long sessions of playing the lute again.
  209.
  210. After two months, Yana started developing weird habits. She would hunt and eat rats without a second thought. Whenever too bored, the Ookami would stay on deck and just wait for a friendly seagull to show up, her nails protruding and ready.
  211.
  212. ...She was a sea cook and a tribal, even after all the fancying up.
  213.
  214. Once the Pauper's Bride approached something mysterious, Yana couldn't help but grin. It had to be the foreigner land of the elders Ookamis!
  215. (Yana)
  216. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  217.
  218. {NARRATION} .. The crew had their own unique ways of coping.
  219.
  220. .. Whether it was eating rats.
  221. .. Singing shanties.
  222. .. Practicing Riftmancy.
  223. .. Or even just trying to fend off the Seasickness.
  224.
  225.
  226. But finally, it seemed to be so. This was no mirage, no fake illusions. The sea is a cruel mistress, but an honest one.
  227.
  228. .. The ship begins to head into the fog ..
  229.
  230. {NARRATION}
  231. .. As the fog encroaches the ship, you feel a sourness in the lungs.
  232. Unlike any you've ever felt before.
  233.
  234. Your lungs begin to feel dry, your throat burns- and your heart begins to palpate.
  235.
  236. .. The crew! They begin to collapse for a moment and hold themselves steadfast as this horrendous aurora washes over the ship, blanketing it for a moment ..
  237.
  238.
  239. .. And as they would try to fight it?
  240. Well, they would all have their own unique reactions.
  241.
  242. {NARRATION} .. You begin choking horrendously on the fog!
  243.
  244.
  245. {NARRATION} (As the horrible curse begins to purse your body, you feel a strangeness overcoming you ..)
  246.
  247.
  248. (Do NOT fall below -50 Vit in injuries by the END of the event.)
  249.
  250. Maertock would pass through the black miasma of occultic fog that appeared to stand in the passage of their approach. As any fearless reaver lord might do, he breathed deep of the black fog as he felt its malignant energies flow through his form. His throat and gills felt especially dry in spite of the usual humidity of fog.
  251.
  252. Hadn't he just finished a bottle of rum? Why couldn't he taste its savor. What...
  253.
  254.
  255. The Captain would blink as his clawed hands trailed over his usually bare chest. Running over what felt like dried leather as the bumps of his ribs felt more pronounced. With a glance, he'd see he was sinew and bone without the sinew.
  256.
  257. He was a half skeleton. An undead.....oh.
  258.
  259. The necromancer did not expect that one. Was this truly a curse for him though? If he could not indulge in drugs, drinking, and food aplenty without limit, there was no meaning to riches was there...no luxury he could savor.
  260.
  261. "I believe I may have contracted a case of being a skeleton."
  262. (Maertock Reave)
  263. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  264.
  265. Okay, well he did share a bit of his spoils with If, but that was mostly due to the masked figure being up in the Crows Nest with him. If had lucked out!
  266.
  267. Anyways.
  268.
  269. As he felt the fog approached, every fiber of the Task's being began to tense up, as he suddenly found himself rather parched. NO he wasn't parched, his throat just felt like it was burning. Were he able to speak he'd probably yell out 'FUCK', but unfortunately for him that's something he's unable to do.
  270.
  271. It's quite sad.
  272.
  273. Yet, at every chance he could he'd attempt to fight the curse, but by the deep was it hard.
  274.
  275. "I think you got me sick too, you fuck. Wear a mask you bastard."
  276. (Thanatos Task)
  277. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  278.
  279. It was just fog, what could possibly go wrong? Letting his hands curl around the railing he'd allow his gaze to drift calmly about his surroundings. Did they need their bearings right now..?
  280.
  281. … Wait, why in the Hel did he feel like shit?
  282.
  283. Dry-heaving the pirate's face contorts nigh immediately. One hand shoots to his chest while the other clings onto the railing. Coughing and hacking away the goat-horned man's hand waves wildly in the air.
  284.
  285. Like any normal wind magi, though, he begins to conjure up a gale about his hand. One sharp wave of his hand is cast towards the fog in an attempt to perhaps lessen the effects on the crew-- It might not work, honestly, but he hates being short of breath...
  286.
  287. Fear briefly settles in his gaze, however, as he finds his hand's skin beginning to pale and weaken as the curse takes its course. Bones protrude, flesh rots, and all the goat man can do is... Cough harder, panicking as he continues to try and push that fog away.
  288.
  289. "Fuckin'-- SMOG--…" With a wheeze he eventually just gives in and dissipates into a green mist for a bit...
  290. (Andreas)
  291. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  292.
  293. The burn came first. A foreign feeling, one that pervaded his entire body as his lungs started to ache, a frown soon appearing across his countenance as he stared around.
  294.
  295. It certainly wasn't a good sign, his attention shifting around the surroundings as he looked around, wariness so evident within his gaze as he hummed.
  296.
  297. And then came that aura. A suffocating presence that was completely unexpected and unwelcome. A light, cosmic magic illuminating his body as he looked around in an attempt to peer towards the source of such a change.
  298.
  299. "This. This sucks."
  300.
  301. No longer was there a smile, instead, a cough forced itself past his lips.
  302. (Enki)
  303. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  304.
  305. Thankfully, If had some experience with choking. And drowning. The lot of it was painfully familiar, though of course it wasn't nearly the same... They couldn't say it was a new pain.
  306.
  307. The quartermaster wheezed beneath their helm, huddling down in the crow's nest as they tried to repulse the encroaching fog. Their own control of the occult-The abyss, moreso-Sought to turn it away from them. But in the end they had much the same reaction as most of the others.
  308.
  309. Of course.. None of this was seen. If looked just about the same as they had, given their entire body was covered in armor.
  310.
  311. If rattled their bones. Then laughed. The two sounded one and the same. "Feck."
  312. (If Reave)
  313. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  314.
  315. Despite acting feral during the last few weeks, Yana was still a medic and should be absolutely able to make up of what was happening to the crew and herself, correct?
  316.
  317. "Smog?!" No, smog was the stench present in Achyon. This was something way worse.
  318.
  319. As the fog settled in their throats, causing a very unwelcome fit of coughing, Yana pressed a mana imbued hand to her chest. Unlike Maertock, the texture of dried skin and protruding bones only pushed the Ookami into rushing the heal attempt, her palm enveloped in biologic magic.
  320. (Yana)
  321. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  322.
  323. Arms splayed out foot on the mast, Lenalla was ready to breathe in the air of another new land that she shall become an invasive species to, but as she inhaled, violent coughs were followed.
  324.
  325. Gills flaring she wheezed and fell back on the deck. What the hel kind of air was this? Not even the smog of Achyon afflicts her like so.
  326.
  327. Scratching her head, spines bristled, but why did her head feel so dry? Moving her hand out of the way, her eyes bulged at the skeletal replacements.
  328.
  329. Flopping onto her belly she cringed at ribs hitting wood. Crawling back to her feet, the pirate looked around to her crew, noticing a similar affliction.
  330.
  331. "Oi, Nidaz didn't tell me bout this!"
  332. (Lenalla)
  333. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  334.
  335. If Reave says, "."
  336. [19:34] {NARRATION} A wicked curse has blanketed itself upon the crew .. A pox; a blight to behold!
  337.
  338. Their bodies would ache and suffer, before some would soon realize that they were turning into .. Skeletons!
  339.
  340. .. How ironic that a heavily Occultic crew would soon succumb to the more violent aspects of that Demonic Magic.
  341.
  342. Still, the sails were full of gust, and pressed forward. If in any case, answers to this troublesome problem would lie deeper in these vicious horizons.
  343.
  344. .. One would hope.
  345. {NARRATION} ... You begin to see something forming in the horizon ..
  346. You couldn't believe it for yourself, but another vessel was headed your way ..
  347.
  348. .. And they didn't seem too friendly at all!
  349.

  364. Enki says, "FIRE"
  365. Maertock Reave says, "FIRE"
  366. Maertock Reave says, "MISS."
  367. Enki says, "NORMAL CANNONBALL"
  368. Enki says, "BANG."
  369. Another ship.
  370.
  371. They didn't seem too friendly.
  372.
  373. Without missing a beat, the cursed Task would leap off of the crow's nest, landing on the deck of the ship, and without an ounce of hesitation. He'd load up a cannon with a regular cannonball.
  374.
  375. "FIRE!"
  376.
  377. No orders had been given, but at the same time Than didn't give a fuck, and thus!
  378.
  379. The cannonball was sent soaring towards the enemy man-o-war.
  380. (Thanatos Task)

  402. ] Enki's body took an unexpected turn alongside the crew, skin found itself shed, and instead his ivory bones became his true form. A rattle of bones followed his movement as he stared ahead.
  403.
  404. Towards the new ship that had arrived, his plan already coming to mind. A simple conclusion to what had to be done to the foe ahead.
  405.
  406. "FIRE!"
  407.
  408. Already a cannon was aimed, sparked, and the ball within found itself launched towards the vessel.
  409.
  410. There would be no delaying the inevitable, they had pillaging to do!
  411. (Enki)
  412. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  413.
  414. Yana felt... surprisingly lighter as her magic faltered. Realizing the magic didn't work, the Ookami moved what was supposed to be her hand, only to be surprised by an intriguing web of bones. A desperate scream is heard through the Paper's Bride as the once proud Motali beastkin became an skeleton!
  415.
  416. Despite nobody really caring for her at the moment, she hides inside of an oversized cloak.
  417.
  418. "Don't look at me! This is grotesque!" Ashamed and not needed right now, Yana is absolutely fishing.
  419. (Yana)
  420. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  421.
  422. Maertock was still rather infatuated with the skeletal manifestation of his being, the dread pirate necromancer admiring his own bone structure like the shark Adonis he was before cackling in amusement and ambient glee as he slapped his arcanic plate.
  423.
  424. If he remained a skeleton for good? It happens. But right now, he had bigger fish to fry.
  425.
  426. His icy blue eyes fell upon the approach MAN-O-WAR, the Captain of the Deep Company's serrated rows of teeth spreading wide as he began to cackle with excitement. His dry throat made him cough, but he continued to laugh as he raked Saltspite's accursed blade from its sheathe.
  427.
  428. "Man-O-War! ALL CREW TO THE CANNONS. WE'RE TAKING THEM HEAD ON."
  429.
  430. The captain's tentacles would already be at the wheel of the ship directing them forth.
  431. (Maertock Reave)
  432. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  433.
  434. Oh.
  435.
  436. Oh no.
  437.
  438. Drawing in a sharp breath as the Man-O'-War drew close he'd flick his gaze towards the crew. Well, it was time to either get to fishing or making the enemies swiss cheese!
  439.
  440. …
  441.
  442. Andreas just stares for a time whilst the others get to work. He, like any greedy jackass, just takes a few steps on back-- Yana's taken his idea. FUCK. Letting out a sharp sigh he'd rush towards the cannons. Coming to a skidding halt he'd prepare the first normal cannonball to be fired by him.
  443.
  444. "FIRIN' FOR EFFECT, 'AVE FUN IN THE DEEP YA FUCKS!"
  445. (Andreas)
  446. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  447.
  448. Why did it always seem that things in this world either happen all at once or not at all? After two months of the latter things definitely became the prior today.
  449.
  450. Giving a two finger salute to the Captain, she ran to a cannon, manning it with her now surprisingly nimble bone hands.
  451.
  452. "FIRE!"
  453. (Lenalla)
  454. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  455.
  456. If glanced over the side of the crow's nest at the order, and dropped from above to land atop one of the cannons. They broke their fall with gravity, of course, but stood atop the thing without properly firing.
  457.
  458. The rest of the crew were already on that.
  459.
  460. Instead, the short quartermaster was there to handle damage mitigation. They sought to find whichever cannons aimed toward the Pauper's Bride, and return to sender.
  461.
  462. Simple as that.
  463. (If Reave)
  464. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  465.
  466. {NARRATION} Everyone but Yana!
  467.
  468. Roll D100!
  469.
  470. [Fire!!]
  471.
  472.
  473. [Yana goes fishing ... Roll d6!]
  474. {NARRATION} .. The crew does some devistating damage on the enemy!
  475.
  476. [306 Damage inflicted!!]
  477.
  478. [Yana has found a boot.]
  479. [{NARRATION} Enemy HP, 544HP.
  480.
  481.
  482. .. The cannons seem to be lining your way!!
  483. {NARRATION} Prepare for a barrage! Take cover!
  484. Andreas says, "... D'aw, fuck."
  485. [19:50] {NARRATION} Enemy: 61 Damage!
  486.
  487. Paper's Bride- 2939 HP!
  488.
  489. One eye open while waiting for Maertock's approvation while still under a feign death, Yana held the blade against the degrading vine.
  490.
  491. She knew for sure some wording wasn't perfect and the plot had been quite cliche, but could anything better be done? At least ten years had gone by since the last time she was in a play. Most of Yana's acting now consisted of practice, so being able to perform to Maertock didn't bother her so much.
  492. How could Maertock be so excited about becoming a walking corpse? If she had tearducts, the dramatical skeleton would definitely be weeping.
  493.
  494. Soon, the scavenging was left for later. The whole crew had this specific ship as a target, so it was clear as water now. Destroying the Man'o'war is the only way of getting answers for such a grotesque curse!
  495.
  496. "Gh-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" With all the strength a frustrated undead could gather, Yana rushed to the front lines, a Earth cannonball carried between meek bone-arms.
  497.
  498. "FIRE!"
  499. (Yana)
  500. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  501.
  502. "AGAIN. FIRE!"
  503.
  504. Enki didn't hesitate for another barrage of cannonballs to be sent forth, he was definitely getting the hang of things when it came to properly utilizing the cannon well.
  505. (Enki)
  506. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  507.
  508. Enki says, "..."
  509. Enki says, "hm."
  510. Andreas asks, "enki?"
  511. Thanatos Task asks, "enki?"
  512. If Reave asks, "enki?"
  513. Maertock Reave says, "Enki are you okay."
  514. {NARRATION} Enki has jammed their thumb! How sad!
  515.
  516. 1 DMG!
  517. [19:51] How could Maertock be so excited about becoming a walking corpse? If she had tearducts, the dramatical skeleton would definitely be weeping.
  518.
  519. Soon, the scavenging was left for later. The whole crew had this specific ship as a target, so it was clear as water now. Destroying the Man'o'war is the only way of getting answers for such a grotesque curse!
  520.
  521. "Gh-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" With all the strength a frustrated undead could gather, Yana rushed to the front lines, a Earth cannonball carried between meek bone-arms.
  522.
  523. "Fire!"
  524. (Yana)
  525. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  526.
  527. Wooosh!
  528.
  529. The Task would smile, as he watched his cannonball soar throughout the air, and crash into the enemy ship.
  530.
  531. Mere moments after the enemy ship returned fire upon them, the Task would load up another cannonball, and mere moments later it'd be sent SOARING through the air, and into the enemy ship.
  532.
  533. "FIRE!"
  534. (Thanatos Task)
  535. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  536.
  537. Grazing blows bless the ship and, honestly, the goat-horned man couldn't be any happier. Relenting a light breath of relief he eyes the rest of the crew--
  538.
  539. Enki fucks up. Somehow. Andreas can only blink at that...
  540.
  541. Without further ado, though, he'd allow the crew to take their time in firing away at the enemy ship. He, however, does what he intended to do the first time!
  542.
  543. Andreas is [FISHING]!
  544. (Andreas)
  545. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  546.
  547. The alchemist didn't even need to touch the cannons. With telekinesis alone they set to firing another volley toward the enemy with the rest of the crew.
  548. (If Reave)
  549. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  550.
  551. Maertock would cackle with glee as one of his tentacles set forth a cannonball that flew forth in tandem. His more violent crew mates appeared to be having a blast with a cannons. Yet, as the Man-o-War returned fire, the Captain could immediately see even with his growing skeletonificiation that the mast had cracked, and several boards on the deck had been smashed.
  552.
  553. With the useage of various tools that were removed from his shadowy being, the Captain of the Deep Company's black, inky tendrils would extend to begin patching up the damage of his ship actively in the midst of the battle at hand.
  554.
  555. "KEEP FIRING."
  556.
  557. Action: Repair
  558. (Maertock Reave)
  559. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  560.
  561. Jumping up at the hit, Lenalla clapped making some sort of clacking noise. shaking her decaying wrists out, she readied for another shot.
  562.
  563. "FIRE!"
  564. (Lenalla)
  565. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  566.
  567. {
  568.
  569. {NARRATION} Enemy
  570.
  571.
  572. .. You feel a barrage coming straight for you!
  573. Lenalla exclaims, "We got a pair o' boots now, maybe they the antidote!"
  574. Maertock Reave says, "ANDREAS IF YOU CAN FISH, YOU CAN PICK UP A HAMMER AND START BOARDING UP"
  575. Maertock Reave says, "AND YOU CANNOT FISH CLEARLY."
  576. Andreas exclaims, "FINE, FINE! FISHIN' ROD I 'AVE S'SHIT 'NYWAYS!"
  577. {NARRATION} .. The enemy is firing two volleys!
  578. Thanatos Task says, "Ah feck."
  579. Thanatos Task says, "These bastards ain't letting up."
  580. {NARRATION} .. It is your turn! What will you do?!
  581. Andreas exclaims, "Fuck 'em 'n' fuck this fishin' rod!"
  582. Enki says, "FIRE FIRE FIRE."
  583. Enki says, "FUCK."
  584. Thanatos clears his throat.
  585.
  586. "FIRE!"
  587. (Thanatos Task)
  588. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  589.
  590. And as expected of Yana, her damaging skills are at the worst shape possible. But will this stop her from firing another normal cannonball? No.
  591. (Yana)
  592. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  593. Andreas grumbles away as he clambers down below deck. Whatever planks of wood he can find are used to repair the ship whilst the others fire away.
  594. (Andreas)
  595. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  596.
  597. [19:56] Why were people fishing? If didn't entirely know why they were doing so in the middle of battle. However, they decided to do that. At least once.
  598. (If Reave)
  599. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  600.
  601. [19:58] Quite rude of these rapscallions punks from nit even bothering to parlay, who said pirates wouldn't be friendly...okay she would have done the same probably, but this isn't a moral debate, and Lenalla was hungry and turing to bones, so with that being said...
  602.
  603. "FIRE!"
  604. (Lenalla)
  605. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  606.
  607. [19:58] Maertock Reave exclaims, "FIRE!"
  608. [19:59] Maertock's tentacles would immediately extend to the nearby cannon when the repairs were done.
  609.
  610. Only for his tentacle to slip, turning the cannon of course as only a grazing shot was offered.
  611.
  612. "FUCK."
  613. (Maertock Reave)
  614. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  615.
  616. [19:59] {NARRATION} Enki - 21DMG
  617. Thanatos - 18DMG
  618. Andreas - repairs!
  619. Yana - 88DMG!
  620. Reave - Fishing!
  621. Lenalla - 90DMG!!
  622. Maertock Reave - 11 DMG!
  623.
  624.
  625. If Reave has found a starfish!
  626.
  627.
  628. {NARRATION} .. The enemy ship has burst into flames from the excessive damage!!
  629.
  630. .. They look close, and badly beaten.
  631.
  632. Would you like to board the enemy?
  633. [3 Rounds]
  634.
  635. "Hm."
  636.
  637. With the enemy ship in a rather poor state, the Task would pull out his rifle, and after a brief charge up period, he'd fire two shots. One right in front of him, and the other onto the enemy ship.
  638.
  639. Mere moments later the very world around them would begin to scream out in agony, as the very fabric of reality began to tear, as two rifts opened up.
  640.
  641. "These are rifts, Andreas." The First mate said with a bit of a nod. "Walk through, and we'll be on the enemy ship."
  642.
  643. With that said, he'd waltz on through.
  644.
  645. It was boarding time.
  646. (Thanatos Task)
  647. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  648.
  649.
  650. Maertock would cackle with excitement as the ship appeared to burst into flames, the winners of this particular battle at sea made clear for all those before them on the high seas. The Captain of the Deep Company would point his cutlass forth as his tentacles extended to the nearby wheel, the ruthless reaver steering their ship to RAMMING SPEED DIRECTLY INTO THE MAN-O-WAR
  651.
  652. "WE BOARD THEM! DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES."
  653. (Maertock Reave)
  654. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  655.
  656. [20:05] After patching up what he could below deck the first-mate(?) pops his head out from underneath the stairs. There's a slow squint at the flaming mass as his gaze flicks between the crew and the enemies...
  657.
  658. More prizes.
  659.
  660. "CAPTAIN, WE DROPPIN' ANCHOR?-- Actually, nah, CAPTAIN I'M GOIN' OVER!" The goat-horned man hissed as he straight up sprinted towards the closest shadow he could fine.- There came, however, the brief glance towards the rift Thanatos created...
  661.
  662. He'd use that coming back, probably!
  663.
  664. "THANK YA TEACH, I'LL WALK THROUGH HWHEN WE'RE COMIN' BACK! PROMISE!" Andreas hollered before screeching, hopefully slipping through the shadows and out of the shadows amongst the enemy's deck.
  665.
  666. It was pillaging time.
  667. (Andreas)
  668. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  669.
  670. Seeing the enemy ship catch into flames, the lionfish went to clap again, before remembering what happened, she refrained from it this time. Noticing the portals open, Lenalla had always wanted to got rift hopping. Without second thought, she leaped through the portal, no fear.
  671.
  672. "Ya better have lot o' riches fer this setback!"
  673. (Lenalla)
  674. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  675.
  676. If kept up their general activities until told otherwise, gravity working the cannonry and the like. But when it was time to board? Now that was where the true fun began.
  677.
  678. The short quartermaster hopped up, and flew right through one of the rifts Than had opened up for the lot of them. They immediately started messing with the rigging of the enemy ship, using spare or loose ropes to bind the lesser-powered of those aboard.
  679.
  680. Chaos. The splintering of wood to be heard as Maertock turned the ship in toward the other. Oh yes. This was fun.
  681. (If Reave)
  682. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  683.
  684. Of course, Yana waits until most of the crew is safe and on board before taking Thanatos' portal as well. What she looked for was nowhere as financial.
  685.
  686. While still hiding inside of the enormous cloak, the former Ookami looked for some clue about the plague affecting them. She also wouldn't admit it at first, but Yana was also hoping to find some magical items ready to be robbed.
  687.
  688. That would be way much fun if it wasn't for the skeletal form she was stuck in.
  689. (Yana)
  690. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  691.
  692. {NARRATION} Jump into the fire, and engage the enemy!
  693.
  694. {Won Dangerous RPB against RADICAL SKELETON}
  695.
  696. They weren't very used to fighting as a skeleton. Especially not fighting a skeleton as a skeleton. Truly they had a bone to pick with this scenario. If didn't find it very humerus.
  697.
  698. And yet, as they pulled Murtock's old pistol, they shouted out- "Rattle 'em, boys!"
  699.
  700. Across the deck of the ship they flooded inky, abyssal waters. The stench of decay and death filled the air, and the world seemed to ripple around them. Wavering slightly like the air above an intense heat. They directly fucked about with ropes and the like, letting their gravitational powers trip up many of the crew.
  701.
  702. The enemy crew. Not the friendlies. Though they could've done that too, it would be counter-productive to their position.
  703.
  704. And whilst the lot of them got the final blow, If set to doing their quartermasterly duties. Taking stock of what this ship had in terms of loot, and acquiring it for the crew.
  705. (If Reave)
  706. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  707.
  708. Maertock's determined pursuit of the ship would not be held back by any means of riftiness. Directing the Pauper's Bride directly into the course of the skeletal Man-O-War, the captain would smash into it at ramming speed before leaping forth like a flowing shadow upon the deck.
  709.
  710. There, a sea of skeletons and their captain stood waiting to face down the also cursed pirate. He felt his ribcage rattle with the black curse that had possessed him; that which had stolen his taste and scent and ability to drink. The last was the gravest insult of all, so why not relieve stress the only way he knew how.
  711.
  712. Violence.
  713.
  714. Leaping forth into the fray with a fog of black, razor tendrils, the Captain would immediately make his way directly to the leader of the enemy crew; the skeletal rogue that was the largest and most well dressed as he raked his cutlass forth to match blade with them in a brutal clash.
  715.
  716. "THIS HERE BE A NICE SHIP YE' HAVE. I'M THINKIN' IT'S MINE NOW."
  717.
  718. Brutalizing the captain of the skeleton crew with his mori infused might, the seven foot sharkman would clash and clank across the deck with the enemy captain before, with a vicious parry, the reaver lord of the south coast would smash the hilt of Saltspite's Accursed cutlass down with bone cracking force upon their head.
  719.
  720. "YE WON'T NEED IT YE SCURVY DOG."
  721.
  722. Black tendrils would extend forth from the inky coat of blackness that manifested his being as he triumphed in victory over the skeleton, attaining sovereignty over its calcium as the eyed tentacles searched for treasure in every nook and cranny they could stretch.
  723.
  724. It was good to be a pirate.
  725. (Maertock Reave)
  726. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  727.
  728. Andreas, ultimately, does what any archer does in close range! Dipping in and out of the shadows upon the enemy ship he'd fire arrow after arrow of mana. It's precursors, in truth, to the swipes of inky mana he cast upon the skeletons he rushed past.
  729.
  730. The issue with skeletons, though, is that they can't exactly be poisoned. With an annoyed click of his tongue he can only glare at the bones as the poison acts more as a weak acid against his targets.
  731.
  732. Regardless, the horned man continues to his shadowy assault from cover to cover. Occultic magic saps away what he can whilst he does his best to remain undamaged...
  733.
  734. It's... It's not that bad, honestly, and Andreas remains better for wear despite the harsh circumstances. Huffing and puffing as Maertock takes the last skeletal crewmate down he'd glance towards the stairs leading below deck...
  735.
  736. Loot. Following that siren call he dashes down in search of whatever treasures might be helpful for his legend.
  737. (Andreas)
  738. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  739.
  740. There would be no hesitation to the movement of Enki, not when there was a chance to lash out towards those that had ended up within the way of the crew.
  741.
  742. More bone men, perhaps cursed like they were, certainly suitable targets for his wrath as he joined those boarding the enemy vessel, cosmic magic striking out in turn.
  743.
  744. Cathartic in a way, to release any unbidden stress that had come from the sudden change within his body.
  745.
  746. "Yeah, this is what I was waiting for."
  747.
  748. Another skeleton to face, another clash of ivory bone as he fought with those that had appeared, before eventually the Deep Company found itself victorious.
  749.
  750. Plunder that didn't gain a second look, instead he idly roamed around the vessel until it was time to return to their own.
  751. (Enki)
  752. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  753.
  754. After stepping through his rift, the Task would raise RInn's Retort once more, and without an ounce of hesitation, his olive hues would flicker from skeleton, to skeleton.
  755.
  756. "So anyway." He'd utter, as he fired off a round of condensed occult mana into the crowd of undead. Then another, and another. "I started blasting." Round, after round soared from his rifle, and into the horde of skeleton crewmates.
  757.
  758. Until they were all dead!
  759.
  760. Or... Until they died again?
  761.
  762. With that, he'd grab anything that looked remotely valuable.
  763.
  764. "Loot. Loot. Loot."
  765. (Thanatos Task)
  766. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  767.
  768. Considering herself to be the crew's healer, Yana managed to keep herself safe during the fight, erupting the wooden deck with rocks and mysterious blossoms whenever the skeletons got too close.
  769.
  770. Truth be told, the Ookami had been missing some action. Watching the captain's performance was always fascinating. And now, finally getting to see the new Deep Company fight? Yana could forget the grudge for enjoying this a while.
  771.
  772. Cosmic magic. Riftmancy. She couldn't help but smirk and join in the lethal dance of battle, tearing apart the dry body of an undead with the help of her tendrils. Clack. The wicked sound it made sent Yana into a laughing fit!
  773.
  774. Once they were resting for good, she went back to the original mission-- finding clues about a cure for the skeleton disease while also keeping an eye open for magical goods.
  775. (Yana)
  776. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  777.
  778. It was a glorious battle! Descending from a portal, Lenalla found herself in the midst of a skeleton crew, literally! While she lived for the thrill of adventure and was metaphorically...and literally ravenous with gluttonous intent, something didn't' sit right with the lionfish.
  779.
  780. If they were turning into skeletons, and they are currently fighting skeletons, then likely the Pauper's Bride wasn't the first ship to be afflicted, and the Man-O-War likely won't be the last undead crew they will encounter.
  781.
  782. Either way, those were thoughts for later. Firing condensed water and poison from her pistol, Lenalla like out a predatory screech as she saw red and blasted away.
  783.
  784. When her battle rage washed away, one of her typhoons dissipated before her with another skeleton in tow. Catching a femur, Lenalla bit her needle like teeth into it, suckling the marrow as she when into scavenger mode, looting and keeping any shiny she came across.
  785. (Lenalla)
  786. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  787.
  788. Yana exclaims, "...Bones!"
  789. {NARRATION} .. Carnage!
  790.
  791. The group was tremendously powerful, as expected of the Deep Company!
  792. And after the onslaught, the looting, ..
  793.
  794. Everyone would feel their pockets swell tremendously with a wealth of coins, and even a shiny piece of Arcanium for the taking!
  795.
  796. .. Amongst the chaos, one strange vial of incandescent liquid is found.
  797. {NARRATION} .. Dear God Almighty!
  798.
  799. .. What a terrible substance! As you ingest it, you feel your whole body scrunching! Your bones rattling! Your feet tingling, and the hairs on the end of your neck just RISING!
  800.
  801. You would choke, gag, and all without a chuckle, and unfortunately, vomit up your lunch!
  802.
  803. .. The Liquor of the Damned comes with a heavy aurora of a drunkard with it.
  804.
  805.
  806. .. But in any case, you hope the powerful Ale has done something useful for you ..
  807. [20:47] {NARRATION} .. Your body begins to revert back to normal ..
  808.
  809.
  810. {NARRATION} (Feel free to follow as well!)
  811. She signaled for the crew to wait.
  812.
  813. Yana drank everything in a single big gulp. Just think it's milk, it's okay. Where in the world could a milk this rotten exist?
  814.
  815. Luckily for the most sensitive, the diplomat pulled her enormous back in a ponytail before chugging the drink, so all left to do was lean over the railing, a free hand scratching wood as Yana threw up.
  816.
  817. She stays silent for a long while, torso dipped over the sea until a dramatic turnaround!
  818.
  819. "I'm back!"
  820. (Yana)
  821. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  822.
  823. {NARRATION} .. Seeing the effects of the white potion in action, ..
  824. .. Or more like posion- given the very disgusting effects.
  825.
  826.
  827. .. The crew now departs that ransacked vessel and sinks it, after taking what looked valuable of course!
  828.
  829. Paintings, jewelry, and whatever other ornate things they could find!
  830.
  831. And with that, the enemy ship would sink.
  832. [20:56] {NARRATION} Enki would also find a spare rowboat in the back and sail home ..
  833.
  834. (A player has left the party!)
  835. {NARRATION} (Everyone wave Enki off! He has a case of sea-sickness!)
  836. Andreas exclaims, "BYE TEACH, SEE YA FOR SOME ROBBIN' LATER!"
  837. Maertock Reave says, "Don't drown Enki."
  838. Maertock Reave says, "Watch out for the sharks."
  839.
  840. {NARRATION} .. As the enemy ship would collapse, you'd notice a twinkle in the distance.
  841.
  842. .. Another vessel?
  843.
  844.
  845. ..No too small to be a ship.
  846.
  847. What .. IS that?
  848.
  849.
  850. If Reave says, "....."
  851. If Reave says, "Th'feck.."
  852. {NARRATION} You'd have to blink twice to miss it, but you truly couldn't believe your eyes.
  853.
  854. Either this was a mirage, or this truly was a strange act of fate!
  855.
  856. .. Regardless- you see a floating skull?!
  857.
  858. [Minigame!]
  859. If Reave says, "I.. Went to another universe.."
  860. {NARRATION}
  861.
  862. Destroy the Skull and earn a treat!
  863. [1 Round]
  864. Yana says, "...Thank you for killing me."
  865. Yana exclaims, "---? Bones!"
  866. If Reave exclaims, "Bones!"
  867. Yana says, "....I mean. A skull, interesting."
  868. If Reave says, "I'll give it a .."
  869. If Reave says, "I'll..."
  870. Andreas says, "*bites his tongue on yet another racist comment.*&"
  871. Lenalla exclaims, "Oi...this like that thing the oocult Achyon lady has, but bigger! Gimme yer marrow skull!"
  872. If Reave says, "give it a crack."
  873. Andreas bites his tongue on yet another racist comment.
  874. (Andreas)
  875. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  876.
  877. ] If Reave says, "Ayy"
  878. Thanatos opens fire upon the skull.
  879.
  880. "Die."
  881. (Thanatos Task)
  882. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  883.
  884. Andreas side-eyes the railgunning teacher as they aim towards the skull. With a light chuckle he'd draw his drawstring back.
  885.
  886. "Bet'cha I can aim better..."
  887. (Andreas)
  888. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  889.
  890. Maertock would shoot at the skull.
  891. (Maertock Reave)
  892. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  893. {Won Restrained RPB against PARTY SKULL}
  894. {LOAD GAME}
  895.
  896. {NARRATION} .. And in a puff of sparkle and confetti, the skull explodes!
  897.
  898. .. Strange world, huh.
  899.
  900. {NARRATION} Strange things afoot certainly, but they were nearing the end of this voyage.
  901.
  902. The closer the ship sailed the more it came in view. You would've certainly expected more, dark fog and such covetting the land. But as the ship approaches, you would finally come into view of a rather desolute land.
  903.
  904. Still a good hundred meters from the Island, you also catch a glimpse of some structures.
  905.
  906.
  907. .. A fortress?
  908. .. A Naval Fortress?
  909. } ----
  910.
  911. To the starboard, you catch wind of another ship, trying to flank your own!
  912.
  913. .. Not good. Caught between a Naval Fortress and another skeleton crew.
  914.
  915. Time to act once more.
  916.
  917. .. Once the defences are taken out, it'll be safe to dock!
  918.
  919. {NARRATION} .. You're now fighting a Fortress and a Skeleton Ship.
  920.
  921. Prepare for battle!
  922. If Reave says, "..."
  923. Yana exclaims, "Gwahahaha!"
  924. The moment the fortress was spotted, the Task would move towards his usual spot on the cannons.
  925.
  926. "Take out the fortress as quickly as possible. The ship should be a secondary priority."
  927.
  928. With that said, Thanatos would load up a regular cannonball into his cannon, before proudly proclaiming, "FIRE!" With that, the cannonball would soar through the air, and towards the naval fortress.
  929.
  930. Action: Firing a Regular Cannonball at the Naval Fortress.
  931. (Thanatos Task)
  932. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  933.
  934. Now cured of the weird skeleton disease, Yana is at her best. She never knew how incredible it could be to have limbs made of flesh! Feeling stronger than everyone at the crew, she is no longer hiding behind others with the reasonable excuse of being the healer.
  935.
  936. And now, a crew of laughable undead chose to cross her path again. The Ookami cackles triumphantly before firing a regular cannonball.
  937.
  938. "FIRE!"
  939. (Yana)
  940. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  941.
  942. From one little break into the other, the rotting goat-man can't help but squint as they're flanked. Of course his luck would run out some day-- Already he'd accepted such a fate as he found himself a villain of a legend. Infamy was equal to fame all the same.
  943.
  944. Yet, there's time to dwell on such issue later on.
  945.
  946. "Fuckin' fort 'n' a ship... Ain't this some shit," Andreas grumbled to no one in particular. Striding up towards the cannons he'd place a hand upon iron, his brow knitting as he soon called out to the Captain.
  947.
  948. "Ain't sure if'n s'a good idea, Captain, but figurin' we use a fire ball on the ship 'n' an earth one on the fortress-- Maybe an Occult ball, even." With his suggestion made he'd cock a brow, rectangles soon flicking towards the nearby barrel of ammunition.
  949.
  950. How many magic cannonballs did they even have right now..?
  951. (Andreas)
  952. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  953.
  954. Maertock would cackle with excitement as his hand returned behind the wheel of the dread ship. His webbed hands were securely around the wheel of the pirate ship, and the sight of the distant naval fortress to their front and an approaching skeleton ship to their back made clear the steps forward that needed to be taken.
  955.
  956. With a swivel of robes and ties, the sails would spread wide as he the Captain moved his tendrils forth to begin firing from the cannons.
  957.
  958. "WE CHARGE THE FORTRESS. IT'S GONNA BE A HOT LANDING, FIRE FOR EFFECT UPON THE SHORES. THE OTHER SHIP CAN WAIT FOR OUR ATTENTION."
  959. (Maertock Reave)
  960. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  961.
  962. Maertock Reave exclaims, "FIRE!"
  963. Andreas asks, "-- CAPTAIN THEY'RE STILL GON' BE ON US EVEN AT THE SHORES- D'ah FUCK IT, CAN WE AT LEAST GET SOME FIRE ON THE SHIP HWHILE WE'RE RAMMIN'?"
  964. Yana exclaims, "I WENT AHEAD AND DID THAT, DUH!"
  965. Andreas says, "A'IGHT, A'IGHT, DON'T FUCKIN' BITE ME, FUCK--"
  966. Maertock Reave says, "NO FEAR"
  967. Andreas skitters on up to a cannon and, lest an earth ball already be used, he'd fire one at the fortress.
  968. (Andreas)
  969. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  970.
  971. Maertock Reave says, "NONE."
  972. What a very strange journey indeed. But the quartermaster felt quite fine for the time being. Despite their slightly embarrassing moment of faltering before against the skeletal crew..
  973.
  974. Now they were quietly taking stock of precisely how much coin they'd gathered in valuables and other such things. If was good at what they did, despite not ever wanting to be the quartermaster. They only looked up from the ledger when there was mention of a fortress.
  975.
  976. They left that work for the time being, and hovered along to take up their own few cannons. Telekinesis aided their capabilities, and made it infinitely easier to swivel the cannon about to face their enemy.
  977.
  978. If targeted the.. Ship, since most everyone else was targeting the fortress, and the earth ball was being shot that way.
  979.
  980. ..What's an earth ball, even?
  981. (If Reave)
  982. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  983.
  984. Leaping at the skull, Lenalla's boney hands grasped something? Was the skull ever there in the first place? Either way, a nice shiny rock was now in her possession, it couldn't quell her hunger, but at least , she got another shiny.
  985.
  986. Albeit, the festivities didn't last, it seemed tat there was a fortress of all things blocking their back, but at this point, the lionfish had well realized that this was certainty no abandoned place. Now if the fortress patrons were alive or not was the question.
  987.
  988. With another skeleton ship approaching, the dead theory was more on her mind, as she ran to a cannon. Following orders, she swiveled it to the fortress.
  989.
  990. "FIRE!"
  991. (Lenalla)
  992. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  993.
  994. "DRAGON SHIP OF THE DAMNED"

1030. {NARRATION} .. A fearsome rumbling in the distance begins to deafen your ears! .. The Naval Fortress is firing mortar shots!
  1031.
  1032.
  1033. Look out!
  1034. (2 Shots!)
1035. {NARRATION} .. The Dragon Ship lines itself for a heavy broadside, TAKE COVER!!
  1036. Andreas exclaims, "RUH-ROH!"
  1037. {NARRATION} .. You see a spark coming- a Fireball?!
1038. Maertock Reave says, "ANDREAS WHY"
1039. Andreas says, "MY GOAT EYES SEE ALL, CAPTAIN."
1040. ]{NARRATION} .. Unfortunately, your ship has caught flame.
  1041.
1042. You need to extinguish the fire, or suffer extra damage!
1043. Thanatos Task exclaims, "IF, LENALLA!"
1044. Thanatos Task exclaims, "GET ON THE FLAMES!"
  1045. Lenalla exclaims, "On it!"
  1046.
  1047.
1048. .. Your ship is on fire!
  1049.
1050. (250 Damage if not extinguished next turn!)
  1051.
  1052.
  1053. You have 2770HP remaining!
1054. {NARRATION} .. The winds are in your favor, how will you respond?!
  1055. "SO ANYWAY."
  1056.
1057. It seems like Thanatos was about to repeat himself. OH boy. "I started BLASTING." Without an ounce of hesitation, the Task would let loose another cannonball!
  1058.
1059. Just a regular one though.
  1060.
  1061. "FIRE!"
  1062. (Thanatos Task)
  1063. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1064.
1065. How the fuck did he miss that badly!? Snarling, the goat-horned man just glances towards his Captain for orders. "'it 'em with a fire ball or repairs, Captain!? Migh' do well ta drain 'em a lil with an occult ball, even!"
  1066.
1067. Fuck if he knew, he was clambering for ideas. Glancing towards the rest he'd prepare to either start repairing or loading up the next cannonball...
  1068.
1069. Deep One grant him vision.
  1070. (Andreas)
  1071. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1072.
1073. With a whistle, Yana watches as the Fireball flies towards the Pauper's bird deck.
  1074.
1075. "Next time to fix is mine!"
  1076.
1077. Vines erupted from small pots set across the deck. Unlike other plants produced by her, those had small nubs that were light in color. They wrapped around the exposed deck of the Pauper's Bride, waiting for something.
  1078.
1079. As that went on, the Ookami was already loading another cannonball.
  1080. "FIRE!"
  1081. (Yana)
  1082. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1083.
1084. Maertock would cackle with cheer as the reaver lord of the south coast lowered his head at the presence of the broadside inflammation. The Captain of the Deep Company would bark out in cheer as he slapped his arcanic plate, truly feeling alive in the depths of the chaotic fluctuation of the tides.
  1085.
1086. The fortress remained to be bombarded, and yet the Captain steered the ship RIGHT FOR IT.
  1087.
1088. "I will handle keeping the ship together crew, ALL FIRE FOCUSED ON BRINGING DOWN THE DEFENSES. WE CAN'T FIGHT TWO BATTLES AT ONCE."
  1089.
1090. The Captain's black tendrils already clasped wooden boards and nails, hammers of solidified shadow manifesting to reinforce what wood was dislodged by the concussive force of the fire balls.
  1091.
  1092. "KEEP FOCUSED."
  1093. (Maertock Reave)
  1094. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1095.
1096. If was, thankfully, a skilled practitioner in the ways of abyssal magic. That meant ice cold waters, despite the inky black coloration. Where flames surged to life across the ship they were soon smothered by leaks in reality. Liquid shadow poured forth to consume the light and heat.
  1097.
1098. The quartermaster looked after this damn ship, they requisitioned the material for repairs, and they were not going to have it burning up on their watch damnit!
  1099. (If Reave)
  1100. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1101.
1102. Throwing a fist in the air after another goo hit, Lenalla it rocked her a little, ready to re man the cannon though, the lionfish spotted fires starting to spread on deck.
  1103.
1104. Readying her revolver and setting the barrel to 'water', she was ready to put it out, but saw If was on it. Turning her attention back to the cannon, she readied another shot.
  1105.
  1106. "FIRE!"
  1107. (Lenalla)
  1108. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1109.

  1150.
  1151.
  1152. (Remaining Stock)
  1153. 3 Fire Balls
  1154. 4 Occult Balls
  1155. 1 Earth balls
1156. ] "Fuckin' waves knockin' my damn shot low..." Andreas grumbled despite the clearly flaming ship! Snorting, he'd promptly load a regular cannonball before hollering out.
  1157.
1158. "GET A LOAD OF THIS!"
  1159.
1160. Aaaand he fires his shot...
  1161. (Andreas)
  1162. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1163.
1164. He said he was blasting, and that's exactly what he meant to do. Another cannon would be loaded, and mere moments later would it soar towards the enemy ship.
  1165.
  1166. "JUST SINK ALREADY, FUCKERS!"
  1167. (Thanatos Task)
  1168. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  1173.
1174. A glancing blow, damn! Lenalla needed to do better to hold the claim of best cannoneer of the Deep Company, another shot,
  1175.
  1176. "FIIRE!"
  1177. (Lenalla)
  1178. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1179.
1180. Maertock would take the lapse in the tides to use his chance at a clear shot upon the Dragon Ship. His blood was boiling from the frenetic excitement of it all, the invigored thrill of battle as the lapsed forth and back again in determination.
  1181.
1182. Condensing deep, inky blackness into his cannonball, the Captain would personally load it before releasing a black, smoky blast at the enemy ship.
  1183.
  1184. "Ready. AIM. FIRE!"
  1185.
  1186. (Dark cannonball)
  1187. (Maertock Reave)

  1191.
1192. No repairs needed? The vines would stay there, a mysterious thing for whoever hadn't witnessed Yana's way of taking care of the Pauper's bridgee before.
  1193.
1194. Another cannonball was fired at the burning ship, Yana letting out sparse laughter. Almost like the battle had been rigged.
  1195. (Yana)
  1196. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1197.
  1198.
  1199.

  1215.
  1216. 510 Damage!!!
1217. Andreas says, "-- 'OLY SHIT."
1218. If Reave says, "I'm on repairs lads."
1219. Yana exclaims, "I FUCKING TOLD YOU!"
1220. Lenalla asks, "Hit em back with our earthy balls?"
1221. {NARRATION} .. You get up, your head nearly taken off by cannon fire!

1226. Thanatos Task exclaims, "Someone ELSE should hop on repair too!"
1227. Andreas asks, "Migh' be good ta 'ave multiple on repairs! Fuckin' 'it this cunt with 'nother Occult ball or somethin'-- Shouldn't we save our earth balls for the fort?"
1228. Thanatos Task says, "The rest of us should keep firing-"
1229. Thanatos Task says, "Aye. Shoot another occult ball."
1230. Lenalla exclaims, "Dibs on the occult ball!"
1231. {NARRATION} .. You hear the Naval Fortress rumbling .. the next move can't be good ..
  1232. Thanatos Task says, "..."
1233. If Reave says, "That were some dirty balls."

  1237. Thanatos Task says, "Quickly."
  1238. Thanatos Task says, "Now."
1239. Andreas exclaims, "TAKE IT OUT!"
1240. Maertock Reave says, "Aye, I'll repair the ship with whoever else."
1241. Maertock Reave says, "EVERYONE ELSE"
1242. Maertock Reave says, "BRING DOWN THAT DRAGON WHORE SHIP"
1243. If Reave says, "I'm with ya cap."
1244. Yana drops a cannonball as quick as possible. What else did you expect?
  1245. (Yana)
  1246. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1247.
1248. The fortress was making a lot of noise, which could only mean ONE thing, the dragon ship needed to go down, and-
  1249.
1250. That's exactly what he'd aim to do.
  1251.
1252. "DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! FUCKER!"
  1253.
1254. Now to pray that his regular cannonball was enough to put the thing down.
  1255. (Thanatos Task)
  1256. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1257.
1258. Another glancing blow...she needs to her game! Quickly running over to load an occult ball, Lenlla fires.
  1259.
1260. "Feckin fall and let me claim another self proclaimed title!"
  1261. (Lenalla)
  1262. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1263.
1264. Andreas could barely keep back the bleat as the rumbling sounds from the naval fortress. Whatever the Hel was about to come out of there was something he didn't want to see. Sucking in air he'd rush out to prepare the next volley.
  1265.
1266. "C'MON YA SUM BITCH, GIT SOME! THE FUCKIN' DEEP'S WAITIN' FOR YA!"
  1267.
1268. Barked the Occultist who, honestly, could only pray the next shot ends it all.
  1269. (Andreas)
  1270. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1271.
1272. With the captain and themself working in tandem, there was supremely efficient repair done. If floated supplies too and fro where they were needed, allowing Maertock's shadowy tendrils to do a decent bit of the repair work as well.
  1273.
1274. He could draw things straight from the shadows, but If's telekinesis was still quite useful in putting the ship back together.
  1275. (If Reave)
  1276. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1277.
1278. Maertock would cackle with cheer as the insanity of the great naval battle upped its ante even further. The tremendous, earthquaking power of the the seismic cannonball damn near BROADSIDED the Pauper's Bride. It was frankly surprising that they hadn't been sunk by such a bombardment.
  1279.
1280. But the Reaver Lord of the South Coast was having the TIME OF HIS LIFE.
  1281.
1282. "KEEP FOCUSED. THE SHIP GOES DOWN, AND OUR LANDING IS SECURE."
  1283.
1284. With determination, black tendrils would stretch forth from Maertock as the ship was being held together by more and more nails and boards for reinforcement in place of more refined carpentry. They didn't have time look pretty, only to maintain the structural integrity of the ship.
  1285.
  1286. "FIRE!"
  1287.
  1288. (Repair)
  1289. (Maertock Reave)
  1290. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1291.
  1292.
  1293.
  1294. "SKULL FORTRESS"
  1295. "1,000/1,000 HP"
  1296.
  1297.
  1298. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1299.
1300. {NARRATION} A horrendous snapping comes through the air, as you see four volleys being shelled your way, a flaming cannon ball in one of them!
  1301.
  1302.
1303. The Naval Fortress unleashes a devestating barrage!
  1304.
1305. .. Unfortunately, your ship has caught fire!
  1306.
1307. It must be extinguished, or suffer a devestating blow! (250 DMG!)
  1308.
  1309. 110 DMG total!
  1310.
  1311.
  1312.
  1313.
  1314. ----
  1315. 3 Fire Balls
  1316. 2 Occult Balls
  1317. 1 Earth balls
  1318.
  1319. (Remaining Stock!)
1320. If stares at the burning ship. Then the fortress. Then the rest of the crew scrambling around. And in the midst of the chaos..
  1321.
  1322. If goes fishing.
  1323. (If Reave)
  1324. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1325.
1326. "Second verse, wait no, this is like the third verse ain't it."
  1327.
  1328. He'd shrug.
  1329.
1330. "Whatever fuck it. I was trying to say something clever, but I already forgot what it was. So fuck this, and fuck you too. God damn naval-" Odds are he's going to be grumbling obscenities to himself for a bit.
  1331.
  1332. Oh, and-
  1333.
  1334. He fires.
  1335. (Thanatos Task)
  1336. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1337.
1338. Hooting and hollering as the ship falls to ruins he'd raise his arms triumphantly over his head!.. Only to barely hear the crack of cannonfire from the fortress.
  1339.
1340. Whirling around he'd let out a scoff, "Y'know, I forgot 'bout 'em…" Shaking his head he'd rush towards the stock of fire-cannonballs and store the next one into his cannon. Aiming it a bit upwards he'd aim for the ramparts...
  1341.
1342. "Tear down 'em walls with that fuckin' earth one, Yana! S'all I can ask, miss!" Andreas pleaded before promptly firing his own fireball towards the defenses.
  1343. (Andreas)
  1344. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1345.
1346. Maertock's focus would immediately be upon the ship as it sparked forth with flame, the Captain of the Deep Company grimacing as he clicked his rows of serrated teeth together while catching If FISHING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INFERNO.
  1347.
1348. Shaking his head steadily, black fog would emit from his towering form as the frigid, abyssal cold began to actively swallow the life and light from the flames, focusing his black mana upon extinguishing them so they did not spread.
  1349.
1350. "Take out that installment BEFORE I BECOME DEAF."
  1351.
  1352. (Fire Patrol)
  1353. (Maertock Reave)
  1354. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1355.
1356. Watching her and Andreas cannoballs fire in tandem, Lenalla realized if she had used a regular one, then his would have hit just slightly better, but instead, she fucked up those skeletons real good.
  1357.
1358. "HA! I am Lenalla of the Southwest Clan, best cannoneer of the Deep Company!" quickly remembering that there was still another enemy, she loaded the cannon swiveled it towards the fortress.
  1359.
  1360. "FIRE!"
  1361. (Lenalla)
  1362. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1363.
1364. ...The battle reaches its crescendo and Yana welcomes it with her full heart, a grin in face! [small]However, it wasn't what she was quite looking for. No, it lacks close combat.[/small]
  1365.
1366. But of course, the underrated diplomat still ranked as 'pirate' in the guild's tab would be pushing an Earth ball into the cannon, green tendrils doing most of the weight-lifting job.
  1367. (Yana)
  1368. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1369.
1370. {NARRATION} Maertock extinguishes the flame!
  1371.
  1372.
1373. A spoil of War! Reave has found a Fireball in the water ...
  1374.
  1375. [136 DMG!]
  1376.
  1377.
  1378. Yana & Andreas!
  1379. /random 1 4, to bypass fortress resistance!
  1380.
1381. (2+ to set fortress ablaze)
  1382. (3+ to deal 300+ extra damage)
1383. {NARRATION} .. Unshakable Earth .. Their resistance has come into play, being a sturdy fortress!
  1384.
1385. .. The Fortress has been set ablaze!
  1386.
  1387.
  1388.
1389. {NARRATION} Cannons armed, it fires a volley your way!
  1390.
1391. .. You see two Occult balls!
1392. .. And one normal cannon shot!
  1393.
1394. Maertock Reave says, "ALL CREW, FIRE ON THE FORTRESS"
1395. "Hey look at that, a fireball, underwater." The quartermaster pointed it out. But then.. Everyone else was busy. So they let out a quiet sigh, and waved one hand to load the nearest cannon. They fired upon the fortress soon afterward.
  1396. (If Reave)
  1397. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1398.
1399. "AYE!" Hollered the farmhand as he rushed to grab his next cannonball. Were it not for the shadows at his beck and call this would've been far harder to lift... Yet, the shadows lurched outwards to help push it into place.
  1400.
1401. Who knew shadowy tentacles were that helpful?
  1402.
  1403. "FIRIN'!"
  1404. (Andreas)
  1405. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1406.
1407. Maertock was also a skeleton, and did not adjust for the levels of calcium in his present weight. His handling of the recoil was off, and he barely hit the side of the fortress as he cursed under his breathe.
  1408.
1409. "I MAY NEED GLASSES. BUT THAT FORTRESS WON'T!"
  1410.
  1411. Maertock would growl.
  1412.
1413. "DOWN WITH IT'S WALLS. SINK THEM."
  1414. (Maertock Reave)
  1415. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1416.
1417. Maertock didn't need to tell her to. After taking cover, Yana rushed back into the cannon, pushing another cannonball the fortress' way.
  1418. (Yana)
  1419. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1420.
  1421. "Aye-aye captain!"
  1422.
1423. Without an ounce of hesitation, the Vice-Captain, would unleash another volley of cannonballs.
  1424.
  1425. "Come on. COME on."
  1426. (Thanatos Task)
  1427. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1428.
1429. [22:25] Not needing to hear twice after the captain, Lenalla got locked and loaded with the cannon.
  1430.
  1431. "FIRE"
  1432. (Lenalla)
  1433. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1434.
  1435. [22:27] {NARRATION} Reave - 36 DMG!
  1436. Andreas 82 DMG!
  1437. Maertock - 16 DMG! (lol)
1438. Yana - 99 DAMAGE CRITICAL HIT LET'S GO BABY (+50 extra damage!)
  1439. Thanatos- 87 DAMAGE!
  1440. Lenalla - 23 DMG!
  1441.
  1442.
1443. ... You hear a low rumbling, followed by an explosion in the Fortress ..
  1444. (250 Fire Damage ..!)
  1445.
  1446.
  1447.
  1448. 643 DAMAGE TOTAL!
  1449. [22:27] {NARRATION} Fortress- 135HP remaining!
  1450.
  1451.
  1452. .. You see a white flag erected a top a pole ..
1453. Maertock Reave says, "NO MERCY IN THE OCEAN"
1454. Andreas says, "... Lemme fish, fire on 'em."
1455. Maertock Reave says, "SINK THEM"
1456. {NARRATION} .. You've chosen to sink the defenseless fortress.
  1457.
  1458.
  1459. [RP Maurading.]
  1460. Maertock Reave says, "Cowards"
1461. Andreas, honestly, couldn't care more about what happened to the fortress on the next volley. Turning heel he'd briefly cast a line into the ocean to see if he can even get anything first off!
  1462.
1463. … If that's not possible, though, he'd join the rush onto those sandy shores. Whether it be through Thanatos' rift (if it's conjured up) or stalking through the shadows, Andreas seeks to fill his pockets all the more.
  1464.
1465. The Deep One would have a small snack on this night.
  1466. (Andreas)
  1467. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1468.
1469. {NARRATION} .. Cutlass at the ready, you send the bastards to Hell your own way.
  1470.
  1471. [https://youtu.be/EAMhCKsvxOA]
  1472. [22:32] "Good work, everyone."
  1473.
1474. Similarly to their first boarding trip, two shots would be fired, and two rifts would be opened up for the crew to pass through one ship, and to the other.
  1475.
1476. Once on the other ship, Rinn's Retort would begin to unload round, after round upon the crew.
  1477.
1478. "Now let's send these bastards to the Abyss."
  1479. (Thanatos Task)
  1480. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1481.
1482. The giant shark skeleton would cackle with fell cheer as he slapped his mighty ribcage. The Pauper's Bride was directed to land upon the coastline as the cannons were fired in a brutal volley upon the surrendering fortress, laying waste to broken defenses and slaughtering resistance.
  1483.
1484. A dark cackle as Maertock raised the dread blade of Saltspite up high with cheer.
  1485.
1486. "YOU MUST HAVE MISUNDERSTOOD. WE ARE THE DEEP COMPANY, AND OURS IS ALWAYS THE LAST LAUGH! BAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!"
  1487.
1488. Without delay, the Captain turned into flowing, inky shadows as he moved to land upon the fortress shoreline to bring end to their meddling on his RECREATIONAL DEADLY KRAKEN HUNT AT LAST!
  1489. (Maertock Reave)
  1490. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1491.
1492. The quartermaster stashed the fireball away, and looked across the others present. The fortress seemed on its last legs. Bare bones in the way of defense.
  1493.
1494. Perhaps they hadn't actually met the inhabitants before, but soon they would cal-see-em.
  1495.
1496. … That one was a bit of a stretch.
  1497.
1498. If didn't need the rift to carry them over, but they dove through regardless, making use of what was available to them to immediately start wreaking havoc. They were the smokescreen for the rest of the crew, casting the fortress into darkness that they allowed their crewmates to peer through with ease.
  1499. (If Reave)
  1500. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1501.
1502. White flag, why would they raise a white flag, what does that mean? The concept of symbolic surrender was lost on the lionfish. Even if she did know, it was not like he was going to relent anyways.
  1503.
1504. Noticing her legs to be a lot less fleshy, the lionfish has an idea. "Sorry Than, got another idea fer transport. The best cannoneer of the Deep Company way!"
  1505.
1506. Sad she's still calling herself that after Yana's performance. None the less, Lenalla directed the cannon to her target, lit it, and hopped in for the ride.
  1507. (Lenalla)
  1508. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1509.
  1510. "GWA-HA-HA-HAHA!"
  1511.
1512. The battle ended soon, and Yana couldn't help but let out a tired sigh. After firing a record amount of critical fireballs, recovering her body, sharing an evil laughter with Maertock and destroying a big chewy toy, there could be only few stuff to make the Ookami feel any better.
  1513.
1514. ...And of course, that would be taking a good look at a nice blank canvas. Give poor Yana a break, she's been single and eccentric for almost eight years now! But of course looting magical artifacts is cool too.
  1515.
1516. Like always, Yana doesn't partake in torturing the remaining enemies in any way. The kills are swift and most certainly painless, her medical experience serving as good knowledge about where to cut or bend.
  1517. (Yana)
  1518. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  1526.
  1527. Maertock - 6 - safe
  1528. If Reave - safe
  1529.
  1530. {NARRATION} Lenalla - 4 Day Temp ..
  1531.
1532. The fortress was slowly flooded with inky black. If simply let it spill into the world, tar-like sludge running across the floors and smokey black filling the corridors. It was hard to breathe, for any who had lungs.
  1533.
1534. Funny enough, being a skeleton rather helped with that. The quartermaster grinned- Though they couldn't actually stop grinning in all fairness. They didn't have the lips to do so. Each time they came across an inhabitant of the fort they leveled the mithril barrel of Murtock's old pistol, and pow.
  1535.
  1536. Right through the skull.
  1537.
1538. It was only when the party came across the 'fortress guardian' that they had any further difficulties. Wave after wave of flame, it made for a difficult fight. In the smoke-filled halls one might've choked.
  1539.
1540. But If finally offered something a bit more, as they found challenge in this foe. They channeled their power through that damnable stone.
  1541.
1542. It was only enough to give a second wind to those who entered the limited area it covered. But it was enough of a boost that the fight was handled from there on in. And so, to avoid injury..
  1543.
1544. If went and loot-whored. Because they were the quartermaster, and they were supposed to keep track of loot.
  1545. (If Reave)
  1546. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1547.
1548. Thankfully, this was somewhere he thrived.
  1549.
1550. There were two targets he could go after during this fight. Rushing between the shadows amongst the shore he'd split his shots between the gathered forces. Each downed foe was another soul drifting towards the Deep one, and with each downed foe he felt more alive.
  1551.
1552. A breathy chuckle slips forth from the archer as he snakes his way towards Thanatos' rifts. Yet again his combat resumes its usual ebb and flow-- Amongst the ship he grabs and slams the skeletons into the ship's deck, a shadowy tentacle gripping and crushing the bones of his prey.
  1553.
1554. The unliving would meet the one below all the same.
  1555.
1556. Yet, in due time the battle is fully won. Blinking away from the ship he'd travel through the rift back into the fortress. Skulking out from the shadows of the inner fortifications he'd let loose arrow after arrow of malefic magic.
  1557.
1558. All until the only sound in the air is the crackling of burning fortifications and housing alike.
  1559.
1560. A deep breath is brought in as he soaks up the yearned thrill of violence. This was what they wanted-- Though he had his own pleasures to fulfill all the same. Looking for the nearest building he'd rush towards it and kick in the door.
  1561.
1562. Loot had to be somewhere. There must always be more to a legend's tale.
  1563. (Andreas)
  1564. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1565.
1566. Maertock was having the time of his skeleton pirate life. This was what he LIVED FOR. Fearless reaving, relentless destruction, endless enemies to face in the heat of danger as the fortress was assailed by none less than the DEEP COMPANY.
  1567.
1568. Naturally as befit his station as captain, he'd carve his way through the fortress like a shadow on the wall, seeking out the commander to engage in a brutal clash of blades. Skeleton shark to ancient skeleton; all cursed by this consumed land of the deep where the dead did not rest.
  1569.
1570. What a helluva place for a FAMILY VACATION.
  1571.
1572. The towering skeleton Maertock faced blasted forth a piercing, pressurized shot of cursed blood; only narrowly avoided by Maertock's reactive shadows as he breathed heavily before his guard was smashed down.
  1573.
1574. Carving into the heaving slab of calcium that stood before him, he'd deal countless, titanic blows before his own guard was broken by a barrel being smashed over his head.
  1575.
1576. Narrowly saved as Thanatos finished the job once and for all.
  1577.
1578. Taking a deep breathe as he rose from the ground, dusting off his form as he chuckled dryly while scratching where his gills would have been if he was not cursed, his tentacles would begin to stretch out and explore the depths of the fortress for anything of worth AS A PIRATE DID.
  1579.
  1580. "YOU HAVE BEEN SUNK."
  1581. (Maertock Reave)
  1582. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1583.
1584. It was time to go nuts.
  1585.
1586. Thanatos knew the very moment that he had arrived upon the ship that it was his moment to shine, and sure, while his crewmates certainly helped him, the Task was the one to finish things off once, and for all.
  1587.
  1588. How'd he do it?
  1589.
  1590. With style of course.
  1591.
1592. Round after round would soar out from his rifle, tearing open rifts all across the ship. One after the other, as the very world around them began to howl out in agony. "Oh boy, oh boy. I've been wanting to do this for ages now."
  1593.
1594. The Task would slip into the shadows once he had formed what he deemed to be an acceptable amount of rifts. Why? Well, to avoid gunshots, and to allow Rinn's Retort the proper amount of time to charge for one giant wave of condensed occult mana.
  1595.
1596. And once it was charged, the a wide grin would creep across the Task's countenance, as he let loose a maddening cackle. "BANG!" With that a condensed beam of the inky occult mana would be let loose, and boy, oh boy would that son of a bit soar.
  1597.
1598. Right through one of the skeleton crew, and into a rift, where it would soar out of, and crash into another skeleton, and then- You get the point. The beam pops out of the rift, kills a thing, and soars through another rift.
  1599.
1600. Over, and over again, until the enemy crew was nothing but ash. Then, and only then would the rifts, bar the one they needed to return to the pauper's bride, would close.
  1601.
  1602. "RIGHT! Time to loot."
  1603. (Thanatos Task)
  1604. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1605.
1606. Maertock Reave says, "Take it."
  1607. If Reave asks, "Eh?"
1608. Maertock Reave says, "A captain goes last before his crew."
1609. If Reave says, "Aight. Than ya up."
1610. Thanatos Task says, "Fraid not."
1611. Thanatos Task says, "I go second to last."
1612. Thanatos Task says, "Vice-Captain, and all that."
1613. Thanatos Task says, "Andreas. Be free."
1614. Maertock Reave says, "It's true."
1615. If Reave says, "There were two."
1616. Andreas says, "... O', I was 'lready gon' drink it."
1617. Thanatos Task says, "Oh. Then Lenalla can have it."
1618. Maertock Reave says, "As the Leibos, it's Andreas turn."
  1619. If Reave says, "Vice-captain."
  1620.
1621. Taking the lives of flesh devoid enemies wasn't exactly the battle Yana was looking for, either. She entered the fortress accompanied by three vines that would soon find a resisting target. Knowing this being would be cursed with the form of a skeleton forever made entangling them within the mass of green easier until the deed had to be done.
  1622.
1623. ...And of course, the domineering tendril crushed the skull in its embrace while the two auxiliary ones held the unsightly body in place.
  1624.
1625. Ensuing this, the diplomat ran across the mysterious fortress, back to the objective of looting something that would ensure her earth magic was top notch. Sometime during the scavenging, Yana heard the crewmates' screaming echo through the building and chuckled along it. Outside, rain poured.
  1626. (Yana)
  1627. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1628.
1629. [23:02] Yana says, "You're such big babies."
1630. [23:02] Andreas says, "Hwhat? I was gon' drink mine 'nyway."
1631. [23:02] Yana asks, "Oi, Maertock. What would Murtock think?"
1632. [23:03] If Reave asks, ".. Eh, Murtock?"
1633. [23:03] If Reave asks, "What would ya think?"
1634. [23:03] Yana asks, "You asked me the same, didn't you?"
  1635. [23:03] If Reave asks, ".. Eh?"
1636. [23:03] Yana says, "Mhm! When I had to drink that suspicious looking cure."
1637. [23:04] Maertock Reave says, "Murtock would think being a half skeleton half metal shark is really cool."
1638. [23:04] Maertock Reave says, "But Murtock also had a woman. That is not my perogative."
1639. [23:04] If Reave asks, ".. That right?"
1640. [23:05] Yana says, "Maertock! You could have any woman if you wanted to."
1641. [23:05] Yana asks, "Want me to start matchmaking for you?"
1642. [23:05] Yana says, "I'm the best matchmaker."
1643. [23:05] ...Actually last time she matchmaked for someone, If ended up killing that person.
  1644. (Yana)
  1645. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1646.
1647. [23:05] Maertock Reave says, "ABSOLUTELY NOT."
1648. [23:06] If Reave says, "Hah.."
1649. [23:06] Maertock Reave says, "I am a content, thirty two year old reaver lord"
1650. [23:06] Maertock Reave says, "My love is the ocean."
1651. [23:06] Yana says, "Come on! We could have flyers like that one Tal had."
1652. [23:06] Launching herself out of the cannon, Lenalla sky rocketed right into enemy territory. Normally one to fight from a distance, she found herself right in the midst of everything.
  1653.
1654. Firing in immediately, condensed poison and water came raining out as she rapid switched on her revolver. Manifesting her spirit Lumos nearby back, he kept the aid up while she bobbed and weaved firing off at the skeletons.
  1655.
1656. All that was in her way from reaching the outskirts of the battle again was one last accursed sailor. Attempting a feint step, she nearly made it, until a searing pain entered her left thigh.
  1657.
1658. Looking down she sees a gash, through her pants. Shit, if only that was skeletal. Thudding into the sand. As the sailor came its way to her phantasmal tidal blades begin swirling around her, cutting the damned sailor limb from limb.
  1659.
1660. Blinking for a moment, she got up, blades still swirling around her. Looking around, it seemed the battle is over. Snagging one of the sailors arms, she began casually munching on it.
  1661.
1662. "Hey guys, do ya see this goo shit! Oh and am I drinkin the thing or not? Because I will."
  1663. (Lenalla)
  1664. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1665.
1666. {NARRATION} .. With that swig, and the looting- the Deep Company had now finally disembarked upon the island.
  1667.
1668. Destruction and devestation lay at port. It wasn't easy having to smash through those defenses.
  1669.
1670. .. And so heavily armed for a black-listed island, even if its only inhabitants are Occultic remnants.
  1671.
1672. .. Still, the projection of such ability? Not good.
  1673.
1674. This was it now, they were in the den of the beast. Offloading the ships, all that remained left was the Kraken.
1675. [23:10] Andreas is absolutely hurling over the railing as he ingests the liquor.
  1676. (Andreas)
  1677. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1678.
1679. {NARRATION} .. The group would begin voyaging through jungle. It seemed like such a strange setting, barren and cold.
  1680.
1681. Above them high were sprawls of beautiful trees untouched by man.
  1682.
1683. And below, the Earth so festered in vines and so wetted by the slough of the rain. The mud caked their feet as they traversed.
1684. Regardless of the terrain, Andreas remains floating as they drift forth. Pulses of Occultic mana keep him afloat as those rectangular pupils scan the area about them. Trees, vines, earth...
  1685.
1686. It was all gorgeous, perhaps the Dryad would've liked to see this.
  1687.
1688. Yet it's the cold that concerned him a fair bit. Such temperatures were familiar to those nightly prayers he did deep within the cove. Drifting forth he'd keep his bow readied at his side.
  1689. (Andreas)
  1690. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1691.
1692. The alchemist hovered through the jungles, unbothered by plantlife and insects alike. An aura of gravitational force radiated from them, pressing anything that got too close to them away from their body. Their skeletal body. Their armor felt oddly hollow with them solely being all skin and bones.
  1693.
1694. But they marched on regardless. Not marching a single step. Crimson eyes scanned the area, seeking any sign of potential hostility. Or anything worthwhile to loot.
  1695.
1696. Overall.. They followed Maertock's lead.
  1697. (If Reave)
  1698. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1699.
1700. With the flesh restored to Lenalla's body, and the would in her thigh healed up, the pirate finished up her arm, not quite sating her gluttony, but holding her off from thinking with her stomach first.
  1701.
1702. Not wanting to dredge in the trodden muck that will slow her down, Lenalla followed suit and began floating.
  1703.
1704. Now she could do some real sight seeing! Her mouth remained slightly agape as she took in the nature around her. She's been in jungles, but nothing like this. Its like out of her fairytale books, but an enchanted forest or an evil lair? Likely the latter.
  1705. (Lenalla)
  1706. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1707.
1708. Maertock would take his time to explore the depths of the fortress with a lap of victory, cutlass of Saltspite held tightly in hand in case of a rogue ambush by any form of skeleton burly or lithe. He'd come to expect them as simply a natural setting at this point all things considered.
  1709.
1710. Yet, it was clear after a time that the only path was forward; the jungle in the depths of this dark fog of undeath could only be that of the lowest beast of the Mori's brood. The captain could smell it in the air.
  1711.
1712. Or maybe he couldn't actually. He was a skeleton. He really wished he had more time to test what kind of skeleton things he could do; but in truth he needed a drink. Still, the necromantic potential of such a curse had hardly gotten a chance to be explored; his technique was slacking in comparison to his mentors after all.
  1713.
1714. As the jungle took their passage, they moved forth without fear.
  1715.
1716. "No fear. We find its lair. It needs tokeep its treasure and land prey somewhere. Perhaps a cave connected to the sea....this is a cursed land indeed.....ohohohohohohoho…"
  1717. (Maertock Reave)
  1718. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1719.
1720. Surrounded by a jungle that reminded her of a place she was no longer accepted at, Yana took her time walking and getting positively dirty in the mud.
  1721.
1722. Insects were gently blew away once noticed. All tree trunks received a lovable gaze. In a place so prone to life, the Ookami couldn't get in a bad mood, even if it was raining. A large leaf is smartly turned into makeshift cover as Yana goes further into the woods.
  1723.
1724. "Are you bothered already?" The Motali would tease.
  1725. (Yana)
  1726. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1727.
1728. Feathered by the surroundings, the group would uncover a stone of some sort.
  1729.
1730. The markings on it seemed .. oddly familiar? Rune stones, no doubt- but in a language so closely intertwined with the Divine-
  1731.
1732. .. And yet so bastardized with wickedness.
  1733.
1734. A proper inferencing would reveal that it is hardly the work of benevolent divinity, and more so the tongue of wrathful beasts.
  1735.
1736. Yet? .. So estranged from anything that would give way to an entrance.
  1737.
1738. No caves. No trails. Just ... a clearing.
  1739. [23:24] {NARRATION} - - - - - -
1740. Perhaps the best choice would be to inspect their surroundings?
1741. Andreas asks, "... A'ight, who can read runes?"
  1742. Maertock Reave says, "..."
  1743. Thanatos Task says, "...."
1744. Thanatos Task asks, "I can kinda?"
1745. Maertock Reave says, "Close enough."
1746. If Reave says, "Vesper taught me."
  1747. If Reave says, ".."
1748. Thanatos Task says, "S'mostly just rift related runes that I can read."
1749. Thanatos Task says, "Which I ain't think these are."
1750. If Reave says, "'Fact I memorized th'whole runic alphabet."
1751. If Reave says, "So uh.."
  1752. Andreas says, "... Huh."
1753. Maertock Reave says, "Take a gander of our surroundings."
1754. Lenalla says, "Okay If, we get it, ya want ta read em'"
1755. The Task shrugs, as he moved to go inspect the strange, probably cursed, runes. What could possibly go wrong?
  1756.
  1757. "HHhhhhmmmmmm."
  1758.
1759. He'd blink a few times, as he tried to see if any of them stuck out to him.
  1760. (Thanatos Task)
  1761. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1762.
1763. They didn't bother responding to Lenalla's ribbing. Nor did they pay too much attention to Than's own scanning of the runework. The alchemist approached, instead, and slowly took in the sights they saw.
  1764.
1765. Vesper had called runework the language of angels. This held a darker twist, similar yet foreign to their own little spin on things. When If wrote runework it invoked the Deep One as their source of power more oft than not. So that's where they started.
  1766.
1767. If studied the runework and their surroundings, seeking any hint as to the origin of the runes and what they might do if activated.
  1768. (If Reave)
  1769. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1770.
1771. {NARRATION} .. As you approach the runes, an ominous glow begins to emit.
  1772.
1773. You have four minutes remaining.
  1774. {NARRATION} --- Rune Anagram Puzzle! ----
  1775. {NARRATION} Instructions:
1776. That was easy. Way too easy. With a broad gesture of a hand, Yana summoned forth the three vines from earlier.
  1777.
1778. "I will look for traps. Beware of your surroundings."
  1779.
1780. The butt of her staff serving as a walking cane, Yana poked the mud around her feet. The vines did the most dangerous part of the job, and that was walking in front and poking stuff.
  1781. (Yana)
  1782. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1783.
1784. {NARRATION} .. Before you is a scrambled set of runes!
  1785.
1786. Translate them, and then unscramble the word!
  1787.
1788. When you think you have the answer, shout it out!
  1789.
1790. For example: {NARRATION} Four minutes remain.
  1791. Maertock Reave says, "E R"
  1792. Maertock Reave says, "S"
  1793. Andreas says, "Uh... E-r-s-d..."
  1794. If Reave says, "M"
  1795. Maertock Reave says, "D"
1796. {NARRATION} Three minutes, thirty seconds.
  1797. Yana says, "a d e r s m."
  1798. Andreas says, "Ersdam..."
  1799. Yana exclaims, "DREAMS!"
  1800. If Reave says, "Dreams"
  1801. Andreas says, "Drea--"
  1802. {NARRATION} Three minutes remain-
  1803. Maertock Reave says, "DREAMS"
  1804. {NARRATION} Solved.
  1805. Yana exclaims, "Hah. Hahaha!"
  1806. Lenalla exclaims, "Dreams!"
1807. Maertock Reave says, "GO FUCKING TEAM"
1808. Thanatos Task says, "Good work."
1809. Maertock Reave says, "WAIT THE MAP SAID THIS"
1810. {NARRATION} As you begin working the runes, a mist begins to overtake you.
  1811.
  1812. Uh oh.
  1813. Yana says, "NOT AGAIN---"
1814. Andreas says, "... Ah shit, 'ere we go 'gain."
  1815. {NARRATION} Dreams.
  1816.
  1817.
  1818.
1819. {NARRATION} As the phrase is spoken, the world begins to shift, and you feel a heavy lethargy overtaking your body ..
  1820.
  1821.
1822. .. You awake, though- not as you'd expect ..
  1823.
1824. You feel lifeless. You don't even feel as if you're really here.
  1825. .. Where are we?
  1826.
  1827.
1828. Maertock would click his rows of serrated teeth together with satisfaction at a solved riddle.
  1829.
1830. And then it was black. Cold. Without light or life. Deep in the depths of his inner mindscape, it was almost as if his whole life had been a dream.
  1831.
1832. A distant lullaby sounded, a soft siren song. It sounded tired, as if the box had been spun so very long.
  1833.
  1834. Drifting in the cold....alone.
  1835.
1836. Shadows dispersed, blackness and coldness without sense. Was this to be the ocean?
  1837. (Maertock Reave)
  1838. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1839.
1840. This felt very familiar, honestly. There came the wooziness and stumbling from the pirate as the world grew heavier. How did he always manage to get into these kinds of sports again?
  1841.
1842. "Fuckin'... 'ere we go--" Andreas couldn't finish it before he felt the cold ground beneath his crown.
  1843.
  1844. Void.
  1845.
1846. Weightlessness is what came first to his mind as he tried to pry his eyes open. Hands clamber outwards to try and grab hold of something, his feet sending an Occultic pulse to keep himself balanced in the air. There was bound to be some form of familiarity here...
  1847.
1848. Rectangles peel about his surroundings as the shadows from his cloak draw it in tight against his frame. If he was to be within any form of cold, he'd rather it be within his own.
  1849. (Andreas)
  1850. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1851.
1852. If grumbled something about anxiety and working under pressure as the mist over took them. But they didn't linger on that for long, as their gaze met a whole new world.
  1853.
1854. They had, for a time, felt like they weighed a skele-ton, but now.. Well nothing much had changed. They had felt lifeless before. A shell of their former self. This place only amplified the feeling to the nth degree.
  1855.
  1856. Where were they?
  1857.
1858. The quartermaster drew their pistol, for a measure of safety against the unknown. Crimson eyes scanned every which way, looking for any sign of.. Anything, really. In the end they floated closer to the crew, keeping near the few things that made some sort of sense.
  1859.
1860. It was the best strategy they had in this unknown plane.
  1861. (If Reave)
  1862. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1863.
1864. To say Yana is unfamiliar with those dreamy feelings is a lie.
  1865.
1866. When Bahs was still around, they used to smoke absolutely everything that could be rolled into a small joint. Experiments led to good, bad and sometimes terrible scenarios.
  1867.
1868. So when the world begun to shift, Yana supposed whatever was in the liquor that cured her started taking action. In these moments, she found best to get a grip of reality and drink loads of water. However, that wasn't really possible at the moment and soon she started getting way too philosophical.
  1869.
1870. "Is this the end of my performance? If so, where is Kim? Are the curtains down yet?"
  1871. (Yana)
  1872. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1873.
1874. The world shifted around him, and for the first time on this adventure, the Task felt a wave of lethargy rush across him. Emerald hues slowly found themselves closing, and before he knew it, he was out like a light.
  1875.
1876. Or at least, he thought he was.
  1877.
1878. The next moment, he had awakened in an all too familiar location, or at the very least it felt familiar.
  1879.
  1880. It was the abyss.
  1881.
1882. Or what his mind perceived to be it. Odds are, it was something else entirely, but the sensation was similar.
  1883.
1884. He was falling. No, not falling. He was sinking deeper, and deeper into the Abyss.
  1885.
1886. It felt just like when the Deep One had claimed him for the first time.
  1887. (Thanatos Task)
  1888. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1889.
1890. Lenalla and the crew seemed to solve that tablet pretty easily, nothing stops the Deep Company! Except for mysterious fogs, that one has seemingly been a consistent crutch for the crew this adventure.
  1891.
1892. Looking around, Lenalla scratched her head, causing her spines to bristle. What was this eternal emptiness? Did the fog kill them, or they on deaths door? The murky chill of the void? Perhaps this was something beyond death.
  1893.
1894. Floating aimlessly through it, Lenalla kept a hand over her pistol incase a quickdraw was needed.
  1895.
1896. "Thought krakens lived in ocean coves an' stuff, did we make a wrong turn, or are we in the belly o' the beast?"
  1897.
  1898.
  1899. (Lenalla)
  1900. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1901.
1902. {NARRATION} The group all made their own inferences, their own reactions.
  1903.
1904. It was unclear where they were- this dreamlike surrealist state.
1905. It wasn't even clear if they were fully conscious.
  1906.
1907. However, one thing was certain of course.
  1908. {NARRATION} ---
1909. They needed to help Thanatos, as they were currently being strangled.
1910. ] Andreas says, "... Huh, good on ya Teach. S'chosen ya."
  1911. Thanatos was dying.
  1912. (Thanatos Task)
  1913. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1914.
1915. [23:46] {NARRATION} [The beast was ready to feed.]
  1916.
  1917.
  1918. [Phase 1, 3 rounds]
1919. If Reave says, "Awwww.. Guess we'll need a new first mate if he dies.."
  1920. If Reave says, "Fuck."
1921. Maertock Reave says, "WELP. LET'S NOT"
  1922. Yana says, "U-Uh."
1923. Andreas says, "... Wait-- I thought I was first mate these day-- N'AW FUCK IT."
  1924. If Reave says, "..."
1925. If Reave says, "Ya -what-"
1926. Lenalla exclaims, "We got that Than!"
1927. Maertock Reave says, "Andreas takes nigh shifts."
1928. If Reave says, "Hold th'feckin-"
  1929. Thanatos Task says, "Shut."
  1930. Thanatos Task says, "Fuck."
  1931. Thanatos Task says, "Kill."
  1932. Thanatos Task says, "KILL>"
1933. Andreas exclaims, "Migh' s'well-- S'WHAT CAPTAIN SAID!"
1934. Andreas exclaims, "NOT ME! 'E SAID IT..!"
1935. If Reave exclaims, "How in th'shite does THAT make any SENSE?!"
  1936. Thanatos Task says, "SHUT."
  1937. Thanatos Task says, "FUCK."
1938. If Reave says, "Why's th'GOAT of all people-"
1939. Thanatos Task exclaims, "KILL IT!"
1940. Thanatos Task exclaims, "I DON'T WANT TO DIE!"
1941. Maertock Reave says, "WE DIDN'T BECOME PIRATES FOR SENSE."
1942. If Reave says, "Shut UP THAN"
1943. Thanatos Task exclaims, "MAKE ME BITCH!"
1944. Andreas asks, "I'UNNO, I JUS' SHOOT SHIT. WHO'S BEEN RAKIN' IN YA COIN, IF?"
1945. If Reave says, "YA DYIN"
1946. Thanatos Task exclaims, "I AIN'T FEEL LIKE DYIN' JUST YET!"
  1947. Maertock Reave says, "FOCUS"
1948. If Reave says, "This discussion ain't over."
1949. Andreas exclaims, "Fine by me!"
1950. Thanatos Task exclaims, "Save it until the KRAKEN IS FUCKING DEAD!"
1951. Thanatos Task exclaims, "AND I'M STILL THE FIRST FUCKING MATE!"
1952. Andreas exclaims, "YA AIN'T BEEN 'ERE TA BE ONE, TEACH!"
1953. Yana exclaims, "NO! MURTOCK IS!"
  1954. If Reave says, "After."
1955. Maertock Reave says, "IT SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT DISCUSSION FOR YOU THREE TO SHOOT EACH OTHER OVER"
1956. If Reave says, "We'll have."
1957. If Reave says, "A talk."
1958. Maertock Reave says, "FOR WHOSE FIRST MATE"
1959. Maertock Reave says, "IF WE DON'T DIE"
  1960. Maertock Reave says, "SHUT"
  1961. Maertock Reave says, "FUCK"
1962. If Reave says, "Someone could've -TOLD ME-"
1963. If Reave says, "If nothin' feckin else."
1964. Maertock Reave says, "WHILE FAIR"
1965. Andreas exclaims, "IF, I'M TRYIN'A FIGURE IT OUT NOW TOO.-- TENTACLE FIRST, TALKIN' LATER!"
1966. Maertock Reave says, "ALSO FUNNIER THIS WAY"
  1967. Tentacle says, "ahghhghffgh"
1968. If Reave exclaims, "YA AN ASS MAERTOCK!"
1969. Maertock Reave says, "THE ASS"
  1970. {Won Dangerous RPB against Tentacle}
  1971. If Reave says, "There."
  1972.
1973. {NARRATION} (A rift in the dreamworld begins to open up.)
1974. {NARRATION} (The rest of the Kraken ... has revealed itself.)
  1975.
  1976.
1977. Thanatos was mere moments away from doing quite literally anything to save himself, but somewhere between point A, and point B of that plan, his brain shuts down.
  1978. (Thanatos Task)
  1979. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1980.
1981. Who was the first mate? SERIOUSLY. Who the FUCK was the first mate at this rate?
  1982.
1983. Grumbling and cursing away under his breath he'd rush off to begin barraging the tentacle with his arrows. Corrosive and Occultic magic alike make their work to burn the rubbery texture of the Kraken... It's not much damage, really, but it is still annoying.
  1984.
1985. Yet within the void what was and wasn't a shadow? Quite literally phasing in and out of material existence he'd manage to carve a claw ever so slightly into the rubbery skin of the creature.
  1986.
1987. Thanatos would be saved by someone, that much he knew. Yana, even, managed the final blow...
  1988.
1989. Well, for now at least. A rift tears itself open as the Kraken's full form is shown and his eyes can only widen. A suppressed scoff of amusement escapes him, "S'this hwhat'cha migh' look like..? S'this hwhat I'm sinkin' thangs ta..?
  1990.
1991. … I'm comin' for my gifts," Andreas hissed with an excited grin. Readying the next volley of arrows he'd begin slinking back into the void.
  1992. (Andreas)
  1993. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1994.
1995. Maertock would face the extra-planar mind tentacles with nothing less than abject determination. Cackling with cheer as he lurched forth in the shadows of the abyss as if they were his own home. If this was a battle of wills as to whose black demesne this would become?
  1996.
1997. The Captain intended to make his claim.
  1998.
1999. Circling around the kraken as he became the shadow shark, the reaver would lunge forth to feast upon the foul mana and flesh with determination as he continued his predation.
  2000.
2001. "We're not stuck in here with you. YOU'RE STUCK IN HERE WITH US."
  2002. (Maertock Reave)
  2003. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  2004.
2005. Before really answers could be given, Thanatos had been taken by the throat from the largest ass tentacle she had ever seen. Perhaps this was the kraken's lair after all.
  2006.
2007. Though, the tentacle didn't seem to be attached to anything else? This place was weird, either way the men were bickering about who's going to be first mate, while Lenalla got to business.
  2008.
2009. Setting up various healing waters, the barrel of her revolve was rapidly spinning as she set it to attune to different magics she unfolded her arsenal, but failed to get the final blow.
  2010.
2011. Taking a breath in the silence, Lenalla put her two cents in the argument. "Maybe I should be..."
  2012.
2013. Portals opened, and there it was, the big prize. Apparently he was she hiding the rest of himself.
  2014.
2015. "Now this is what I'm talkin about! Lets feckin rumble! I will eat you raw!"
  2016. (Lenalla)
  2017. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2018. Where even were they? Would their usual magics be effective against something of this twilight realm? The quartermaster didn't know about all that. Nor did they feel the urge to care.
  2019.
2020. Instead, they fought like they always had. They pulled upon the Deep One's power, spilling the abyss of Mori across the battlefield to slow and damage their opponent. But this time they had more on their mind. Their attention was only slightly torn.
  2021.
2022. A glare focused dead-set on Than. The mithril barrel leveled forth. And as they offered consistent support in pushing the thing around, slowing it down, forcing it to sink in the inky black.. They built a hefty charge of mana in the base of the barrel.
  2023.
2024. They might've, perhaps, maybe, meant to shoot Than. Maybe. Just a little.
  2025.
2026. Instead the tendril thrashed at just the right time to be in the way, and part of it was completely blasted clean off, freeing Than in the process. He would have to pull himself away from the thing, but If had done something of a service there.
  2027.
2028. The alchemist cursed under their breath, but did not have enough time to build up another shot before the tentacle was defeated by Yana.. And the kraken truly showed itself.
  2029. (If Reave)
  2030. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  2031.
2032. For someone who bore many defeats Yana had been evolving her combat greatly. Despite being in a weird bad trip world, the Ookami found earth(?) and vines bending to her will.
  2033.
2034. The final blow was struck upon the unsightly tendril, multiple spikes of rock sent flying to its direction. Having learned well while fighting against Layfon, those were as sharp as small knives and severed the limb from its monstrous owner.
  2035.
2036. ...Just a tendril, of course, for the actual kraken is immensely bigger. Caught in the heat of a battle worth getting hurt for, the Ookami roars!
  2037. (Yana)
  2038. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  2039.
2040. {NARRATION} The abyss begins to flood blackness.
2041. Ink from the tentacle and stains the Dreamscape.
  2042.
2043. Once there were stars. now succumbed to the Void.
2044. That ink begins running the lay of the land, fielding itself and covering every trace of light.
  2045.
2046. And as you'd step in this Dream-World, you'd feel a gripping at your ankles and a tethering at your feet.
  2047.
2048. It would first be strings, then puddles and soon pools.
2049. Before long, you now realize.
  2050.
  2051.
  2052. You're drowning.
  2053. [00:07]
  2054. "Five Rounds."
  2055.
  2056. "Kraken."
  2057.
  2058. (Kraken)
  2059. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  2060.
  2061. {NARRATION} [Final Boss!]
  2062. {Won Deadly RPB against Kraken}
  2063.
  2064. [Slay the Kraken.]
  2065.
  2066.
2067. At last, the kraken was slain. What did the crew need him for again?
  2068.
2069. Before the creature's huge body collapsed, Yana jumped away, retracting her tendrils to nothingness. Standing somewhere she deemed to be safe, the Ookami waited.
  2070. (Yana)
  2071. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  2072.
2073. Maertock's dance with the kraken; Saltspite's blade clasped tight in hand, was nothing less than the stuff of legend. The titanic beast emitted vile bursts of pressurized, abyssal taint, endless storms of black coldflame and searing, parasitic fog that rivaled his own and then some.
  2074.
2075. The kraken was a true foe. One fit to take all that the Captain had to give. It wasn't simply a battle of sheer might; even a towering sharkman had nothing on the endless flesh and sinew of a titanic monster. But here, two heralds of the deep made their claim on whose was the worthier conquest.
  2076.
2077. Would he become food for this thing swallowed by the dark? Or would he subjugate it, REAVE it, and prove his right in the eyes of the dead god?
  2078.
2079. There was no need for an answer, no question or doubt. He understood why he was here; what trial this meant for his pursuits as a mouth of the deep.
  2080.
2081. The shark circled the beast as the crew worked together with countless struggles. Andreas' shadows clawing away at life essence, If's abyssal pressure of gravity. Yana and Lenalla with their mending ways. And of course, trusty Than, who gave him the moment he needed to act.
  2082.
2083. As a great, piercing beam of sheer, condensed etheric energy was released by Rinn's Retort at Than's hand, the beast's attention fell upon the great assault it took as the Captain sunk into the shadows, gathering within himself all that he had.
  2084.
2085. Until he was right behind the flesh, massive cranium of the cephalopod.
  2086.
2087. "It was you or me. It was always going to be me."
  2088.
2089. Black, oozing shadows of ink swallowed Saltspite's cutlass in his hand as it became a razor lance of darkness, before with a roar of exhaustion and primal fury, Maertock would put all of his fishman strength into one, single blow.
  2090.
2091. A piercing thrust right through the back of the kraken's head, directly into the brain. His oozing, inky shadows flowing in a sudden, raging torrent as the Captain of the Deep Company consumed the accursed mana of the ancient kraken. From the murky depths, his water spirit joined him as it dove within the cranial wound, the great white with black hide and crimson eyes feasting upon the dark mana that possessed an almost sticky, oily quality.
  2092.
2093. His black tendrils entered the pierced brain of the kraken, flowing through its immense, eldritch mana circuitry in a devouring tide that nigh overwhelmed Maertock with the sheer ancient malevolence of its quality. Yet, not unlike a shark scenting blood in the water, the son of the Deep would not have his fill until every last drop of foul, accursed cephalapod life essence was under his sovereignty.
  2094.
2095. The further he pushed, the more it seemed his water spirit appeared to mutate horribly. The black surge of kraken lifeforce had not been dominated quietly; the Captain was not unchanged. One could not merely absorb an ancient mind. His thoughts grew foggy, unfocused, driven forth only by predatory instinct to fulfill this hunt before it all went black.
  2096.
2097. Black tentacles spewed forth from his water spirit as the deep sorcerer staggered back with his fill had; his shadowy cloak erratically flowing outwards as tentacles seemed to appear in places they should not. Each lined with countless eyes as the Captain's flesh returned. His shark pupils were dilated as wide as his sockets, glazed over as his mind wandered beyond.
  2098. (Maertock Reave)
  2099. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  2100.
2101. Amidst that dream-like void Andreas thrived. The titanic beast held far too much darkness around them, and from it the archer remained precise in his actions. Andreas slips in and out of nonexistent hiding spots-- His form flickers between smog and shadowy remains all to merely land his next shot.
  2102.
2103. By all means he wasn't the one dealing large hits, but he did keep hitting.
  2104.
2105. Acidic mana chases its purpose in dissolving the leathery skin of the kraken. Occultic mana, in turn, works in tearing out parts of its mana for his own malefic gain. It had never been about landing notable blows for Andreas...
  2106.
2107. All he asked was to be remembered.
  2108.
2109. As the hunt continued he'd land what was presumed to be the lead up towards the defining blow. Thanatos held most of the hand alongside Maertock, surely, but he himself was another to warp right beside the Kraken's head.
  2110.
2111. Armed with a shadowy cutlass he makes oneswift incision into the beast's circuitry, tearing away part of its mana reserves for later. With his own part done, however, he's swift to retreat into his abyssal hiding spot until the next shot could be fired...
  2112.
2113. Or, of course, until the Reave claimed its brain. Skulking out from the abyss the goat-horned man holds nothing short of a wide grin on his lips.
  2114. (Andreas)
  2115. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  2116.
2117. If did not take massive cleaves with a blade. If did not do large amounts of damage all at once, usually. There were a few off things that forced creatures to kneel, or be thrown across the field, or otherwise. But this thing was too large for them to fully effect it.
  2118.
2119. And so they relied mainly on their other techniques. Though they weighed it down when they could, their more prominent contribution was the omnipresent sapping of its strength.
  2120.
2121. Abyssal waters sought to forever pull the kraken down. And though it was a child of those very same depths, If weaponized the chill. They tore away its strength, and drank in every last moment they spent in its presence. Every moment they spent in the dream.
  2122.
2123. The mithril barrel leveled toward the creature again and again. Inky black shots fired repeatedly, ghastly 'harpoons' sinking into the creature.
  2124.
2125. Black chains which only served to further their purpose. They didn't truly want to badly damage the body. So they did their best not to fire off their more destructive blasts of gravitational force.
  2126.
2127. They sapped away its power. Than pierced it through and through.
  2128.
2129. And Maertock finished the job, cleaving straight into its brain.
  2130.
2131. The quartermaster stared on, slowly drifting closer to the corpse.
  2132. (If Reave)
  2133. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  2134.
2135. The moment his mind actually got to working again, he realized how dire the situation actually was. While he may have been free from the Kraken's tentacle, the great beast itself had made itself known.
  2136.
  2137. "Fuck."
  2138.
2139. With that singular, but incredibly necessary word out of the way, the Task would move into action. Round after round from his rifle would soar through the abyss, and into the creature, and when things seemed to be at their worst for him, he'd either slip into a rift, or into the shadows to avoid what was going to be lethal damage.
  2140.
  2141. He couldn't die here.
  2142.
  2143. Not now.
  2144.
  2145. Not ever.
  2146.
2147. While the rest of his crew engaged the creature with a frenzy only the deep company could muster. Thanatos would aim his rifle, as he poured as much raw mana into it as humanly possible. Yet, it wasn't enough, he needed more, he needed just one more push-
  2148.
2149. And it came, yet not in the form that he had expected.
  2150.
2151. From hisside two spectral hands found itself pressing up against the side of his railgun. 'Aim a little higher, kid.' Yet, that wouldn't be where it ended, he felt two hands place themselves upon his shoulders. No words of encouragement came, just a maddening cackle. Then came two other hands that pressed up against the opposite side of his rifle. 'Tear this son of a bitch to pieces.'
  2152.
2153. Finally, a rift tore open to the side of him, as four more hands pressed up against his back. Two of them appeared rather rat like. 'One down, plenty to go.'. While the other appeared to be more akin to claws than actual hands.'Show them what it means to be a Task.'
  2154.
2155. His family was here to push him forward, for one last blast of his Rail Gun. Of course, none of them were real. It was just a figment of his imagination given form around him due to the dreamlike nature of their present location, but- It didn't matter to Than.
  2156.
2157. It gave him all the energy he needed, and with it... He'd let lose a beam of sheer, condensed etheric energy courtesy of the entire task family. Which crashed into the side of the beast, giving Maertock enough time to finish the damn thing off.
  2158.
2159. And the Captain does a damn fine job of that.
  2160. (Thanatos Task)
  2161. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2162. Tales will be told for ages about such a beast being slain, one could think of it as a hero's tale, but it was far from it. Bloodthirsty and greedy pirates who indulge in sin and the depth of the sea.
  2163.
2164. But still slaying a kraken sounds much more heroic than any story an Osronan will tell of the knight's deeds!
  2165.
2166. Taking more of a supportive role in this battle, Lenalla primarily keeps her barrel on wellspring. The Southwest clan has a strange doctrine about healing and hurting, a balance has to be found.
  2167.
2168. Firing suppressive shot with condensed poison and water, the lionfish kept her distance as she sent waves of healing wellsprings towards her crewmates.
  2169.
2170. Albeit, while focusing on her allies she lost sight of the kraken for just a second. While nothing reached out at her, she felt her throat closing in. Shit this was not good...but suddenly it released as Captain Maertock rightfully claims his prize!
  2171.
2172. But as the rage of battle comes to an end, there were eyes. Not there, but watching, feeling a twinge in her soul, this is the second time now. Was this that patron, the Deep One? Andreas spoke of its whispers, but where is it? Why won't it show itself? It just watches!
  2173.
2174. Paranoia filling her senses, desperate eyes dart around, no one to be seen? Where are you? Of course it wont shoe, foolish girl. Rubbing her neck felt heavy scars, but nothing was there?
  2175.
2176. Whispers of gifts? Yes! No they aren't there, but something? Unlocked, no, not blades, something better, control. Floating over to her crewmates, eyes darting from corpse, to captain, to crew. Now sight of this watcher, but predatory senses rising, eye focused, matched Andreas'
  2177.
2178. Upon giving the gaze, the goat man would feel his throat closing, as if someone had a firm chokehold on him. After a moment she released it. What tantalizing powers and gifts she has received. She wants more.
  2179. (Lenalla)
  2180. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  2181.
2182. {Item} You picked up Kraken Corpse. Dropped by Kraken..
2183. {NARRATION} The beast was felled in the most destructive way.
  2184.
2185. An onslaught of Magi, and the chaotic apparel of Maertock Reave.
  2186.
2187. A blow to the back of the head to splatter what little remnants of life it still clung onto-
  2188.
  2189. All over the floor.
  2190. ---
2191. Curse lifted, the creature was now dead, and so was its magic. Decaying rapidly, but still present, was perhaps just the hint that this mass of scrambled flesh was once something legendary- that many could only dream of.
  2192.
2193. The mythic beast is dead.
  2194. ---
  2195.
2196. As the string of fate is severed from this world and the next, you feel the Dutchman's curse lifting from you, seemingly with no extraneous injury.
  2197.
2198. Though, for some, the mumification would still remain, if not immedietly treated.
  2199. ---
  2200.
2201. The red dreamscape begins to bend to sand, and from that, the beach.
2202. You awake as the last embers of twilight begin to burn out.
  2203.
2204. There is nothing left here.
2205. It was time to go home.
2206. {NARRATION} The last of the sun fizzles out, as you now prepare for a long journey back home.
  2207.
  2208.
2209. Still, on-looking the ruins of that unnamed Isle?
2210. You can't but help feel something is off.
  2211.
  2212. Maybe next time.
